A small yawn escaped the contours of her mouth. The sun was really starting to do its work and Ebony was finding it hard to keep her eyes open. Though a nap really would hit the spot right then, the Brit was thinking it was probably bad manners for her to nod off in the middle of a party. Even if it was a pool party.
The violet haired female got up from her lounge chair and gave a stretch before tossing her shades off and sauntering towards the deeper end of the pool where the diving boards were located. She was careful to make her strides slow and slinky, hoping to catch the wandering eyes of any (or all) single guys who happened to look her way. Think of it as a way to boost her previously bruised ego and forget about who she may or may not have inadvertently harmed during her business hours.
Gliding across the tallest diving board, Ebony's steps and form were bordering perfection, as she would have nothing less. One major jump had her air born instantly, her body suspended there for just a quick moment before tumbling and twirling her way smoothly into the water below. The cold water hitting her sun warmed skin was shocking at first, but very much invigorating and welcomed.

Domevlo watched as Varun took off for a moment he just stared after him befor turning to the rabbit taking in her features for future recognition. This one was Lulu, he reminded himself then gold eyes moved toward Varun remembering him but making a note to get his name right. Watching the leviathan, Domo knew these contraptions, he'd seen them on TV in a commercial. There was only one problem, two guns and three people, not good. Watching Varun carefully he smiled under his mask though his expression remained neutral through his eyes. "Here." He offered to Varun. "No need. Has own." He offered and hurried toward where his guardian sat.
Shifting past the cowboy he dove straight for his bag, shuffling around in it before pulling out a spray can. "Ah!" Brandishing it overhead he smiled his hidden pleasure and quickly made to leave before said can was snatched from his grasp.
"Oh no you don't kiddo, that's not a toy. I only let you bring it if you promised not to use it... are ya sayin' ya gonna break you're promise?"
Frowning the lead frei eyed his cowboy guardian sizing the taller man and his objective. "Domo play! Splash with guns." He pointed to the other two frei's. "Two gun, three us, not good. Get can, then spray too."
Thanatos looked up to find the situation at hand smiling to himself. "I see. Even so this is not a toy. Hold you're horses kiddo, I got something for ya." Stuffing the can back in the bag he shuffled around before pulling out a clear spray bottle, one filled with water, a similar format to Domevlo's usual spray cans. "Here, this is safer and you can spray. See." He gave the bottle a squirt watching it fill the air with a mist. "Turn this nob and it sprays straight." With another demonstration, Domo almost squealed with excitement. "Now be good and go play." Handing it over the bottle was yanked in mid air before the lead frei was happily squeezing the bottle and heading back to the duo.
"Domo has! See!" He held up his bottle of water, smiling as he demonstrated the two settings just as Xan had. "Domo play now, yes?"

No time like the present, right? Stop being such a nervous wuss and just go.
Connor fought the urge to tug the bandanna covering his eye down further, a nervous habit he'd been trying to get rid of. He was not going to let what happened change his life and he was not going to feel ashamed or hide. Confidence. If you couldn't actually summon any, then fake it and it'll be there eventually.
The man took a breath and headed into the group of people, angling himself towards the pool. Perhaps a swim would be a little much at the moment, but the pool seemed a perfect place to mingle. He snagged a drink from a cooler, shaking the ice from the can before popping the top and settling himself by the pools edge.

Rivener snickered at Lucia's reaction. He'd pretty much expected that. "We can just wait until they're done playing with the guns, yeah. I don't think it hurts as much as the paint ones, but it does make you wet." Riv suddenly had a very wandering thought about girls and waterguns and getting thoroughly soaked like on tv... Hm. Ok, that was DEFINITELY not okay to think about. He cleared his throat softly and looked aside, following the kitten's gaze to the music booth.
Lucia's suggestion, accompanied by that sexy grin, made Riv blink in confusion for only a second before he put on his best sultry smirk as well, reacting before he could think it through. "Of course I like to dance!" YOU IDIOT, stop flirting! his brain told him, wiping the smirk quite effectively from his face. "Uh, b-but, uh. That is, I, ah... OH! I promised Sevvie I'd go get him once I made sure this place wasn't so bad. So, I should go do that." The ruby eyes had darted around to make sure the fairy frei wasn't here; that would have ruined his lie. He was simply the first person Riv had thought of when asking himself "Who would like a pool party?!"
Smiling apologetically, Riv lifted himself from the reclining chair but didn't move away quite yet. "C'mon, I can at least accompany you to your chair before I go. Maybe we can dance once I get back, okay?" The Scorpion extended a hand down to the girl, unknowingly smiling his honeyed smile. It was just like a reflex now!
[[I did tell Slann I'd have Riv go kidnap Sevilin, so I had to cut this short. TwT Sorry! Riv will come back for a dance later though! D:]]

Once the purple haired female broke the surface, she relaxed back on the water to float idly about. A sigh released as Ebony relished in the calming aura of the moment, even if a bunch of people were horse playing around her. It was good to be able to relax from time to time. More often than not the Brit was wound very tightly. Secrets had a way of doing that to a person, but what could you do? It wasn't like she could see herself quitting her career anytime soon. Even if she contemplated such a notion, what would Ebony do instead?
Her slate colored eyes peered up when she'd floated closer to the edge of the pool where a nervous looking man sat. Though he was alone, the male's eyes or eye rather, shone with longing. Ebony repositioned her body to an upright position before settling herself to hang off the side of the pool next to him.
"Hot one isn't it?" she asked with a faint smile, her submerged legs swaying below slow to keep afloat.

Varun watched Domo warily, a confused frown sliding over his features as the grey Raevan rejected his offer departed his company. Fins and wings began to spread out to the side, the redhead was clearly put-out he'd been so blatantly refused when he'd actually attempted something resembling friendliness. Sure, there were selfish motives behind sharing his toys, namely not having to play by himself, but Varun had offered something of his all the same and Domo- What was that? He'd come back with something else!
The leviathan huffed softly, still put out that silly little thing had been chosen over his brightly-colored toy and. Oh well. LuLu wouldn't, right? Offering the rabbit Frei the squirt gun Domo had given back, Varun motioned to his own red-and-yellow-and-orange toy (no, he wasn't biased about colors, not at all) and floated right to the edge of the pool. Screwing the cap off the back piece, the Raevan sank closer to the water and dunked the toy, waiting until all the bubbles rose to the surface before pulling it back and twisting the top back on tightly. "Like this," he murmured, taking the orange handle at the front and giving it a few good pumps. His squirt gun was not excessively large (Kinsey had downright refused to buy him anything that required two hands to hold), but the tank was big enough.
Once he'd built up enough pressure, Varun swiveled and floated back a few steps before opening fire on Domo. He only unleashed a few seconds worth of water, but it left the leviathan feeling much better about the entire thing. "That? Perfect," he preened, pleased he'd gotten the gun to work properly on the first try. The spray wasn't enough to hurt, but it was definitely enough to get someone wet if Varun trained the gun on them. "No close, though, he added, floating closer to pat LuLu's gun. "Hurt. Kinsey says. No." And while Varun was all for breaking rules, the redhead was not particularly fond of the idea of losing his new toys.
"Play now?" he asked, floating back again. He motioned at LuLu, waiting for her to fill her squirt gun while he built up pressure again. That was the problem with these things, took a lot of effort for not a lot of water. "Ready? Ready, set, go!"

Josh watched as Yuurei heaved herself out of the pool. It was all done in one quick, graceful motion. I was a lovely sight watching her delicate muscles work in harmony; however, Josh couldn’t help but notice one thing.
She took his spot.
The boy huffed a sigh and lifted himself out of the tepid water. He nonchalantly flopped next to her and retorted, “It still looks fine.” He gave he a wink then continued, “I have not been doing much. Mainly taking care of LuLu. She can be a handful. What about you?” Just as Josh spoke about the rabbit frei, he looked over the pool to see what she was conspiring to do. Oh goodness… She had a gun.
It was a water gun; still, Josh couldn’t help but fear the outcome of his timid girl being exposed to a toy weapon. He would have to just wait and see.
LuLu was distracted from Varun’s water gun when Domo left to confront his guardian. Just as Varun had, Domo had pulled a new toy from his bag. LuLu made a mental note to check her guardian’s bag later.
The female raevan was jolted from her thoughts as a water gun was shoved in her hands. Her lavender eyes fell on the plastic toy to examine it once more before they lowered to watch Varun’s demonstration. So she had to take the lid off, put water in it, close it, then pull the lever it the front. LuLu’s head was spinning from the multiple steps. Why couldn’t there just be two? Her ears gave an agitated twitch.
She took a moment to sort the steps out in her head and repeat them to herself mentally. Once she felt comfortable reciting them she began to follow Varun’s instructions. The trip to the water’s surface was not that far for her considering how low she floated. It was only a matter of moments before she found her self with a fully loaded death bringer… err, water gun. When she ‘stood’ back up she was horrified to see that Domo was already soaked from head to ribbon. She gasped and was about to ask if was hurt; however, the raevan stopped when she noticed he was fine. Just a bit water logged. Her eyes followed the thin stream of water being pumped from Varun’s gun. So there was one more step: pull the trigger. LuLu happily complied.
Her gun hit spot on soaking Varun in an instant.

Lucia smiled and placed her hand in Rivener’s floating up and next to him, a smile on her face. She was disappointed he wanted to leave her, but she was being treated kindly, so it was okay. Floating with him, around the far side of the pool, away from the water bullets and their guns, the kitten stopped him when they reached her and Yuurei’s stuff. “You’ll definitely dance with me later?” she asked with a wink as she laid down on her designated lounge chair. Yuurei had spread out her purple and black towel with the arched cat silhouette and Lucia ran her fingernails over the soft surface and sipped her bubble tea again, the tapioca pearl gliding smoothly up the straw.
Yuurei kicked her legs slowly, creating waves in the cool water. ”I’ve been busy. Taking care of Lucia, for the most part,” she said, trying not to think of the frei’s misadventures, staying out all night, and the other sorts of trouble she had gotten in so far. ”And then I’ve also been working on my own work and stuff. I’ve been busy,” she repeated. She smiled as Lucia and Rivener floated past them, and, as the raevan sipped her bubble tea, Yuurei remembered her jello shots, which would be melting in the heat if they were not eaten soon. "I brought some Jello shots if you want some." She smiled at Josh, not considering anyone's ages.

Initially, Alex paid the invitation no mind. She was busy and the name wasn't anything she recognized (Ebony Shade? Couldn't be a real name, but wicked cool if it was!). Perhaps for all she'd been through in a short amount of time, however, she was more aware of Zul and his actions. She caught him staring out the window frequently where they'd spread Lorenzo's ashes, or taking only an idle interest in his games. The Italian made the decision then to go to the party, on the chance that some of the Raevans might be there - especially one or two in particular. Zul needed his friends.
And so, with a warning of "We wont stay long," the feisty zoologist and her charge found themselves walking from the truck to the main festivities. Alex's hair was up in her usual style, although rather than pick a one piece or a sarong, she more rashly wore a white bikini and bottom set with variant shades of blue splashed over it. Her right leg - from mid-thigh down - was covered by something that looked like half of a pair of chaps, tied at the bikini bottom and the hem of which wafted neatly around her ankle. It left the scar on her ribs and over her hip bare, but she didn't mind; it'd never stopped her before.
Zul floated anxiously at her side, fussing with the leather strap on his bicep, naturally thinking of one certain Raevan he'd like to see. He knew he wouldn't go near the pool, but it sounded like a good day to sun himself, at the very least, perhaps remind himself of the simpler things he liked to do...even if his sun-bathing partner was no longer with him.
"How long will we be?" he inquired quietly, his usual self-confident demeanor a little lackluster.
Alex looked over to the Frei, resting a hand just beneath his wing. "I think it depends on who is there, don'tcha think? Let's see how we feel. Play it by ear, okay?"
The demon nodded, blue eyes turning towards the crowd as they found the destination. "Fair enough."

Rivener grinned at Lucia as she lay down on her towel. He nodded, tilting his head as he spoke. "Of course! I promise, later, we'll dance." He shot her a final sultry smirk before turning, ready to head to his pack to retrieve his cell phone and give Sevilin a call. Perhaps the ocean frei was already on his way, after all.
Half-way back to his side of the pool, Riv's ruby eyes spotted something- or rather, someone he had been waiting to see. The Sigel's face brightened immensely as he turned to face the entrance, beaming outright at Zul. He resisted the urge to fly over there full-tilt and grab up the other in a possessive hug: Rivener wasn't sure how appreciated that would be in front of all these people. Riv himself felt his heart race at the thought, but perhaps Zul wouldn't share that feeling.
Instead, Riv lifted a hand and waved hello, smiling adoringly and wondering if he'd be noticed. He wouldn't want to monopolize, but-... Urgh, if Zul didn't come to him first, Rivener would smother down the disappointment and go over.
Aphismet had only just finished calling home when he spotted Rivener returning, the Scorpion stopping half-way. Ah, by the look on his face, that could only be one person. And with Zul would be...
"Ah!" Aphismet nearly choked on his own breath as he spotted Alex. A hot blush colored his cheeks and he did his best to suppress the silly grin from his face. Holy HELL. Curves! Skin! Ohhh god! Aware that he was vaguely drunk on the sight alone, Aphismet cleared his throat and turned his gaze away. He couldn't go talk to her, not right now, not with her looking like that. Who knew what kind of stupid things would come out of his mouth?! He'd make an a** of himself, surely. N-no, for now he'd just... just look. And try to get used to it. When he didn't feel like his heart would jump out of his throat, then he'd go say hello. Yes. That was a perfectly acceptable plan.

Kuna had long since settled back down in her chair, thoroughly enjoying the feel of the sun's warm rays on her skin. Yes, this definitely needed to be done more often. Even aside from the simple pleasure of sun-bathing, the people watching was quite entertaining too. Well, half-people watching really. Thanatos never did answer her question about what Domevlo and the others were exactly, but he was understandably distracted with watching his charge.
As amber eyes slid over the area, the green-haired woman noticed yet another of the unique creatures entering the scene. Once again, she had to wonder to herself just how many of these there actually were- and why she had never seen any before. I need to get out more, she thought to herself with a faint smile, watching as the one called Rivener waved to the newcomer.

Rong Wei had been left to her own devices for quite some time now, the man she'd been speaking with having gone off to make a phone call, and somehow or another she'd found her way to one of the more empty chairs that didn't happen to be surrounded by the floaters or by people probably owning one of the floaters. She was settled in rather nicely, her pants off and folded at her side, the sun beating down on skin that now gave off the smell of baking bananas thanks to the trouble of scented sunblock.
A few drinks had passed her lips during this time, sadly none of them alcoholic since she was too lazy to go and address the DJ for anything strong, and as she lowered her bottle of water she happened to notice that the conversations seemed to have shifted. People and things sounded like they were leaving . . just as more were arriving.
Rong Wei knew these new arrivals as well, she'd done some serious damage to the woman in terms of making her pretty, and when the effort of getting up to go say something had crossed the Chinese woman's mind she was stopped by watching the large floater from before look towards the new arrivals as well.
"Oh ho."

Alex had a hard time absorbing the crowd - while she wasn't terribly surprised (the Lab always had a wonderful turn out, and anyone who was a friend of the Lab was a friend of hers), it was still overwhelming to see so many people crowded around the pool. That was the funny part - everyone was around the pool, with only two or three in it. Well, at least she knew where she'd be headed! Her green eyes flit over everyone gathered, noting the Raevans; she was thrilled to see some she recognized, like Varun and LuLu, and one she was unfamiliar with, a cat-looking creature that looked very much like a poster child for summer bodies.
The woman smiled politely to the people she knew and those she didn't, making her way to the pool and carefully slipping her legs in, taking a seat on the second stair in the shallow end. There, she observed the three closest that were interacting with a fond smile. She'd have to find Kinsey and Xan to see how they were doing.
Zul was grateful for his woman's departure, as he didn't quite know what to make of the party and wasn't entirely comfortable with hiding behind her while he figured it out. Taking a deep breath, the barely-smiling demon floated a bit further into the crowd, blue eyes scouring the chairs. There was that hair-woman he recognized, to which he gave a polite nod of acknowledgement. He didn't really know what he was looking for, only knew what he hoped for after all that had transpired; a little comfort, a lot of hugs and compliments and--
--waving--
"Rivener." He'd almost looked right over the Sigel, the shirtless Raevan having almost been missed without the jacket he was so used to seeing by now. The faint smile on his lips cracked into a larger, excited grin, the pensiveness sliding off his face completely. The demonic Frei found himself all but racing through the collected towards the Scorpion. He strayed too close to the pool, and rather than right his course, he used his momentum and a flap of wings to 'jump' over the corner of the pool. He didn't land all that gracefully, but it was just as well, as he crashed directly into the Sigel he was aiming for.
In a tangle of arms and careful turn of his head so as not to skewer the Scorpion with his horns, he lifted his chin and gave Rivener the smile he used only with him, a full and private expression. "Hi." On the heels of that, "Missed you."

Rivener had seen the blue eyes turn to him as Zul looked around, and the Scorpion's smile brightened a smidge. The demon nearly skimmed him over without recognizing, blinking back over a split second after sliding away. Ah, the missing shirt and the tied-up hair must have been strange. Oh well, Rivener didn't care as long as Zul DID recognize him, and by the wide grin on the frei's face it was definitely no question. Rivener watched with growing excitement, his own wings flapping softly, as Zul all but ran towards him. Zul was even cutting that last corner, jumping over the pool's last expanse in his hurry! Rivener laughed happily, airily, as he caught Zul easily when the demon crashed into his arms.
Rivener hugged the other tightly, secretly basking in the feel of skin-on-skin like this. Zul looked up at him then, wearing that smile Rivener so loved to see. He smiled back with all the affection he reserved solely for the demon, although with a clearing of his throat the Scorpion tried to keep himself just slightly aloof and mysterious. "Zul, I missed you too. I am so glad to see you, I was very much hoping you'd come today." Riv moved down just slightly, his lips wanting to seek out the other's, but the Scorpion stopped himself almost instantly. Not here, in front of all these people. They'd bother them, try to pry them apart or some other ridiculous thing. Instead the Sigel contented himself with lifting a clawed hand, running his fingers through the other's dual-colored hair. "How are you? You look well."

The grin he gave Rivener was both pleased and comfortable, leaning up to meet the Sigel for their kiss - but the older Raevan stopped. Zul gave a brief flick of his blue eyes at their surroundings, coming to the conclusion that the Scorpion may not want to lay claim to him publically, after their last discussion. It put a slight damper on his improved mood, but it wasn't enough to wipe the happiness from his face.
Impossibly blue eyes closed, trying not to lean too much into the fingers in his hair. Oooh, but he loved that! "I am..." His eyes cracked open again, shifting to the side and downwards. How was he? He'd lost his friend, experienced an ugly part of humanity that he still felt he narrowly survived, he'd been questioning himself. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he corrected himself that he'd also stood up for his woman, he'd learned invaluable lessons, and he'd grown up, just a little bit. "...not sure how I am. But I'm here. I think that means I'm not doing badly."
He paused in thought, before adding, "I pressed your flower. It's not as bright, but still beautiful." The demon managed to keep himself from laying his head on Rivener's shoulder, from snuggling up to the Sigel - pretty much, he was keeping himself from doing everything he wanted to, and not for everyone else's sake, but for Rivener's. "You? You are well? You must be. You look better everytime I see you."
Alex glanced over when she heard laughter, catching sight of Rivener and Zul colliding. Despite her uncertainty and misgivings about just what exactly was going on between them, it gave her a great deal of warmth to see them together. Zul was at his happiest with the Sigel, and really, she could not begrudge the older Raevan that. But if Rivener was here, that meant Aphismet might be...
The woman simultaneously sat up straighter and sunk further into the pool, nervously tucking part of her bangs behind her ears. Right. She was here to observe the Raevans, and she'd do just that! As soon as she could get her eyes to stop glancing around, anyway.
