Chris turned away from their thoughts of betting long enough to watch the next two campers cross. Or try to, at least.

*SPLOOSH*

It wasn't the true path either, but it worked well enough. 22 17 rocks fell under Rosa's paws, before a river dweller finally got her at the 23rd 18th step. So close, and yet so far!:

User Imageoh no oh no oh no...another water challenge? seriously? ozzie's heart sunk. he knew he had to try for his cabin or they risked having to vote off another beaver. but water!?!?! he supposed that chris was going to somehow winding up making good on his comments during the last challenge. he sat on the shore hugging his tail while he watched the other campers, some much more successful than others.

ozzie slowly got up, took a giant breath, then frogleaped across the water, hoping his paws would hit rocks with every leap. "ohcripesohcripesohcripesohcripes!" he squealed with each leap.

Chicka, who had been mysteriously absent for the other challenges (... certainly no thanks too those late night zergs she'd been a part of lately), watched with a bit of horror as camper after camper fell down into the waters. She gulped as she took her first few steps, confidence rising and dwindling in tandem.

"Here goes nothin'!"

Lucifer let out a low growl, his tail giving an irritated twitch. Water, he -hated- water. Why couldn't there be any challenges that had to do with FIRE?! He was ******** tired of water! ARGGG!

He had stepped to the water's edge, though making sure he was well out of range of chef and chris (he didn't trust either of them to not push him in). Grrrr...

"Hey, gators, I'll make a deal with you, you don't chomp me and there's a box of crunchberries in it for you."

And if they did chomp him....well someone was getting their butt chomped by a ******** shark. )<

This wasn't exactly the way Billy wanted to end his life.

Maybe choking on doritos or getting killed by a magic missle but... This reminded him too much of Stever Irwin though it was a different animal that he had met his end with...

Man, lookit them go! Chef wagged his tail as camper after camper failed the challenge. "Man! Lookit them," he grumped, "Gone without a fight! These maggots need some trainin' yo."

Ozzie managed to squeal "ohcripesohcripesohcripesohcripes!" a grand total of sixteen times before a gator got tired of it on the 17th.

Unluckily for Lucifer, his beloved pal Laz3r was off on union break. The gators, being carnivores, didn't care much for crunchberries either. In fact, Lucifer himself was quite tasty and was caught up in Chicka's wipe, having followed her awesome waterwalkingonhiddenrocks abilities step for step.

The good news: Billy was still alive!
The bad news: Billy's first step was directly into the mouth of a waiting gator.

Next time, Billy should really look into using a pair of loaded dice to avoid critical failures like that.

"Sucks for youuuu dude..told you those sharks took breaks! Ha!"

Best. Challenge. Ever. He and Chef were going to have to work super hard to top this one.

After many drawn-out moments of watching and deliberating over the paths the other campers were taking, Simon finally mustered up some courage and carefully stepped into the water. Regardless of how far he got, how he consistently stumbled, flailed and had to windmill his arms in order to keep his balance would prove to be nothing short of hilarious.

User ImageKelly really did not want to be gator food and she gave a half-hearted glare towards Chris and Chef. She couldn't blame them for wanting to have fun while they were here but she could resent the hell out of them for making her part of the entertainment. She had watched some of the others go before her, wincing every time one got chomped. But there was no time like the present and she was not going to let her team down...she hoped. Taking a deep breath, she ran as fast as she could, hoping against hope that if she did land on a gator she'd be fast enough to not disturb them and get eaten.

User ImageBobby had been sitting on the bank watching the other Audios trying to jump across the hidden rocks. It was like playing a mad game of follow the leader.

After watching enough Audios turn into croc-chow, Bobby decided to give it a try. He tentatively stepped forward, waiting like a gentleman for Kelly to give it a go before him. Silently he was praying that she'd make it (even if she was on the other team)... he was also praying that he'd make it too.

When it was his turn, the cool Audio took off his sunglasses, tightened the tie on his swim trunks, and then hopped out on the first rock. He hoped his memory would serve him well.

Grumbling, Ratchet finally got into the water. When she heard that they'd be crossing a river, ideas flew through her head. She, frankly, couldn't see why building a catapult was disallowed; it would get her team safely across the reptile-infested waters. But noooo, they had to actually try to swim this dang thing. Hoisting her toolbelt up on her waist, she gingerly waded into the water and felt around for rocks.

Simon put on a good show for 20 steps. Well, at least until the 2st step -- he tripped on the unseen rock, stumbled forward to find a successful 21st rock, then pitched sideways and fell into the waiting jaws of a gator for his 22nd step.

Hint: Now would be a good time to attack the darkness, providing that you don't lose your dice in there.

Kelly managed to sprint her way 15 paces before sweet 16 revealed itself to be a gator equally practicing for the local Gator Cheer Squad. While Kelly was sprinting quickly, the gator managed to jump up and do a backflip, catching the red Audio in her jaws before sinking gracefully back down into the water.

There was a bit of scattered applause from the host, chef, and campers still waiting and delaying the inevitable.

[*there is a blueprint hidden here. Notreally.*]

No matter how hard Ratchet could try, the small pieces of grass on the shoreline could never be MacGuyvered into a catapult. Well, maybe if you managed to turn them into a feather duster and used it to tickle Chef Hatchet into booting someone across, but then they wouldn't start on the shore and even if they did make it across, it'd be an illegal move.

Ratchet risked footpaw and limb to successfully feel out 23 rocks before the 24th was an alligator. This one happened to lose a bet with its fellows, and was wearing a steel mouthguard to prevent swallowing any of Ratchet's beloved tools as well as to prevent the tinkerer from trying to see if the reptile was mechanical or not.

User ImageLuke had spent most of the afternoon hanging around the edges of the group, and watching as one by one his fellow campers landed in the drink. Finally, he thought that he'd watched enough to try and trace a path across, and skipped up to the shore, grinning. After all, even if he blew it, one of those nice alligators would bring him back to shore like the rest, right?
