"OH NO!" Elizabeth exclaimed, "How could he be--....." She looked down at the motionless pokemon. "Wait, are you SURE it's dead?"

Elizabeth gaped."... what?" She blinked, "no, NO, that's not it at all, First of all EW, second of all I think he's just knocked out.... Don't you know ANYTHING about Pokemon?"

"M-me?" Elizabeth stuttered. "Uhm, I- I could try." She looked down at the ground, embarrassed. "Uhm but Really, He's not dead you just need to get him healed... You can Ask Professor Oak it you want!" she exclaimed suddenly. "Or-or, just resting at home gives him a chance to recover!"

Naomi made a face when all she ran into was another Rattata.  "Go! Charley!"  Naomi commanded Charley, her charmander to attack.

Oh no! Charley fainted! "Go! Rattata!"  Naomi commanded Rattata to attack.

Naomi left the fainted Rattata and continued on her way back to her house to rest her weary Charmander.

After receiving her pokemon "Splash" a Squirtle from Professor Oak, Cadi dug through her backpack for a quick bite since she ran out on the mornings eggs and toast. She mumbled angrily wishing she hadn't been so quick to flee home on an empty stomach as she munched down on a dry tasteless cracker.
"YUCK!"
She spat some of the dry cracker out. Glared at the tiny bit of dry food then put it back in her mouth and swallowed.
"Ugh, this is going to be a long trip.." She looked down at her Squirtle. "What about you buddy? Cracker?
She offered a piece of dry nasty cracker to Splash.. but Splash just turned up his nose.
"Well.. I don't blame ya. Lets get going..." Cadi started walking off.
After a moment she paused to turn and look behind her. "You comin?"
Squirtle stared at her as if he wondered why she didn't re-collect him in the pokeball.
"...What?... Don't tell me you WANT to be in that tiny space?"
After a brief pause the Squirtle ran after Cadi, he seemed to accept her as a trainer and it may even appear to have a tiny smile.. well at least as good as a Squirtle could smile anyways.

"I suppose our first stop should be the Poke-Mart huh?" Cadi glanced back to Splash with a smile. Even if he WAS a water pokemon.. she was happy to have him. He is her very own pokemon after all.
Cadi walked into the Pokemart and spoke with the man at the counter, asking him what things he suggested she take on her trip that maybe she didn't already have.
Cadi received a potion from the pokemart clerk.
"Thank you!" she said with a smile and finished their conversation before leaving the mart to head onward to the next town.

Cadi finally headed out of town and looked onward at the tall grass fields that lay ahead of her and Squirtle. She glanced down at her new Pokemon.
"Ready to go buddy?"
The Squirtle looked up to her and gave a happy nod. He seemed to like her already. She seemed kind, even if she came off rough on the outside. Even the Professor didn't treat him THIS great. ...not to say the professor wasn't a good guy.

A wild lvl 4 Pidgy flew up from the tall grass calling out in fear and anger from being disturbed.  "Woah!" Cadi jumped back slightly, a wild pokemon flying out so quickly caught her off guard. "Squirtle, Go! Use Tackle!" Splash jumped out and lunged towards the pidgy best he could.
