Leonard McCoy

Medical school deffiently didn’t cover the grounds of what the hell you were suppose to do in a zombie attack. Must have slipped their damn minds! McCoy snapped out his shock when Uhura dragged him away before he got himself attacked. Rule one, never leave the damn ship without a phaser! No make, that a big goddamn phaser!

Run? Run where? He thought inwardly, keeping a wary gaze on the creatures. No time to think, McCoy grabbed Uhura who in turn should have grabbed onto Janice and bolted. They were lucky the creatures weren’t fast, able to side step them. “s**t!” he snapped out hoarsely.

Blocking the way was a large band of red shirts. Yeah, the creatures were slow but trying to red rover against them was a sure way to..well, McCoy didn’t know the full length of what could happen. He glanced up at the crates. They were high enough, and as long as the creatures couldn’t climb.

“Climb!” he shouted, kneeling down, and cupping his hands together to form a platform for the women to use as a boost up the crates. “Hurry up!” McCoy tensed. He felt the breath of death almost breathing down his neck. The stench, he was use too, but not at this caliber.

They could use the communicator and call Scotty to get them the hell out of here…except. Sulu and Spock were elsewhere. What the hell would they run into?

Janice just burst into a running dash in the direction where everyone else was running. She fired her phaser once. Down. Twice. Down. Three times. Down. She had no idea what was going on, but what she did know was that death was lingering all over this place. And they needed a way out. After climbing up the crates, Uhura and janice both pulled McCoy up. She pulled out her laptop"Lets check the doors, there has to be a way out of here!" she said while keying through her laptop, Blue prints poppped up, floor pans, pass codes she was trying to pull as much information as possible things got worse. "There should be a doorway to our left that leads to a main hall. Maybe that place is clear!" yelled to Uhura.

Lieutenant Nyota Uhura....

"Forget checking the doors... Lets just blast our way out dammit!" Uhura wasn't one for beating around the bush. She liked things to be quick and easy.
She set her phaser on full power and blasted her way through the door that Spock and Sulu had went out of.
She still had part of McCoy's shirt tightly twisted around her hand.
"This way!" She called to them as the dust cleared and the door had been gone.

"Woah Woah Woah..." a familiar voice called to them.
"Whats the ru...ru....rush......?" Sulu saw the Zombies starting to close in on them.
"Holy s**t....." He reached up and pulled a rapier out of one of the 2 sheaths he had strapped to his back.
"Run! Quickly! I'll fight them off!"

"No! Sulu! They could infect you!" Uhura yelled.. Then it occured to her. Spock wasn't there. "Where the hell is Spock?"

"He.. he told me to come back and get you guys!" Sulu held his rapier out as the Zombies began to get closer. He stepped backwards with every forward step they took. "He went up to level 4 by himself! I told him not to but he wouldn't listen..."

Uhuras eyes widdened. "He... WHAT?.. Spock! No!"

The climb had been more difficult than Spock had perceived, though the cause of this could have been concluded because his mind was else where. HE wanted to know Nyota was safe and that nothing was happening. He had a sinking feeling that things were not as they seemed on this cargo ship.

Starfleet had wanted the data, very bad, as he recalled. Perhaps too much. Shrugging the thought from his mind. The half Vulcan heaved open the elevator doors. He grunted from the strain until they finally parted.

It was good to be a Vulcan, even half one. He was still superior in strength than a human. Un-holstering the phaser, he crept down the empty, and deadly silent corridors. He did not detect anything. His Vulcan ears only heard something muffled but ignored it, regarding it as the ship and his own nerves.

Spock reached the bridge quickly without incident. He inputted the code on the panel, and the door wooshed open. A cargo bay’s bridge was different in layout compared to the Enterprise. Here it was less high tech and less consoles lining around. Though what remained the same was the captain’s chair.

He inclined his head to the side. Spock noted that a person was sitting there. Approaching with caution, he spoke, “Captain.” No response. Not a good sign. Spock took a few steps forward onto the bridge and halted in his steps. Turning quickly, but not as fast as he wanted, Spock found himself tossed like a rag doll. He hit the computer console hard.

The Vulcan grunted, coughing. He clutched his side, something broke within him..his ribs felt cracked and brittle. And quickly bringing his free hand up to aim the phaser.

His gaze widen ever slightly at the monster that swatted him like a fly. Tall, bulky and quite…ugly. There was not a single piece of flesh. Its muscles pulsed, its deadly shark like smile, and beady eyes looked at him.

Green blood seeped out of the corner of his mouth. He didn’t bother to wipe it. “Halt.” It was not in his nature to do violence. But the creature’s appearance even startled him.

It was an alien species he was familiar with but it was different. Spock could not quite put a finger on it as the monster charged, full speed.

The sounds of the undeads nails clawing at the metal crates below them Echoed the room, And their screams for flesh didnt help. "Damnit!" Janice said tapping away at her keyboard with the look of desperation on her face. "These Walls are too thick, and we're heading into a location where there will be alot of frequency transmissions." She looked up at uhura, Bones and Sulu. "In other words, the further we go in, the weaker or communicator transmissions are going to be.." She pulled her communicator out of her bag. "ugh... I hate to use this certain term, but communications are dead..." she wiped the sweat off her forhead and continued tapping away.

"There should be a transmission room down the corridor to our left, We could probably use that to contact the enterprise, and for back up or ...god knows what.." She looked over the side of the crate to see that some of the undead were attempting to climb aswell. "So we could do that, or head right and run down the maintenance tunnel." She tapped away some more keys and pulled up the blueprint of the tunnels. "Turns out that they're are doorways that lead to different parts of the ship there. And atleast we'll be safe in those hallways.." what do you guys think?"

Lieutenant Nyota Uhura....

"I'm pretty sure by now, Kirk knows that something is up. Our best bet would be to wait for them to lock on to our location and beam us back onto the ship.... but we can't beam up without... Spock...."

Uhura removed her phaser from her bag. "We need to find and help Spock.. he could be in trouble!" Uhura was sick of all the technical s**t. She just wanted to get Spock and get the hell out of there... and fast, before something happened, that they would all... regret.

"I'd much rather be fighting the damn Narada right now...." Sulu crossed his arms, agreeing with Uhura. "She's right. We need to get Spock. He could be dying right now.."

Uhura gasped.

"Sorry...."

“Mr Scott, tell me you have some good news.” Kirk was on edge now. He hadn’t heard a word from the landing party in a good while and the fact of that last message hadn’t settled with him. The growing sensation of dread kept building up with each passing moment.

And the response didn’t help him either. Apparently, Scotty was unable to get on a lock on their current location. Kirk wanted to stand up and storm into the transporter room, and demand to be beamed over there…but he couldn’t leave the bridge, he could not let the current mission compromise him.

He felt all the eyes on the bridge on him. Jim cleared his throat, “Thank you Scotty..Keep me informed…and the moment you have them locked on, beam them aboard now.”

“Captain!”

He glanced over to the officer that had taken over Janice’s position for now. “What is it?”

“Ah, well sir, I’m picking up a strange source of multiply life forms on the ship…it started to pick up like crazy.” The officer responded.

“Can you tell what it is?” Jim asked, leaning forward in the chair. It wasn’t the best sign for life forms to start randomly appearing on screen.

The officer shrugged his shoulders, “No Captain..its life, but not as we know it. I’m searching through the databanks..and..s**t! The other ship’s lifeforms disappeared completely! Our scanners aren’t picking anything up!”

The Captain’s gaze widen but shook off the shock. Jim would not settle for the fact that he could have lost his friend Bones, or the others. He wasn’t on sweet terms with Spock as his future counterpart suggested. And well, he liked Uhura, just not in that same way he had in the bar.

Hell Jim figured if Spock was her type, he didn’t stand a chance. Also, it had turned him off. Damn his thoughts for wondering.

“Could be a glitch in the system…the Enterprise is nice, she might be the flagship but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her flaws…Keep trying.” Kirk ordered, leaning back in his command chair. He hailed Mr Scott on the communications again, “Scotty…any change?”

Being on top of the crates didn’t settle or ease hi nerves. McCoy glanced over the edge, nearly stumbling off. It wasn’t the height that bothered him, just only the zombies banging up against the crates trying to reach them. It could unwind a man into a fit of insanity. Bones was close to it.

Shaking his head, he glanced towards Sulu when the news arose that the half-vulcan went off on his own, “Of course he did that! Damn hobgoblin..” he cursed. “Look, just find a way out of here. I’m sure there is another lift somewhere that we could at least try and hack into…” not saying that he had the skills to do so, but McCoy was running out of options.

Bones approached Uhura, settling a hand on her shoulder, “Don’t worry..he ain’t dead until I say he is…” meaning, that vulcan will be alive and well. “Rand, was it? Lead the way. Since you have the layout.”

‘I’m asking for a damn payrise after this….Starfleet doesn’t pay me enough for this type of s**t…’ he thought.

Lieutenant Nyota Uhura....

Uhura shuddered at the fact. "Hey! Look! Over there!" She pointed to a smaller crate positioned at the edge of the large one that they were standing on.
"If we could push this crate off, we could smash some of these... things and clear a path! Sulu! Bones! come over here and help me push! Janice, you keep trying to find a path." She stepped over to the large crate and began to push.

Sulu nodded and came to her side. "PUSH!!!!!!"

With that said and done, Janice nodded her head at Uhura and continued typing away. "Perfect!" she looked up at the crew with determination in her eyes "Uhura! If we do go through there it will lead us into the second Maintenance Tunnels...and if the blue prints are still up to date......" she said while squinting at the screen. "....then that tunnel could lead us to the bridge as well!" she slammed the laptop shut and slipped it in her bag. "Lets do this!"

His breathing was becoming labored. Pain swelled within him, making movement a chore now, but he pushed himself. Spock had to finish his mission. Grunting, He pushed himself off the ground slowly. He leaned heavily against the console for support.

The Vulcan shut his eyes briefly, trying to concentrate, to meditate the pain away. Though that would take time and that was something he did not have much of. Spock turned his attention on the creature he had slain. Overloading the phaser had proven a wise last resort. Though now, his weapon was useless but he could not part for it, in case he managed to fix it.

Clutching his side, Spock staggered his way slowly across the bridge, searching for the dock port where the data would be stored. If memory served him correctly, it should be under the captain’s chair. The reasoning behind that was because the captain had to keep a stardate log and thus the ship’s main functional log was stored in their as well. It was the safest spot.

Instead of kneeling down in front of the command chair, Spock collapsed. He had barely reached up and grasped the armrest, keeping himself from completely falling to the ground. Wincing, the first officer eased himself into a kneeling position despite the pain, and pulled out the hidden compartment underneath the chair.

The data chip he pulled out glowed a faint blue, indicating the data was still intact. His mission was nearly completely. Spock slowly stood up, and leaned against the chair for support as he flipped out his communicator.

“…Spock…” he cleared his throat, trying to compose himself, “….Spock….here…” the Vulcan frowned ever slightly in discomfort when he received static, “…Doc…tor……Uh---ur-a….Respond…”

His gaze followed to what Uhura was pointing to. Bones nodded, agreeing with her plan. It’d work, in theory. He wasn’t entirely sure how the zombies would react, and if they could adapt. Bones doubted the latter part but in space, you could never trust things at face value. Sure, the little buggers were being mindless and just want one thing from them, but hell, things adapt.

Shrugging his mind from those thoughts, the doctor headed over to the crate that needed to be pushed. Bones pressed his shoulder up against, and using his legs to propel him against it. He was a doctor not a damn crate mover!

With Uhura’s plan and Janice’s usage of that tunnel. They made it through, and not without some incident. McCoy had gotten a scrape from one of the zombies. It didn’t look like the wound was deep, but that didn’t make it a good thing either. With the safety of the tunnel for now, Bones paused, ripping his other sleeve, used it to bandage his arm. “…damn…”

Lieutenant Nyota Uhura....

She continued to push on the large crate. Finally after several minutes of pushing, she Sulu and Bones managed to push it off onto the crowd of zombies.
The sound of crushing bones, and spurting body fluids made Uhura cringe.
But for a split moment, she thought she had heard Spocks voice coming from her communicator. It was very faint.
She reached into her bag and pulled it out. She placed the small phone like device to her ear and listened closely.

"What is it?" Sulu asked as he stepped carefully across two crates so he could hear better.

"I think... Its Spock..." She told him. "Spock...? Is that you!? Are you alright? Say something? Whats your condition!" She looked over at Bones. "Get your medical equipment ready, and Janice... have you gotten that route yet? We need to go before more of those monsters get here."

Janice nodded briefly "yeah, We have to go through this doorway and we'll access the Maintenance tunnel. Good news is that people hardly use them, So we shouldn't expect any guests.." She grabbed her phaser with one hand and leaned against the wall. With her other hand she entered the pass code causing the door to swoosh open. "Ok lets move.." she said. "We have a limited amount of emergency power left. Last thing we want to do is get stuck in here..In the dark.."

He was about to close the communicator and trying hailing the ship when Nyota’s voice broke through the static. It felt…reassuring to him that she had responded to him. He could not, and would not respond without composing himself.

Though, he guessed after a moment or two of silence on his end, worried Uhura to no end. He did not want to trouble her, therefore he sucked it up for the time being, “..I am well…My condition is..fine. I have acquired the data.” He replied promptly, then added after hearing her speak to Bones.

“There is no need Nyota…I am fine. I want you and the others to beam off this cargo ship. I have found it to be unsafe.” Spock informed her, then he asked hesitantly, “…what is..the situation on your end?”
