Lee smiled back at him, thinking it was pretty cute that this was what he chose to do in his free time. She wondered for a moment if he had a collection of prizes stashed away somewhere. Shuffling over, she felt somewhat childish when he called it a "toy", even if it was accurate, but couldn't help but get excited when she noticed a black teddy bear. Why black? It matched Rory's hair, of course. Pointing at it, she asked the man behind the counter "Can I have that one?"

The man nodded and handed the bear to her. "So, Rory, when did you start spendin' your time wi' th' outsiders?"
"She's part o' th' clan, Donely," Rory said, putting his arms around Lee protectively.

Lee happily clung to the bear, nodding to the man and just about to thank him when he gave the not so subtle jab at... well, she wasn't sure who he was insulting, Rory or her. Either way, she pouted and shuffled closer to Rory, looking even more childish than she normally did with a bear in her hands. She almost decided she didn't want the stuffed animal anymore -- at least until she looked down at it and decided it was cute enough to where she didn't really care about the man anymore. She wondered if Ellandra and Faolan dealt with the same things at first. Ignoring the man further, she turned to face Rory. "Thanks for the bear..." She lightly kissed him, hoping that he, too, wouldn't give it too much thought.

"Welcome, love," Rory drawled out, leading her away from the game stand. "Wanna go on some o' th' rides? You can see most o' Farstep from th' top o' th' ferris wheel."

"Okay, sure." She bit her lip soon afterward, though, realizing just how tall the farris wheel was. "It's... safe, right?" She laughed for a moment at her own question, though was still just as nervous.

"Sure it's safe," Rory laughed, leading her towards the ferris wheel. "You'll love th' view from th' top o' it." He waved to the operator as the approached and the man motioned for them to go on and get in one of the baskets.

Even with Rory's reassurance, Lee was still less than confident. Fidgeting, she looked back at him worriedly, tugging at her shirt before stepping into the basket and sitting down, her back stiff and unconsciously holding her breath. Why had she agreed to this?

Rory rested an arm around her shoulders reassuringly, fingertips playing with the ends of her hair idly. As the wheel lurched to life and the basket rose, he moved her closer to him, liking the way the girl fit against his side. Soon they were at the top and the ride stopped to let people out and new people on. The boy leaned forward a bit, letting out a sigh at the sight of the carnival laid out before them. "Ne'er gets old seein' it." He looked down at Lee, tilting his head a little, then dipped down and kissed her deeply.

As they were lifted higher, Lee's heart raced faster. What if she fell out? What if it stopped working and they were left dangling there? Gladly being pulled closer to Rory, she tried to avert her eyes from the sight before them. While Rory seemed to enjoy it, it nearly terrified her, so much so that she hadn't even noticed him leaning in for a kiss. Quickly, though, she was nearly completely calm, even kissing him back. She'd almost forgotten where she was. Almost.

Rory pulled her closer, too distracted by kissing to notice the wheel was moving again. On the ground, though, the operator started teasing the boy and Rory pulled away, blushing furiously. When the guy let them out, he all but bolted. Taking Lee's hand, he quickly led her away. "S-sorry."

Rory's embarrassment was too adorable for Lee to care that they'd be seen kissing in public. She covered her mouth with her free hand, trying to keep herself from bursting out in giggles as she was dragged along. At his apology, she simply shook her head, looking up at him with an amused smile. "You're cute..." When was the last time she'd smiled like this?

"Am not," Rory mumbled, rubbing at his cheek with his free hand. He was about to say more when a voice called out from the side.
"What are you up t', Dead Eyes?"
Rory stopped and turned to the voice, looking at the group of boys coming out from between the tents and booths. "Just out wi' me girl afore work."
The lead boy raised an eyebrow, looking Lee over. "She must hae pretty low standards t' be out wi' you in public, Dead Eyes."

"Dead Eyes? Is that supposed to be clever?" Lee cocked an eye brow as the others spoke. She'd never been ridiculed like this before; she was Lee Katan, she didn't have to put up with this! And low standards?! She'd been married to Faolan, dangit! Folding her arms and cocking her head, she looked the more talkative boy over, sizing him up before smirking. "Hm. Still not low enough to be seen with any of you." She gave them a small "I almost feel sorry for you" look before turning on her heel to face Rory. She draped her arms around his shoulders before pulling him down and kissing him much too passionately for the current setting. She may have been embarrassing Rory, but she was too insulted to care.

Rory stiffened at the kiss, then slowly wrapped his arms around her and kissed back. He forgot about the boys, his focus narrowing on how soft Lee's lips were.
"I can't believe she's kissing the freak," the other boy muttered as the group slinked off.

Lee'd been too preoccupied to hear the boy's statement, and happily continued her pursuit. Eventually pulling away for breath, she looked up at Rory, the realization of where they were flooding back to her and her cheeks growing deep red. Looking down and hiding her face with a hand, she stuttered, "Eh, s-sorry." Realizing she'd dropped her teddy bear, she bent down to pick it up, glaring in the direction the boys had come from before standing up right, avoiding looking Rory in the eyes. She'd embarrassed herself, hadn't she?
