Olin studied his surroundings. He was not used to hospital beds. Olin had always been careful. He never rushed into battle. And yet this time he was stuck. He would more than likely have scars from this for the rest of his life.
Then Olin noticed the nurse. She was cute, but that didn't matter at the moment. "Ma'am, How long do you suppose I'll be here?" he asked polightly.

"Just a few days, don't worry." she replied, bandaging the man next to Olin's arm. "You were lucky. The blade missed your liver and ribs by a few centimeters. It should leave a scar, but you were fortunate to come out alive and well."

Nef approached the bed and tossed a bit of bread on his lap. "Did you find the one you were looking for?" He asked Olin.

A few DAYS? Gah. I should have been more careful, he thought angrily.
"Thank you," he said putting on his best smile. He already hated not being able to move. How was he going to earn he meal now?
"I don't even know which demon did it," he told Nef. "I just killed every demon in sight."

"Welcome, Celcious." Kaitlyn said, running around with first-aid boxes, still in a hurry. "So many were injured..." she commented quietly, looking sadly at those who would either die or have major wounds for the rest of their lives.

Nef looked indifferently at the wounded. "They fought with honor. It was the choice of a hero. Although I think someone here was getting a little crazy." At this point he stood and asked loudly, "I'm a demon too. Aren't you gonna kill me too? Or am I too scary?" Nef chuckled and took a bite out of his own bread.

"Please, do not taunt the wounded." Kaitlyn begged. "They hurt, so there is no reason to ridicule them more. Besides, do you want them to hurt you?" she pointed out, clearly not liking his indifference and lack of concern.

Nef spat out a seed and said simply, "A battle with no purpose has no honor. It's mob psychology and I was on the brink of fighting your men. Some of you fight just to slay demons but you didn't stop to think on how human they really are." He sat in an unused chair and crossed his legs. "Olin had the right idea. Vengeance and glory are all that matter."

Kaitlyn shook her head, disapproving, since she was a pacifist, but continued to run and deliver and bandage. "Did you forget, you were the one who came to us?" she muttered under her breath. Still, seeing as she wouldn't win this arguement (after all she is just a nurse) she let it go.

"No. Vengeance and glory are what put me in this bed. If I was fighting just to save the village I'd have been more careful and less reckless. I'd have slain many more demons," Olin spat. He was angry with everything that had happened. "The people here fight to end this war. Not for glory and not to kill demons. That is a great purpose."

"Glad to hear you say so!" Nef said, bouncing out of the chair, "My enemy is Eloi Blaise, and I need some handy people to get him." He leaned towards Olin and wispered, "and the way Adal ordered the raid on the demons is not how we're going to get him." He stood up and took out a paper. "I'm starting a man-hunt for him and I need strong crazy people to help me."

Olin stared at the demon standing before him. "If you want to defeat an army, take out the general," he said finally. "But I need weapons that I can keep, as I was using borrowed tools."
Olin didn't need any enemies, and he believed that Nef had the right idea. Sure, they had killed many demons, but the demons would keep attacking if they didn't take out their leader. This was the simplest path to the end of the war.

Arc was in the equipment room taking off his chain mail. He sighedand began to talk to himself. "Oh Iola, these demons, hese humans..." He left the equipment room and headed back to everyone else. He looked like a regular human, but not to Nef by what he said earlier. He heard they're conversation about vengeance and glory. "To fight for vengeance is just cowardly." He had to put his two cents in.

"Adalgiso wanted you to keep the swords." said Kaitlyn. "He felt they would do you better than most, as they are tough to handle."
