Tawa'di was surprised to see one of their kin here. One who must have been a child when they were forced to migrate to their new home, one that had been lost along the way. He offered a nod in acknowledgement to her, before taking her small offering. He wondered what he would see through the smoke.

It was a very calm reading, one that told of a lion who finally made her way home. She was ready to start her life anew, within the home she was born in. That was a welcome sight indeed.

"Your home is within the Sky Clan, Paka'Eusi. Go there, and be one again with the lands that have waited so long for your arrival."

Slowly, Kubwa rose from where he sat. The brown lion had journeyed far in search of a new home. Dangling from his maw was a strange thing indeed, a long piece of leather. On one end was a square piece of wood, with what appeared to be a stick that fit in holes on the other end. He had brought the long-worn collar he'd once bore when he tromped around with humans. Dropping it before Tawa'di, Kubwa bowed his head to the other lion. "I am Kubwa'shinda, and I seek a home in a real pride. I give my greatest possession, the last mark of the connection I once had to humans. Where do I belong here, in the wilds amid real lions, amid this very real pride?"

Nishan had been around the Ela quite a while now, yet not until now had he called it home. Then again, did he need to? If there was true place he belonged, it was with Kule, wherever that may be. That place was here, so here is where Nishan would stay as well.

He waited patiently as the lions were sorted, eventually approaching Tawa'di himself and giving a polite boy. "My name is Nishan. Please tell me where to go."

Tawa'di watched the flames grow as the smoke swirled. The girl before her seemed pleseant, and from what he could read she was thrilled to be here. The old lion was pleased, as he had seen too many that were unsure about their futures. Gambling on the hopes that this would be there home. They had a lot of work to do to prepare themselves for it, but she seemed ready.

"You belong in the Earth Clan. Go to where your heart lies, and you will continue to find yourself filled with joy."

After the last lioness had left, Tawa'di glanced up at the sky. The moon was sinking low, and it seemed that they were starting to reach towards the end. The mass of lions awaiting their turn had shrunk, and most now were meeting their new clanmates, making new friends. Pleased, the old lion stretched just a bit before piling on more herbs into the fire. It had begun to grow into a decent-sized flame, and the old lion could feel the heat seeping into his bones. Though the heat was uncomfortable, it made it easier for him to shuffle around. Getting old was never fun.

The pair that approached him next were two young sisters. Nothing needed to tell him that they were; their coats shared enough similarities that it was obvious. He accepted their offers with a nod, brushing the both of them together. What the smoke had told him was true; they wanted to stick together. No problem there, as sometimes family was best set together.

"The two of you will live in the Wolf Clan. Your new home awaits you, all you need to do is let your paws carry you there."

Tawa'di's eyes took a moment longer to linger over the next lioness. While to his trained eye it was obvious she wasn't tattooed, her distinct markings could almost mimic theirs. It was interesting, and amusing. Perhaps she had felt almost at home with the members, their own bodies always cluttered with stories of their past.

He accepted the feather, dangling it over the flame before dropping it in. It curled slowly, seeming to accept the flame, yet resist it as well. The smoke was thin, trailing around it it's own swirls. No hesitation, but just a twinge of apprehension and excitement for the future.

"One such as you, Mileli, belongs with the Mantis Clan. You can rest there, as well as let your heart grow to love the land you now call home."

Tawa'di laughed. The absense of an offering was a bit unusual, but he could work around it. He let his eyes drop into the flames, the dance of them pulling him into a deep trance. Through this trance, he would try to call on his Seeing abilities. If he could see into the future of this lion, he should be able to judge just where he belonged. The only downside to this was that there were many different possible futures, and the one he was seeing might not be the true one. Tawa'di had to put faith into it, though.

"I See you within the Bird Clan, Makovu. You seem to have much about your past that haunts you. You will come to learn that letting go of the past is best, as you learn more about our stories of how we came to be." He slowly eased out of the stronger part of the trance, looking up at the young lion. "Only then will you fing the pure joy in life. You will be able to do it, just keep at it."

The old lion blinked as the next one offered him something he had never seen before. He nudged it into the flames, watching the wood catch instantly, as the other part only darkened in colour. It reeked of something he was vaguely aware of. Like the scent of death. Undistrubed, he brushed more herbs onto the flames, covering the scent.

What he could see was the lion with two legged creatures, something like monkeys that enjoyed wearing something other than their own skin. The old lion didn't delve on the issue, though; this was all in the past. The future was what he was most concerned about. Lions came here to start over, to adapt to their beliefs and teachings.

"You, with your odd past, should live within the Sky Clan. Your stories that you must wish to share will be accepted there, as well as your opinion. You have seen things many of us have not, and through that you will be a great asset."

Tawa'di nodded to the next one, a face he recognized as lingering in the lands for a while. He was pleased to find that the lion wanted to stay here. And as he knew a bit more about the lands than some of the newer ones, he wouldn't be as much of a burden to the clans. Burdern was a harsh word, but there was a little adjusting to do in a new home, like any lion would go through.

He lulled himself into a trance again, not needing to go quite as deeply as the last time. He knew this lion better than the other one, and so he could See easier. It was still exhausting, and he only hoped he wouldn't need to do it much more, if at all.

"Nishan, I See you within the Bird Clan. Your strength will be cherished there, as well as your mind. Go to where you belong, and find yourself within the ways of our people."

The large male watched the collar burn, silently bidding it final good riddance. No more would his thoughts and memories be plagued with visions of humans... The past was behind him now, with only the future ahead of him... As vast as the sky above. He looked to it, smiling at the thing for which his new clan took its name. Looking to Tawa'di, he bowed his head again. "Thank you... I shall cherish my new home."

Hesitation dogs his steps as Njozi moves forward, having hung back all this time. Call it fear, call it nervousness, call it what you will - the dark lion has waited as long as possible before taking his place before the great leader of the pride he wishes to join. But as he draws nearer he finds his steps lighter, his mind increasingly clear. This is where he belongs, now, this is where he should be! Standing before Tawa'di, he offers a formal bow before introducing himself.

"I am Njozi, once known as Chwelewa. With these offerings I wish to leave my past behind, and be known as Njozi Waya." And he casts a glance over his shoulder towards Makonde Waya, the lioness who led him from the darkness. A tentative smile dances upon his muzzle as he offers two things to Tawa'di and his fire. A thick lock of his white mane, along with a small scrap of the pelt he had worn in the life that now seems so far away.

---((Njozi is joining the Wolf Clan with his mate-to-be Makonde, and Mavunde is going where the fates place him!))---

And after Njozi has said his piece and given his offering, a small slate-coloured lion saunters forward. Moving with the self-assurance of a lion far larger than himself, the delicately-patterned male mimics Njozi's bow and then offers a flashy grin. "I am Mavu," he pauses, then offers his full name in a lower voice, "Mavunde, rather." A small grimace twists the smile he wears before he smooths his expression.

"I came to your lands seeking beauty and inspiration, and found more than I could ever hope for. With your blessing, I'd like to remain here among your pride." And he slices a small chunk of his well-coiffed mane (being careful to take it from an area that wouldn't show!) and offers it to Tawa'di.

Hai'Maita watched as her son approached Tawa'di, had his destiny decided, and walked away. She sighed, equal parts happy and bittersweet to see Makovu walk his own path.

"It is the way of all things." she murmured quietly from where she lay waiting her turn. "I suppose it's natural for a mother to think of her children as cubs, even when they're larger than her." She chuckled dryly, and noticed a lull in the number of lions approaching Tawa'di. Though she was little more than skin and bones these days, she nonetheless heaved herself to her feet, and padded over to the lion with as much dignity as her wasted frame could offer.

She sat, and deposited a fragment of bone from her vulture skull, as well as a few clippings from her tail tuft into the fire. As the bone blackened, and the fur began to smoke, she lifted her head to regard Tawa'di with tired eyes.

"My name is Hai'Maita, and I would like to know where my destiny lies."

An uneasy feeling rose in her throat as she watched all the lions gathering, watched as each one approached Tawa'di. Ma'rihn had never felt comfortable with celebrations, if only because so many lions gathered around that she did not know. Back home in the Pridelands she had been the same way, preferring to keep to those lions that she knew well, usually introduced to her through her family. But, even then she could be observed as quiet and meek. So, the young lioness waited for a large amount of the lions to go through the ceremony before stepping up to Tawa'di herself.

She smiled, an uncertain flash of white teeth, and she seemed to stumble over her own words, not really sure what she wanted to say, or what was impressive to say. "Hi..." her voice was soft, but audible, her green eyes anxiously casting to the side. She realized she might be sounding ridiculous, and reflexively she smiled again. "I'm Ma'rihn, and I would be honored to be allowed to stay in your lands... it feels like home." She offered up a lock from her white tail, another smile flashing across her face, a warmer expression, an easier look. Really, this wasn't as bad as she thought it'd be.

Mai nodded to the elder in silence. With a smile and a purr, she brushed against her sister before leaving to join their new family.

Tawa'di chuckled at the lion before him. One that he really didn't have to read, but he would do so out of respect. The lion knew exactly where he wanted to go, and almost boldly stated it too. He recieved little from the smoke, as the flame consumed what he had offered. The scent of the fur was overpowered by the herbs, and the smoke seemed to almost hide within the scent itself.

"Your path is clear, Njozi. You are determined in your destiny, and it is apparent that you should walk with the Wolf Clan."
