Joey stopped where he had been flipping furiously through the book he was holding. His heart had loged itself in his throat and was now trying rediculusly hard to climb out his mouth, makiing him stumble over his words. "Y-you would r-really do that? Y-you'd take me in? M-me?"

"Of course you, who else did you think I was talking about? I've already admitted to loving you, I might as well go all the way to saying that I want you to live with me." Seto commented, looking up at him. "I mean- I guess... This type of place isn't good for you. You need to live somewhere where you feel safe and secure and.... I think I can provide that for you."

"You don't...I can't...It's not..." Joey couldn't seem to finish a sentance. He took a deep breath, his chest tightening painfully, unwanted tears welling in his eyes again.
"You don't love me...You pity me. No one loves a mutt." He covered his face with his free hand, wishing away the tears that fell between them. "I've taken care of my father since I was six, that dosn't keep him from kicking me like the dog I am. I gave up all the dreams I ever had to keep my sister away from this life but shes to afraid to come see me. Dogs carry desieses. My own friends have to swoop in and save my butt every few minuits, then try to tell me I did it myself, like I'm some kinda idiot. No one wants to see the mutt crying. It's all s**t. And no matter where I go, it'll always be s**t. But..." He let the hand fall, feeling the tears he couldn't hide coursing down his face.
"But...my dad's still my dad. If I didn't stay with him, he'd proabably be dead. My sister is still my sister, and I know she thinks of me even when shes afraid to see me. My friends are still my friends, even when they can't help sticking their noses in where they don't belong." He felt a shaky smile form on his face. "All works out, dosn't it?"

"In the end it does and will... You've done well taking care of your Father and protecting everyone else. But, Jounouchi, it's time to ask for some help... I don't care if you're a mutt or not, I'm one too, don't forget. I have things that would hurt others just as much to be found out. We can get your Father some programs to help him and give you your life back. All I want is to see you safe and happy with me. Just once, Jou." Seto explained.

Joey just kept grinning weakly, shaking his head. "Being so small has done somthing to your brain." He laughed. "Once you're back to your normal size you'll see...How pointless all of this is..." There was nothing Joey wanted more than to just give in and go with Kaiba, but he couldn't. In all these years he had wrapped his chains to tightly about him, afraid of what might happen if he lost them. His father had tried programs before, it didn't work. He'd be good for a few days, then go back to his normal self. "Just...forget about it. This is my life. I'm used to it. Do me a favor and forget you saw it, ok?"

Mokuba's old enough to take care of himself and the company has a board. I'm going to stay this way because this way I can keep an eye on you and make sure you'll be okay." Seto commented. "Because I DO love you and I want you to be safe."

"No! I won't let you do anything so...stupid!" Joey said angrily. A frustrated rage was building in him like boiling water. Why couldn't he understand it just couldn't work, no matter what eaither of them did? He had avoided the topic of what would happen to Seto if someone found out he had taken in a stray mutt, but now he reverted to it as his last hope.
"Think of what would happen to you if it got out I was living with you! The media would go insane! They'd kill you. Add I...I don't want you getting hurt anymore than you want me to..."

"They can hurt my image, and I can always detach myself from my company. I know how to deal with them, Jou and there's nothing that can make me change my mind. If I want you to be safe, you'll be safe, one way or another. Besides, the loyal consumers of my products understand that I don't do anything without a proper reason." He commented.

Joey rubbed his eyes with a pained expression. "This isn't right..." He was silent for a long moment, "You know what, it dosn't matter. Let's just get you back to normal, then we'll worry about this, all right? And I don't want to hear any more of this nonsense about you staying this way, so don't even try it."
