"Cranberries, hmm? That's a new one." Kat had a vague smile on her lips as she leaned back against the bed. "Exactly what place is this? And did you really just call them 'bad guys'?" Kat let out a slight chuckle, amused, "Roxanna, where did you pick this guy up?"

"I found him when I was naked at the park, or more accurately his dog found me, and then they took me home." Roxanna said it devoid of humor, if she didn't quite catch the hilarity in the shortened version of the story.

"Well, you know, she followed me, and my mommy said yes," he turned back to Kat. "Well, they want to kill everyone with super powers that isn't one of them, and are fine with blowing up people's homes? Sounds super-villain-ey to me." He clapped his hands together. "So! About the getting while the getting's good?"

Rook paused, sitting on the bed, thinking.
"And they'll blow up your's, too, if they see you with Roxanna. Perhaps all of us being in one spot isn't a good idea. Kat and I can stay on the move... But Roxanna... You have some kinda of movement power, right? That's how you got Kat and Jeffry from the docks to your place without a trail? Maybe you can use that to stay hidden, and move you and Jarred to where Kat and I are. While I'm not gonna say no to help, them blowing up your apartment seems like a poor idea."

"Just haven't heard someone use the term 'bad guys' in a long long time. I suppose that's what you could call them, though."
Kat shook her head at Rook, "It's one thing to blow up a house, but they're not going to blow up an apartment building. Linc would push for it, but the council would be outright pissed, he has to tread softly as it is. All things considered, it could be a relatively safe home base." She let out a small sigh, "And personally it would be nice to have a small break from running."

Roxanna gave Jarred an odd look, "your mother?"
She then turned to Rook, "I can teleport through water, and can listen through it as well. If the two of you wanted to keep safe, I could take you a place where you wouldn't be touched. It would be more effective than running."

Eulalia Danae Roxanna gave Jarred an odd look, "your mother?" She then turned to Rook, "I can teleport through water, and can listen through it as well. If the two of you wanted to keep safe, I could take you a place where you wouldn't be touched. It would be more effective than running." He nodded, mulling over Kat and Roxanna's words. "Let's not keep all the eggs in one basket. The Keepers can still kick in the door and whack all of us. If two stay in one place, Jarred goes about his life and helps when he can, and you... Well, you stay 'dead', we should be fine."

If we can get a trap or something for these bad guys, we can find out their plans, or get them to stop, or something. We gotta try something other than just jump ship."

I left them so I could stop them. But before we do that, we gotta get 'em off our trail, make sure you and Roxanna are safe. Then we start working on a way to take these guys down."

Eulalia Danae Roxanna blinked a few times. "Why do I need to stay dead?" "Metaphor dead, not literal dead. Pretend dead, play dead. If the Keepers think you died, then they'll leave you alone. If they don't see Jarred with us, they'll leave him alone. So, you two'll be fine. And if Roxy can take us someplace they can't get to us... Then we'll be fine."

Kat stood up and moved to the bathroom, and closed the door as she got her clothes. They were still damp, but they'd do.
She walked back out, leaning on the door. "All right, this is getting ridiculous. Whatever apartment this is, is safer than this hotel room, that much I can guarantee, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to walk into the room so casually. Also, I'm not used to working with people, so I will likely do things without asking your permission or opinion on the matter. Personally, I'd work better alone than with a group, so if we're going to split up...let me head out and do my own thing. But in the mean time, let's get out of this place and argue somewhere else."
Kat started for the door, paused by Jarred to help herself to his keys, and motioned for everyone else to follow as she moved down the hallway and to the stairs.

Jarred paused, looked at his hand that was holding his keys, then at Kat, then at his hand again. He shrugged, starting towards her. "I also have food at my place." He shrugged, walking down the hall.
