Ren's chakra was still low. He wouldn't be able to regenerate a lot of chakra until he could get proper rest. It usually took a day's rest to replenish all of his lost chakra. Maybe Bao had thought of this factor already.
Ren didn't reply.

Umen watched Kansou disappear from sight. He waited at least ten seconds to be sure she was completely gone.
"Sir, I have to address you about something of Kansou's anatomy."Bao motioned for Ren to come out of the enclosure of trees.
"Wait here."
He said to both Refuto and Ren.
Bao walked several feet away from them as Umen followed. Umen spoke in a low voice so only Bao could hear.
"Kansou's temperature alters at random from a normal human's body temperature. It's abnormal even for an average Shinobi. I've been taking note of it for awhile now.
That's all, sir.""Hmm-- alright."
You don't seem to trust me, do you Kansou. Hehehe.
Bao and Umen made their way back to Refuto and Ren.

Umen and Refuto left into the darkness of the trees again.He walked up to Ren and placed his hands inside his pockets. Bao tilted his head sideways.
"As I was saying before we were interrupted..." Bao's head stopped being tilted sideways as he straightened out.
"Did you know Tier helped Kaimen with the take over? He even partook in the destruction of those Dojo's that were still people's homes.
Didn't you ever question your leaders' pasts at some point?"

Ren had come out of the enclosure of trees when Bao did and he waited there until Bao came back.
When he heard what Bao said he didn't exactly doubt it. Tier seemed like the violent type in the first place.
"Why are you even telling me all this? I don't understand. Even if they did all those things and I knew about it, I can't do anything about it. I'm suppose to complete my education and go back home. That's my duty."

Bao stopped talking to look at Ren's facial expression if he showed any.
"For instance, you might come across a fallen enemy kunoichi who's in need of medical attention inside a building. Your leader will condemn you from acting on her injuries even though she was acting to defend her children. It's a building. There could be traps set; they can't afford to risk their only medical ninja on the team.
That enemy kunoichi's children who she defended will grow up and learn to hate your nation for what you did. You let their mother die because of your own self interests at the time that didn't require your priority's attention. Then they stage an attack on your village, and as a result, creates a never ending cycle of hate and bloodshed. Bloodshed you have to prevent because of your duty as a medical ninja. Now you're directly involved.
Do you see the possible complications that can be created because of a temporary goal?
Your short-term duty can change into a life-long one if you turn a blind eye to the root of a problem."

Ren showed he was angry with Bao's assumptions by his facial features.

Ren reached out with a hand in the air as if it would help stop him from walking away.
"W-Wait! How would I contact you if I did want to?"

Bao's mask showed an expression of glee at Ren's interest.
He continued to walk away from Ren without turning around. Bao pulled out a tiny scroll that could fit in the palm of his hand from his pocket. He tossed it backwards at Ren.
"You'll have to be secluded and alone. I'll know otherwise if you'll try to pull a trick.
Burn that scroll if you have anymore questions and wait up to 20 minutes.
The scroll wouldn't open by any physical means. The only time the scroll would be opened was when it caught fire.
"Also, I would wait another hour before leaving this forest."
Bao disappeared into the darkness of the trees. If Ren were to use his Byakugan he would see that Bao's chakra signature was gone. Umen and Refuto were also gone.

Ren caught the small scroll and stared at it. He didn't notice that Bao was gone until ten seconds had passed. Ren was too busy looking at the scroll and trying to unravel it.

He pocketed the small scroll.
After more than half the day went by, Ren felt he was ready to start heading back to GNA. 1/4th of his chakra was restored by resting. It would be a long journey considering he had no idea what direction to head in.

The communication to the frontal base was purposefully cut off.Mantis smiled beneath his gas mask and wrapped his trench coat tightly around himself before exiting the frontal base and going on his search for Nekojiri.
