That was true. She knew from experience Faolan would look out for her as best he could. Finishing most of her second slice of pizza rather quickly, Lee chewed on a bite of the crust and nodded. Having just talked about trust, she wasn't as hesitant as she would have been otherwise. Finished with her bite, she spoke again. "Do you still live with your parents?" She remembered Faolan moving out at a rather young age, and wondered if maybe that was common around here.

"Nae, lass. I moved out on me own last year. Me parents got them a new little baby an' I'm just in th' way around their home," Rory said, finishing up his own pizza. "We hae a lot o' kids in me family."

Lee's eyes widened at his words. Moving out at fifteen... he sure had Lee beat. And it only added to how mature he seemed. She wasn't sure if he was upset by the feeling of being in the way, but she wasn't the best at helping someone feel better, so she'd leave the subject be. "Seems like it'd be weird, having so many relatives... I'm the only child." Lee's feet started kicking under her chair and she tilted her head as she thought. "We're opposites." Even more so than she and Faolan.

"Nothin' wrong wi' opposites, eh? They're suppose t' attract, yeah?" Rory said playfully, giving an impish grin as he stood. "I donnae really mind all th' kids. It's normal fae didikai t' hae big families." He looked down at her. "So, care t' see th' home now?"

Lee's cheeks turned pink, but she couldn't keep from smiling back. She'd been hoping he'd say that. Though she nodded as he spoke, she still couldn't imagine it. It would be like it had been living with Faolan and Ellandra, only even more cramped. Lee bit her lip and smiled at the invitation, standing up after taking one last sip of her drink. "Kay."

Rory noticed her expression, thinking the girl was cute when a little embarrassed. He held out a hand to lead her to his home. "You donnae think we all live in vardos, eh? I mean, I hae 'un, but me parents hae a mobile home. I'm th' second oldest of four, if'n you're curious. Only two o' me other siblin's still live wi' our parents. Me older sister moved out t' live wi' her husband."

Feeling a little stupid, all she could think to say was, "Oh..." Lee thought perhaps Faolan and Ellandra could use one of those mobile homes once the babies came along. "How old is your sister?" It'd be nice to know how old girls usually were when they married around here. Surely, though, she wasn't seventeen and already experienced her first annulment. Lee figured that was a little unusual, even by didikai standards.

"She be a year older'n you, but she been married about, I guess, two years now," Rory answered, falling into step alongside Lee. "I knows, we get married young 'round here, but really, there weren't a doubt on her marryin' her man. They only had eyes for each other since they were weans."

"That means... sixteen, then." Lee's math skills managed at least that much. "That's..." Lee shook her head a bit at the thought. "I just couldn't picture that. Marrying so young." Even though she had married young. But in all fairness, it was out of impulse, and was more necessary than by choice. "It's really cute, though. Their story, I mean."

"I always thought so. Makes me wish I wis as lucky," Rory said, giving a slight shrug. "Sadly, nae girls in me own life." He stopped at a small green vardo with gold leafing on the carvings of rabbits that were scampering all over the sides of the wagon. "Well, here we be. This 'un is me vardo. She ain't much, but she's cozy."

Lee's jaw nearly dropped -- she had him pegged completely wrong. She thought he was a flirt, not a romantic. It certainly hadn't helped that she found out he had no girlfriend. "Seems kinda hard to believe." Lee couldn't help but blush at her own words. "Why's that?" Did he not like any girls or did girls just not like him? Neither of which seemed likely to her.
Lee oogled a bit at his vardo, keeping it to herself that the rabbits on the sides were pretty adorable, before looking up at him. "So this is where I should go to yell at you if you dun pick me up for school?"

"Just ain't found th' right girl, I guess," Rory said, scratching the back of his head. "Not fae lack o' tryin', though."
He grinned a bit at her other question. "Aye, lass. Come by anytime, e'en just t' yell at me." He glanced off, then pointed. "There gaes Faolan wi' th' rousties. Looks t' be luggin his ol' vardo wi' him." The boy looked at her again. "Is tha' th' 'un he's givin' you? He must think you're pretty special indeed."

Lee's blush deepened. What could she possibly say that wouldn't give away the fact that she had butterflies in her stomach? "S-she'll come along soon, I'm sure."
Grinning and nodding, Lee's attention was caught by the moving vardo. "Yep, that's it." Lee rubbed that back of her neck. "Think so?" She'd thought he was just being nice, considering they'd been married and all. "It's nice inside. Did Faolan ever let you see it?"

"Oh, sure. Most o' us kids been o'er t' his place at some time or other," Rory said, choosing for now to ignore her other statement, his own cheeks a little pink. "He likes t' baby-sit fae th' families about the camps. Not sure he'll do much now wi' his own bairns on th' way, though."
He looked down at her. "An' if'n I hadnae seen it afore, were you askin' me t' come hae a look, eh?"

Lee hadn't realized how much Faolan liked kids. But her thoughts were cut short when Rory caught on to what she'd be asking. Smiling with slight embarrassment, Lee nodded. "Eh, yeah..." Her fidgeting started again soon after.
