Sitting on a chair in the middle of the podium reserved for the staff, Ren was looking at her students with glee. So many different faces, so many different personalities, she couldn't wait to get to know each and every one of them.
She noticed a very unbalanced and uncoordinated student in Kaede's group and couldn't help but chuckle.
Oh, he's in the right house, I'm sure of it. With Ki-chan as his superior, he'll never repeat the same mistake again.
Looking to her side, she noticed the head researcher and the caretaker examining the two groups of students as well. Caeles was focusing on the drunken student with a malicious glimmer in his eye. She leaned closer to him and whispered:
"So you have found your victim already? Your decision is rather fast this year. But I guess it wasn't very hard to make."
She leaned back on her chair and waited for the house heads to accompany their students into the dorms.

Caeles tilted his head towards the Headmistress, a slight show of respect before he stated, "We will probably be selecting many victims... We agree though, our decision was not hard this year... Is one of them holding a cane?..." Blinking in surprise, Caeles quickly scanned the assembly of students until he found one, a small female, who was indeed holding a cane. "That makes two..." The Pale shinigami stated, indicating the young girl with the cane, "She looks a little unhealthy though... Has this roof always been here?"
Cracking his neck slightly, Caeles brushed some of his long white hair out of his eyes before resuming his search, seeing if he could find any more... volunteers... for this years challenge.

Hunbaba waited in line like the rest of the students.He took a look at the staff examining him and immeadatly felt embaresed.He then looked the headmistress in the eyes and gave the staf a great big smile in hope to change their opinion.

Kaede looked scornfully at the student who tried to make excuses for his actions. After having waited patiently enough for Hunbaba to finish and get in the line, she merely replied coldly: "You have an appointement with or caretaker Solstice this evening. Now get a grip of yourself, you don't wanna get expelled the first day of academy, do you?" There was no doubt about the nature of this appointement, and Kaede was certain it will prove to be mostly efficient for convincing the student to behave.

"Ko-waii.." Renkishi muttered, her too, spectating the little event going on between a student and a teacher. Admiral actually, be it not for his lost sense of sanity, but for the nerves to oppose a teacher in realization with much fear to express. Asides the letdown, Sanabi was rather amused. Though her face didn't say as much nor did her drowsy eyes, her ribs chuckled deep within the vessel rift.
Now realizing the aches of her continuously standing, she decided to just sit anywhere. Hopefully no whispers or groans would pierce her ears. Much expected, it was time to go. But she took her time regardless of her somewhat hasty dormhead. Hopefully, her dorm would be filled with all kinds of thrills.
Just, casual with a distinct sense of humor as she waited for the mob to thin out before really leaving. Sanabi..when have you stopped caring about being tardy? That conscious question took it's worth of killing time as she found herself lazing about in the middle halls. With her answer, she blew away the silence.
"Since elementary."

Once he got in the line, James had been trying to observe as much of the faces and personalities of House Dango's members as he could. He noticed that there was about an even number of guys to girls, and that the large number of both sides who looked old enough to be at least teenagers were considerably good looking. That means there is going to be competition in more than just academics, he joked within his mind and continued his small closed-mouth smile that he would probably be known for.
Seeing that the headmistress's speech was finished and that deputy headmistress Kaede was giving nothing short of an energetic standing ovation, James quickly followed her example with his own clapping. He didn't feel that it was quite the speech to merit applause but who was he to ignore tradition and courtesy. After that point, while trying to get a better view of his fellow house members, he kept a watchful eye upon the deputy headmistress. James guessed that the combination of Kaede's overall position within the academy with the fact that she would be their house head would mean high expectations and that meant being pushed towards excellence. Just one more thing that he liked about this place.
Another thing that caught James's attention was that a number of students and the majority of the teachers had made quiet remarks in disgust as well as rather scowling looks toward one student who was obviously drunk. Drunk... Seriously, on the opening day... and in the same house no less... he thought, feeling fairly ashamed to be associated with whomever that was - even indirectly - but determined not to let such behavior ruin this experience. He felt from the Kaede's looks and manner towards that student, such foolishness wouldn't be allowed to go unpunished for very long at all.

Standing up, Alcina stretched in a cat like way then jumped off the stage, marching down the isle thingy. "Alright my little kiddies follow me so we can get started on the pranks we're gonna pull on ol' Dango!" as she finished speaking, she wondered if most of the students would understand that she was the head of the Senbei house. Shrugging, she continued marching to the doors. "Last one there gets to do dishes for the rest of the week!" she yelled suddenly and began running, although in her current outfit it was rather awkward. In the back of her mind she wondered if she should have left her students back like that. Well if they were smart they'd just follow the crazy lady out the door like good baby duckies.

Yomiko looked over at the head mistress as she called her name. Her eyes shown confusion for a moment before she sighed. So, she was in House Dango, eh? Well, that came as a surprise. She wouldn't have thought that she would be sorted in that house. Humming quietly, she hobbled over to the line of Dango students, gripping her cane tightly in anticipation. Yomiko was a bit nervous, being with all of these new people she did not know. She assumed that she would have to get used to it, though.

Now that the students that were placed in her house were mostly lined up, Kaede adressed them all. "You have been selected to joind house Dango. Our house seeks knowledge, developement, tactics and mastery of complex techniques or kidou instead of strength. Our power lies within our minds. I believe each and every one of you has the potential to achieve greatness one day, and I am here to aid you on your path towards it. Now, if we're all here, we can move to the Dango dormitories; please remember the way, I don't want you to get lost tommorrow." With that, she walked towards the door, and exited it slowly enough for anyone to follow, leading the way towards the Dango common room.

Hannelore smiled softly to herself. She'd made it through the ceremony without ever delving deeper than being a simple extra on the side. She liked her job, despite the many panic attacks it caused her, it was one of the tasks in the academy that people tried to avoid being involved with. For whatever reason, taking a trip to the medical staff was never something people wanted to do, either because they hated needles and hospitals, or because they didn't want to end up in a postion that needed medical attention. Though this croud of students before her with newly assigned dorms had a sense of enthusiasum. A sense of enthusiasm that may well land them in her hands.

As the two dorm house heads led their students out of the Great Hall, Ren stood up from her chair, looked at the remaining staff still sitting beside her and nodded with a wide grin on her face.
"I think we're done here. I need to take care of some paperwork, so if anyone needs me, I'll probably be in my office."
She quickly waved a short goodbye and shunpoed though the entrance of the Great Hall. On her way she appreciatively tapped Kaede on her shoulder, making sure she was moving fast enough so no one but her was able to know what happened. A few seconds later, as she caught up with Alcina, she winked at her, again so fast, that only they knew what was going on.
In the next moment she was already standing in front of her office.

Niku gritted her teeth and got up to follow the head mistress. Gritting her teeth, she tried very much in vain to drown out the loudness that filled every inch of the great hall. Oh how great it would be to be out of this accursed space and back into the silence of the office where there was yet work to be done.
"Well, I suppose once all the students have their schedules and are registered to their classes they can be taught to use their voices a bit less loudly."
She followed a few feet behind the group of student so as to not disturb them while they memorized (or didn't) the way to their common house.

Zakuro shook his head in dismay at the unfolding events. We haven't even been here for a whole day and people are gonna end up expelled. He then noticed he wasn't the only one spectating. He wondered what Sanabi and James were thinking as they watched with supposed judgemental eyes. As Headmistress's speech was done and that Deputy Headmistress Kaede finished addressing the members of House Dango, he figured he should follow here to the Dango Dorms. Well, guess I should keep moving then. He thought mildly to himself. Zakuro stood up and began following Kaede.

Lilyth smiled as the woman in charge of her house ran out yelling playfully, there was no doubt that she would end up liking this teacher. She then ran after Alcina grinning as she went. The tiny girl was amazingly fast as she was soon out of the doors and on her way to her new "home".

Power lies within our minds... James reflected quietly during Kaede's small speech. "I am in the right place," he whispered to himself quietly full of confidence about his future. He then began to follow the deputy headmistress to their dorms, making sure to be near enough to be able to hear anything she might wish to say during the walk. James was ready to learn everything he could from these teachers, and in front of him was one ready to teach, if only by example for the moment.
