Her eyes widening at the leather pouch in her hands, Lee looked up at Keagan, speechless. Covering her mouth, she ignored his gesture toward the door and hugged him tight, her only means of thanking him at that point. Releasing the man, she grinned up at him before heading out the door to find Rory. Keagan was a life saver.

Keagan patted her on the head affectionately. "Doncha be spendin' it all at once, though." He shut the door after she left.
Rory wasn't too far away, sitting on a barrel behind a vendor and working a piece of wood into the shape of a fox. He hummed softly, some old didikai tune, keeping his focus on the wood. A few outsiders had gathered around him to watch the boy, but if he was aware of their presence, he didn't acknowledge it.

Spotting Rory, Lee cheerfully hopped toward him, an excited smile on her lips. Not noticing he was working on a carving or the group of people surrounding him, the girl nearly tackled him, almost knocking the boy off the barrel as she kissed him, hand still clutching her work schedule.

"Whoa, whoa!" Rory said, flailing to catch his balance and keeping the knife away from her. He laughed a bit, putting an arm around her. "Howway tha', lover. How'd things gae wi' your da?"

Lee stood back, smiling as she held the now crumpled schedule up for Rory. "I start tomorrow." She bit her lip, actually excited, considering this was her first job -- the first time she'd ever earn something. "Oh, right..." Lee held up the leather bag for Rory, too, her smiled slightly less eager. "I have to save it, though. Well, not have to, but I want to." She knew how hard that would be for her, but she'd have to learn to be careful with money from now on. No more spending the last of her two-hundred dollars during shopping binges as she'd done before.

"How much did he gi' you?" Rory asked, touching the pouch gingerly. He looked up at the girl. "If you really wanna hang ont' it, w' can gae t' th' accountants here an' get them t' set up a savin's fae you. I can show you where t' get groceries an' things, too." He smiled. "Too bad you cannae just live wi' me. It'd save on costs."

Lee shrugged. "I dunno. I haven't counted... I haven't really even looked. But it feels like there's a lot. The accountant could tell us exactly, though, right?" She was far too lazy to count right now, and it seemed unnecessary if someone else was going to count it for them soon. She blinked at the boy before looking away, biting her lip. "Y-yeah, too bad..." She wanted to say something more like, "Why can't I?", but reminded herself that they were already taking things so fast. It was so damn tempting, though...

Rory stood up, slipping the half-carved fox into his pocket. "Come on, love, let's gae get thin's set up fae you." He put an arm around Lee's shoulders. "How d'you feel about all this?"

Nodding and smiling faintly, Lee followed Rory's lead, feeling more and more like an adult every day. Looking up at the boy, she wasn't sure what he was referring to specifically. "About the job? I'm... excited." She smiled up at him, though couldn't think of the words to describe it. "I'll finally have my own money. I won't have to rely on you or Faolan for food anymore..." She laughed as if it were a joke, but it was true; she felt more independent. Lee looked up at Rory again. She wasn't sure he was asking about her job, though...

"You'll be more self-sufficient when I teach you t' cook," Rory chuckled. "I meant more about how d'you feel now tha' you're more or less out on your own?" He looked at her. "I'll still help you out, though."

Smiling down and watching her feet as they walked, she thought for a moment before answering. "I guess I'm... pretty proud of myself." She laughed, feeling stupid for having said it. "But a little scared. I just... worry I'll do something stupid." Like wasting all her money. Then again, that might be a little more difficult when it was all stashed away under another's watchful eye.

Her eyes wandering a bit, Lee bit her lip, unsure whether or not she should ask something. After a moment, she went for it. "Does it get lonely?" Lauss seemed to be spending less and less time around the vardo since he'd grown, which she had just assumed was because he was making up for lost time spent hidden away in a house or vardo, but it didn't keep her from worrying that he may continue. School and work would keep her occupied, though, right? And when it wasn't, she had Rory, or sometimes Faolan and Ellandra. What she was worried about, however, were the nights.

"Sometimes, I guess. I grew up wi' me sisters an' parents. I always knew they wis close. When I moved out on me own, it wis hard at first. I kept wakin' up an' tryin' t' see if I could hear them, but they wisnae there. It gets easier, I think," Rory said, shrugging. "Freedom comes at th' price o' bein' lonely sometimes. I'm not alone like I wis, though. I got you t' keep me company an' if I'm e'er so lonely I cannae stand it, I can stay wi' me parents fae a bit. Trust me, puttin' up wi' me little sisters fae a night or two an' I'm more'n ready t' gae back t' me own place again."

Lee nudged his side, shaking her head and giggling at the last comment. "You're so mean," she teased. It was good, Lee supposed, that she would have a better time adjusting to living on her own, not having had so many people around before moving out. "If I ever get so lonely I can't stand it, I'll just have to come see you." She blushed, but it was true; he was the only one she could go to, now that Elle and Fao had their kids to look after. "Or I could sleep over with your sisters. Either one..."
