Keeta couldn't help it. Her eyes watered up and she tried to hold back the stinging tears so they wouldn't fall down her face. She was so touched by his words and the effort he had gone to, to make her knew every day how much he loved her. She looked from the pearl ring to the bracelet around her wrist, and would have touched the necklace at her chest if she had has a free hand. So these gifts were not merely treasures in their monotary value, but also in symbolizing how he felt about her.
She was so chocked up, it was a long moment before she trusted herself to speak. Even then, when she spoke, her voice was thick with emotion.
"I will...I do...I want to always be with you," she managed, her eyes still glued to his.

His hand shook a little as he slid the ring onto her finger. The plastered grin was back on his face. This was the love of his life and they were soon to be married!
"I love you."
It took everything in him to not kiss her right then and there- he knew there was a proper time for it. He was excited and probably the happiest man in the realm at the moment.

Oh gods it was her turn! And her mind whirled with what to say. She had planned on writing vows in advance for their original date, but here she was, not having expected to get married until a few hours before. Nervous, Keeta took a shuddering breath and plunged forward, letting her heart do the talking.
"This won't be eloquent Rhine, because as you know, tonight was a complete surprise to me. But here I am, standing before you, the love of my life. I have known many men, but none have ever treated me with such kindness or respect. None have treated my children as they would his own, but you. Chivalry still exists, in the medieval sense back in Evin, my homeland, and I had much thought it dead here in Gaia. But here you are, my knight in shining armor, my lord, my prince, my everything. I would go anywhere you would lead me, even where my head and my feet would not go on their own, for I love you and trust you with my whole life. I want to give you my whole self and everything in it, if you will have me. Rhine, will you join your life with me?"

"My lady, my princess, my everything, my pearl, my love... Yes," at first it was a whisper, but after several more times of saying the word yes he finally had it loud enough for everyone to hear. At that point he probably could have screamed it from the rooftops with joy.
He knew she hadn't put the ring on his finger just yet but he couldn't contain himself. He wrapped his free arm around her and pulled her impossibly close... His lips just inches from hers.
"Young love," the preacher chuckled. "What the heck," he said with a grin. "You may kiss the bride," but his 'permission' was a bit late as Rhine already had his lips on Keeta's.

Keeta smiled at the increasing volume of his agreement, but she let out a small gasp and her eyes went wide when he suddenly drew her close and kissed her even before the preacher gave his permission. The surprise only lasted an instant, however, before she was kissing him back just as fiercely.
It took everything she had a moment later to break the kiss, out of respect to the other people she knew were watching. Keeta knew that she and Rhine would have pleanty more time to kiss after letting everyone give their appropriate congratuations.
"Well hello there Mr. Harding," Keeta whispered to him. She grinned at him before looking down to work on getting the ring on the correct finger among their intertwined hands. Once the ring was on, she turned to face their waiting family.

"I present Mr. and Mrs. Harding," the preacher said, finishing up the ceremony.
The preacher barely finished his sentence when the silence of the night was broken by an applause of people. Natalia and Camille started throwing petals once more.
As Rhine scooped Keeta up the violin music began to play again. He carried her back down the 'isle'. He carried them down to the beach and to the waters edge, everyone else followed.

Keeta yelped slightly in surprise as he picked her up, and worked on holding on tight as he carried her down the beach. It was akward holding on, with their hands tied together, but she managed. As they passed Jiao'lan, Ceres, Joel, Camille, Natalia and the rest of the family, Keeta grinned at them, her smile the widest it could go. She had to work at not trying to kiss him as he carried her (for she knew he probably had to concentrate) but she wanted him very badly now that she was his and he was hers. She had to settle for whispering in his ear.
"I love you..."

"Mrs. Harding I love you," he whispered as he put her back onto her feet. The water just barely tickling their toes.
It was timed, just as everything else was. The distant recorded violin music faded and it was replaced by them playing again in the here and now.
"May I have the first dance?"

Keeta, seeing where he was about to set her down had the forethought to grab the ballroom loop in her train. She knew she wouldn't avoid getting the dress wet entirely, but at least she wouldn't be dragging a saltwater soaked train around the beach all night. Of course if she had known they were getting married on the beach she wouldn't have had a train at all, but she didn't regret the change.
"Of course Mr Harding," she said, pulling him close. She leaned her head against his shoulder and closed her eyes, listening to the soft violin music.

Rhine had a hard time separating himself from Keeta and ending their first dance. However, he knew there were other things to do on tonight's agenda. "Let's cut the cake," he suggested. His was putting his best efforts forth in trying to keep his mother from finding out about the pregnancy. He also knew that Keeta was probably getting the munchies right about now. "I was told the cater that we picked does awesome work," he chuckled.

"I'll bet he does," Keeta said with a smile, following his lead. She didn't want them to stop dancing, but she understood the need for a quick pace to the evening. She knew just as well as Rhine that if Ceres had too long to sit and watch them without other distractions, she would figure things out. Not that it mattered as much now as it did before. After all, they were married now...
"Married..." Keeta whispered aloud. The whole idea was still strange and new to her. She was legaly and spiritually bound now to the man who stood next to her. The man who loved her so much and was better than anything she ever could imagine, they were one now. She pressed closer to him as they walked towards the place he food lay.
Her eyes opened wide wide when she saw the cake. It wasn't very big, it had no need to be, but it was esquisitely decorated with little "pearls" all over the top and sides. It was two layers and in addition to the "pearls" were little clam and oyster shells made of sugar, all tying into Rhine's pearl theme that he was trying to bring together that evening, ever reminding Keeta how much he loved her.

"We'll have to keep him in mind for other occasions," he gave Keeta's hand a squeeze. He was very impressed with the cake- he couldn't have asked for better. He chuckled to himself. He was amazed that the baker could make something so amazing... He made a mental note to hire one for the cafe.
"Don't just stand there and stare at it," Cassara said as she put herself in between them. It was now more obvious that she had already starting drinking to celebrate. After handing them the knife she put one arm on her brothers shoulder, the other on Keeta's shoulder.
Perian was doing a good job keeping the 'little ones' together and occupied... Especially now that there was cake, that they got to eat, soon to be involved in this party.
Everyone else had gradually piled around the table with the cake and couple waiting to cut into the first piece.

Keeta fought the urge to lean away slightly with Cassara in her intoxicated state, but kept her composure. She was glad to see Perian had Joel and Camille under control. She didn't think she'd be able to manage it right now with everything else that was going on.
They gripped the knife together with their bound hands. Keeta smiled at her new husband and with him reached forward towards the cake. Together they cut down into the layers and then cut a second time, making the first slice. It was an odd sensation, having to cut it together, but it was nice at the same time. It was just a small demonstration of how they would have to work together to make the marriage a good one.

"That's the spirit," Cassara said as she stood up and clapped. Her voice was surprisingly pleasant with no hint of sarcasm.
Rhine laughed and kissed his wife as they finished cutting the cake. They had held hands many times before but now it was different. There was more a sense of connection- and it wasn't just due to the being bound at the wrist for the moment part either.
His siblings started to clap in rhythm. "Eat it, Eat it!" They started to chant as they too joined in on Cassara's merriment.
"Forgive them," Rhine chuckled as that lopsided grin found its way onto his face like many times previous. He took part of the piece they cut and directed it towards Keeta's mouth. Feeding a person was a bit harder to do when you were laughing. He had gotten it on the sides of her mouth and a bit of her nose.

Keeta didn't particularly care that Rhine had gotten cake on her. In her opinion that was part of the fun. Instead of wiping it off, she leaned forward and gave him a cakey kiss.
Grinning, now that she had made a mess of him, she picked up the other piece of the cut cake and put it in Rhine's mouth, not exactly being as careful as she could have been. Keeta knew Rhine would take it all in fun. Besides, she spent too much of her time being serious. It was her wedding day after all! It was time to have some fun!.
She leaned forward and kissed him again, getting more cake on herself in the process.
"I love you," she whispered in his ear as she pulled away, to smile at their "audience."
