Samantha started to open her mouth to respond, but suddenly, a familiar thought pushed it's way into her mind.
Why am I here? What's the use of this? I don't belong...i don't...She heaved a sigh, looked up sadly at the kind girl, and shrugged. She lowered her head and walked passed her into the hallway.
The hall was dark, cold. She brushed her hand delicately along the wall as she walked, feeling the cool texture, closing her eyes as she walked. She had resolved to go home and get herself to bed, call it an early night. She had no place around others, she didn't need to trouble anyone with her presence. She would go back to her quiet. meaningless, lonely life and continue to waste it. Throwing it all away on her foolish insecurity.
Then she felt it. A cold, sharp sting in her back. She heard herself gasp as she pressed her hand to her chest. The tip of a blade jutted out, warm blood spreading into her cloths. She pulled her hand away and looked at the blood covering it.
What... tears welled up in her eyes as she dropped to her knees.
I never...hurt anyone, she thought to herself,
wasn't that enough?darkness inched in on her vision, she grew dizzy.
She had lived quietly, never really offering anything for life, but never asking anything from it either...
but now she would never have the chance.
Now, she had died.
