Ephraim stared at her for a while and smiled when she mentioned that she was taking good care of Berry. But as soon as that was mentioned, the look of being alone returned to the little girl's face. He moved and sat himself to her right. Even with a short happy moment, her mind probably immediatly went back to wondering when her mother would be back. His left hand came to rest on her head. "You miss her don't you?" whispering quietly that was barely heard unless you were near them.

She may be good at hiding her worry to others but even if he's been with her a short time, Ephraim could tell something was wrong..after all...isn't that what Big brothers do?

(( I'll be honest here, Amara's post added on to this one almost made me cry D: and I unno why ;_; ))

"You miss her, don't you?"

Those words, whispered ever so softly, were like a trigger for Amara's tears. She nodded slowly, wrapping her arms tightly around Ephraim, trying desperately to keep those tears hidden away from the world. She needed to be strong, to keep a cheerful smile on her face, to not worry anyone else of her discomfort...

No matter how hard she tried, though, the tears just would not stop flowing. The little girl began to sob. "Mm... Mm-hm..." She whispered softly through hiccups, burying her face in his side. "I... I don't want to lose mommy... I... ... Mommy..."

(( ... I made myself cry. ;-; ))

(( ................. *shot* YOU MADE ME CRY TOO!!!! I CAVED!!! ;_; ))

Better out then in, is what Seth had always told him when he was little. If you keep something bottled up for too long, it will only hurt more..and so far those words haven't failed. Alihi needs to know how much her daughter doesn't want to lose her. She may be brave to want to protect Amara, but at the same time..the tactician needed to realize her own daughter's feeling. Ephraim sighed, stroking the back of the girl's hair before pulling his cloak over her shoulders. "Your mother won't abandon you.." reassuring her, but it probably wouldn't calm her nerves. Ephraim wasn't even sure if Alihi would come back..he could only hope and wish she did.

(( ... D'aww, Amara's now double cloaked. <3

Alihi's an idiot in this case.

Amara nodded slightly, her grip around Ephraim tightening as his cloak covered and protected her. She couldn't hide her feelings anymore. The girl wasn't afraid that Alihi would abandon her for the sake of battle; she was afraid that she would leave for a battle and never return. She sniffled softly, trembling slightly. "E-Ephie..." The girl whimpered, her tears beginning to flow less and less. Squiggly crawled away, in the direction of a tree, but she didn't notice or care. She just kept her grip around Ephraim, seeking the only comfort that she had at the moment.

Man, was Alihi in for a huge guilt-trip when she got back.

"Ay lass dont worry about your mother. Shes a great tactician. She'll make it back." John assured as he put his hand on Amara's hair and messing it up a little. "Besides, thinking of good things will make the good things will happen." he said as he pulled his hand back and finished off the picture of a tree that was half done.

Ephraim's head shot up to John. His eyes shifted from the guy to Amara then back to John. Silence filled the air and Ephraim turned his head down to the little girl that was now snuggled against him while clutching the edge of both his and her mother's cloak.

"Hurry back..." Ephraim prayed, looking up toward where the sky would be if the trees weren't blocking the view. His gaze averted back down to Amara whom seemed to be dozing in and out of sleep. Poor girl, the only thing keeping her awake is the hope of her mother returning. His arm never left the girl's shoulder, assuring her that he wasn't going anywhere..least..until her mother returned.

Sue had noticed that the kill that was half-way roasted was now... far overdone and the fire had long burnt out. No one had put more wood to keep it going, and although the meat was overdone, it wouldn't be hot at all... warm at best.

But warm and cooked to kill the germs was most important.

The nomad walked over, carefully taking out the Javelin that was used to skewer it and hold it above the Y shaped sticks that held it above the small flame.

With her Killing Edge, she begun to chop it up, and would announce that food was finally ready for the group when she had finished. "Well, I have to do something..." she muttered to no one.

Maybe food will help Ganon and Amara too. One can't grieve and eat at the same time.

Lance carefully opened his eyes. He scanned the area around him. He didn't see much, except the inner parts of a tent. The fabric enclosed him, and he was lying on some bedding, his head resting against a puffed up pile of cloth, maybe a pillow. His neck hurt, however, so he couldn't bother looking at what he was lying on. His body was covered in a blanket. Outside a fire was burning, making the air around Lance warm enough. Lance rose his arm to wipe the sweat off his forehead, but met with a dripping wet cloth instead. His arms and hands had bandages around them at certain places, his stomach was enveloped in bandage as well. All very almost completely white, meaning they had been changed not long ago. He was only wearing a pair of trousers and his boots, leaving his chest bare. He could feel his legs being stiff though, so he assumed his legs had been bandaged as well.

Lance turned his head to the side, eyeing his hand. It was bandaged up, leaving only his fingertips bare. He was bruised all over his body, not only where he had been bandaged. He closed his eyes and sighed. This has been pretty embarassing.

The day that had gone by passed through his head. How he travelled with the morphs, how he jumped down a hill, when he jetted himself to a stop with his Impact, knocking himself senseless by too much power, and beating a hero singehandedly with dubious tactics. He looked back to his hand, and clenched his fist.

Doesn't matter if I beat her singlehandedly...sooner or later, I can't just be using plans to beat someone in combat...it just doesn't cut it anymore.

He gritted his teeth at his powerlessness. He needed to be more useful to everyone instead of just being a cook, entertainer, friend...anything else that wasn't related to combat. He needed to be able to hold himself against others without relying on dirty tricks. Eventually, people would be able to figure him out, and when that happened, he wasn't gonna be able to get away with a few scratches and bruises. He remembered Blossom's crying face. Despite there was nothing going on between them, it had still made Lance's stomach turned at the worry he caused her.

Lance knew what he had to do. Though his body was sore, he was still certain what actions he had to take. He just had to wait until it got darker and he could slip out unnoticed...

Plus, his body still ached. He'd need to recuperate a few hours at least.

Somewhere near the area where the FEFers were rested, Isadora continued to gallop Tuomas with Pitch following close by. She wasn't sure where she was. After battling for so long, it was hard for her to concentrate where she was. All she knew was that she was getting tired. All her strength and energy were about to run out.

I have to stay focus. Isadora thought. She needed to stay awake and alert to see where she was going. Was she near Eyris? It was hard to tell. Her eyes were going back and forth, focus and unfocused.

She knew that Rhys and Soren's body were still onto the horses or else she would have heard a crash behind. Onward she went. Forward she would led these horses. But where in St. Elimine's name was she going?

"I must..... stay... alert." Isadora muttered to herself. However, the sandman had finally caught his victim. Isadora fell asleep as the horses continued to gallop. Hopefully, someone should hear the pounding of the hooves.

Sue noticed the galloping of hooves, after all, since they weren't being steered, the nomad could hear very clumsy hoof steps.

She stopped slicing up the rest of the meat with her killing edge for now, and ordered Andre beside her... in order to stop them from going anywhere else.

After that 'roadblock' worked, she grabbed the reigns of Soren's rouncey and Tuomas, halting them. She noticed Isadora, Rhys, and Soren...

"They're returning!" she announced to everyone.

Placing a hand on Isadora's shoulder first, the nomad trooper shook her comrade. "Lady Isadora! Please wake up!"

Sister Victoria

Victoria had come, trailing behind the horses that were going far too long without steering until the Nomad Trooper caught up with them.

It had taken her a long hard fight to get here... but she was back.

The bishop took a breather, sitting down 'by herself' so to speak against a rock. She'd start healing everyone in a moment.

Following behind the group was Alihi, a look of relief on her face. The battle was over for now. She could relax, if only for a bit.

But before she could rest, she needed to see a certain someone. She looked around for a moment, looking for the person. ... Where is she--

WHUMP!

The tactician landed flat on her back, tackled down by a rather upset four-year-old.

"M-mommy..." Amara buried her face in Alihi's shirt, clinging to her tightly. Tears rolled down the red-head's cheeks. "Mommy..."

A rather huge pang of guilt hit Alihi and she wrapped her arms securely around her daughter. Tears... no. Alihi bit her lip slightly, gently patting the back of Amara's head. "... It's alright... Mommy's here, Amara... everything's okay..."

She really hoped that the little girl didn't notice her voice crack...

(( Pfft I'm too hyper to make this too emotional yet. <<;;; ))

Ephraim watched Amara suddenly run up to Alihi and tackled her. How she managed to slip out and away from him was beyond his imagination...then again....the four year old was hella fast. Deciding to leave them alone, Ephraim leaned back against the tree that was behind him and let out a heavy sigh.

Everyone was here, everyone was safe. That took a little worry off his shoulders knowing that everyone was, in fact alright.

(( Duuur short post ))
PostPosted: Sun Jun 28, 2009 5:38 pm

After a while, Amara's tears finally slowed to a stop. The little girl didn't let go, though. She didn't want to let go. "Mommy..."

Alihi forced her own tears back. Ultimately, she was the cause of Amara's sorrow. Because she was stupid enough to leave her daughter for some battle, Amara was left alone to cry with another person comforting her.

When Amara needed Alihi the most, she was not there.

Alihi's stomach twisted and turned uncomfortably at this fact. She shakily stroked her daughter's red locks in a comforting, gentle manner. "I... I'm so sorry, Amara..." A single tear escaped, rolling down Alihi's cheek as she pulled Amara closer to herself, shifting the green cloak that was still on the little girl's shoulders to cover her completely. "Please... Please, forgive your foolish mother..."

The tactician got no forgiveness, but a soft, breathy snore from Amara instead.

(( ... ;-; Poor them. ))

Amelia's breathing came slow and even as she approached the camp. Renault had not put her down once on their trip, something Amelia was faintly aware of as she napped, protected by the cloak that partially obscured her from the outside world. He let her be small and fragile, she let herself be protected. It was nice, for a change.

She stirred from sleep, though, as she heard voices. A soft sound of snoring and murmuring people. That hadn't been there earlier. Are we back in Eyris already? I would think there'd be louder people... chattering and such... Amelia's eyes flickered as she took in the scene before her, lit by the morning sun. Instead of finding the bustling crowds and buildings of Eyris, she found the hastily-constructed campsite of her fellow guild members. Alihi was holding onto her daughter, the others were scattered about. She noticed Sue helping Isadora, who seemed to be deep in slumber, and Rhys. Soren's rouncey was nearby.

"Why... what's going on here? Shouldn't you all be in the city? If Kyros and his friends took hold of the manor, we should at least be able to stay in the castle..." Amelia put a hand against her father's arm and left his arms. She stood near him for a moment, departing to approach Sue. She tried to slide the Bishop off of the horse's back, leaning his sleeping body against her own. "What did I miss...?"
