A selection of large rocks sat infront of Kuma, as he counted them in his head he gripped the hilt of his zanpakto tightly. "Ok, ok, ok" he murmered to himself as he pushed forward through the air, pulling his zanpakto only slightly out of the hilt, enough to thrust the hilt into a rock splitting it straight down the middle, he then returned it and slid the zanpakto behind his back latching it onto his belt and he threw his fist into another rock. Jumping left he slammed his forearm into a third rock as he twisted his body to smash his elbow into it from behind. altering his weight and footing he shifted to the left and hopped slightly, landing in a roll to the side he finished with an upwards kick to the fourth and final rock, dragging it out from the ground and up into the air. Bending his knees deep Kuma leapt up high and forced his hand clean through the rock sending the broken pieces crashing down to the ground in a rain of glory.
As his feet touched the ground Kuma set off after one of the previous rocks, drawing his fist back and letting out a yell he pummeled it into the ground and span through the air landing by the last solid, yet damaged rock. Jumping into the air and rotating his body 360 degrees he crushed the rock with a devastating axe kick. All was now silent as piece of rock lay amongst the dust as Kuma recovered his breath.
"Hmm, it's rediculous training against such things, I need to fight a moving target, something with its own thoughts, preferably more skilled so I can learn" Kuma sat down pulling his hat across his face and moved into a laying position. "How am I ever gonna learn my shikai like this, how am I ever going to get noticed" Taking a deep breath Kuma let out a sigh, swigged a drink from his bottle and laid quietly as the sound of the world passed by.

In the vicinity of the training grounds, Kaisho wandered around noticing the presence of yet another new member of the squad. He decided to investigate the new arrival, as he did when Sadon and the others. Seeing the Shinigami train was nostalgic, and in some ways, reminded him of himself. After his fateful encounter with Kusari Korosu and recent promotion, Kaisho Fuyuki took time to reminisce on how far he had come in Squad Seven.
It was a long journey for him, with a lot of arduous roads and paths to travel. He remembered his first days in the Seventh Squad, and how difficult it was for him to be noticed. He arrived on the day of the Squad's joint training session, and because only the seated members were allowed to participate, Kaisho and another unseated member were resigned to standing and watching. At first, Kaisho could remember their movements being extremely difficult to track, Svetlana, Bob and Aizakku being the ones that took his interest the most. For weeks, Kaisho would often find other places to train or wallow in the squad's bar, trying to think of ways to get the attention of his Captain.
However, a short time had past and he had a chance to prove himself. Seating competitions would take place and a comrade of his, Aizakku, the Sixth Seat at the time, was his foe. By the time he and Aizakku fought for the chance of new or higher ranks, Kaisho began to realise that his skill had improved, and eventually overcame Aizakku in rank by becoming the Fifth Seat. In time, only Bob remained from the seated officers from before his time, and gradually the other unseated members faded out of existence within the squad. Months went by when the numbers declined, but as with the other squads, a wave of members were soon to follow.
Sure enough, Kaisho saw the new members, and with those new members came an all new challenge. He welcomed them all; Foust, Rei Himura, Sadon and Kusari Korosu to name the few that caught his eye. These were not as poor as he once was, he remembered that well, and some of them became practitioners in a fighting style within weeks of joining. Kaisho, on the other hand, began sparring and training with other members from difference squads. Something about getting as much field experience taught him what he needed to know in terms of how to cope with both unarmed and armed foes without the use of his Zanpakuto, something he silently vowed he would master.
He became friendly towards the other members of his own squad after becoming good friends with Genji Kazemaru, a Fifth Squad member with a lot of proficiency and experience with all aspects of being a Shinigami, though his most amazing skills were in that of Kido. He also became very good friends with Kusari Korosu after spending much time with him prior to and during another seating contest, where he ascended once again to Bob's rank of Third Seat. Kusari and Sadon attained the seats behind him, Fourth and Fifth respectively, although with their skill they would have been higher if not for Kaisho. Bob had been relegated to Eighth Seat from Third, despite attaining Shikai. Showing just how well Kaisho had done with the challenges he foresaw.
It was clear that now, Bullene Katsurou had finally begun to acknowledge his abilities, something Kaisho had longed for since becoming part of Seventh Squad. However, as Third Seat, he knew he had to prove himself worthy of his new title, despite feeling guilt for taking a place from someone he always respected as better than himself. A while had passed, and with a new threat looming he, along with Kusari and Sadon, investigated Karakura Town. Another challenge for Kaisho to overcome came in the way of armoured knights of unknown origin, and it was then that Kaisho remembered that he was fighting for more than just the respect of his superior, but that of everyone in the Squad.
In a one on one fight with one of the knights, he was impaled, beaten and slashed to pieces. However, upon realising that he still had yet to meet his zanpakuto spirit, and had much more to accomplish as a Shinigami, he mustered energy that laid dormant and used it to end the fight before a deathblow could land upon him. Once he had felt the power he seemed to subconscioiusly hold back, it dawned on him that with every time he faced a challenge, his determination to overcome the odds when there was no other option but to face them shone through. After his wounds had healed, and finally found a reason to embrace his rank, Kaisho was now ready to ascend once again, and before long had achieved something that he had longed for; a meeting with his Zanpakuto spirit, Kangetsu, and a new level of power.
Kaisho suddenly snapped back into a state of reality as his eyes caught on the tail end of the new recruit's axe kick upon a rock, which he smashed into chunks. Kaisho smiled as he took in the words the Shinigami had spoken, waiting for a while before making his presence known. As the Shinigami laid in the lush grass, Kaisho slowly walked over to him, letting out a sigh as he cupped his hand over his eyes to look at the sky. "It is a pleasant day for relaxing, wouldn't you say?" Kaisho laughed, making his introduction as informal as he could. The way in which the recruit spoke reminded Kaisho of himself again, of how when he first started he found it difficult to be noticed.

Kuma rested his hand upon his hat and raised it slightly, noticing his fellow seventh member he smiled before getting to his feet. "Nice to meet you sir, I'm fairly new to the squad and I must say it's a pleasure to meet an experienced member like yourself vice captain Kaisho" He bowed his head before stepping forward. "It is indeed a lovely day, I feel a little guilty training instead of relaxing more" He laughed slightly to himself as the sun beamed down, blocked only by his hat. Kuma took a drink quickly before returning it and moving again closer to the shinigami. "My name is Kuma Hageshii, currenty unseated" Offering his hand with another smile lighting his face Kuma felt quite happy that he was finally getting to know some of his team mates.

Kaisho was quietly surprised that a new unseated member knew of him so soon after joining Sereitei. Back when he was a Fifth Seat, he recalled none of the new members knowing of his name or his seat. Kaisho laughed softly at Kuma's remark about training, "I do admire your ability to train despite the urge, though." Kaisho admitted honestly, while Kuma drank from his bottle. Kaisho would have been sitting in the shade relaxing with a bottle of cream liqueur by now instead of training, if not for Kuma being here to pique his interest.
Kuma then addressed himself as he oustretched a hand, which Kaisho happily caught hold of and shook firmly. "It seems you know of me already, but I am Kaisho Fuyuki, Vice Captain of Seventh Squad." He said with confidence. The sound of him announcing himself as the Vice Captain made him feel somewhat strange, but he did not seem as shy to announce himself as he was back as the Fifth or Third Seat.

Kuma smiled to him as he commented "What brings you to the training ground? I thought I was being stupid to be training on such a day" Laughing slightly he released his hand from the shake and brings it down to his bottle. "Would you like a drink? I'm a whiskey man mind you and it isn't to most peoples taste, but I do have some water here somewhere" He began to pat himself down trying to find his spare bottle of water.

Kaisho shook his head at the offer for a drink, pulling out his own bottle from underneath the lavish looking, white silk sash. The sash was a new addition, something he bought for himself as a personal treat after getting Vice Captaincy. "Cream Liqueur for me, whiskey-based, the best kind. Although, I don't look the age of a drinking man, do I?" Kaisho said with a wink, before swigging a mouthful. He looked around the training grounds for a moment, savouring the creamy texture as the sharp taste of the whisky took over. With that he gulped delightfully, the mixture of tastes lingered on his tongue, dancing on his taste buds until they eventually disappeared.
"Well you see, Hageshii-san..." Kaisho began, "Ever since I came to the squad, I never once trained in this area, and had only come here once. I was unseated back then, much like yourself, and it was there that I first had my doubts about coming to the squad. I guess you could say... that after growing up a lot in the vaguely short time here, both in my strength and my mannerisms, that I wanted to come here to reflect."

Taking another drink the same time as his vice captain Kuma spotted him looking around, as if in deep thought, maybe a form of rememberance, at this time the training ground was just as it was named - a place to train - yet he felt some kind of epiphany coming from the vice captain. Listening to his story he realised that he wasn't alone in this feeling of being a 'nobody' and actually had someone near enough feel the exact same, yet work up to vice captain.
"So you came to remember? It's kinda a relief that someone as yourself felt the same as I do" He said with a slight look of guilt on his face "I'm just kinda stumped as to what I should do, I don't want to bother Taichou with such trivial matters or questions" At times he simply felt as though he was thrown in and told to get on with it, but more than likely it was just due to the fact he didn't want to bother others. Either way Kuma knew he would get there someday; even if he had to work completely alone for it.
He took some time to acknoledge Kaisho's new addition of clothing, it almost glisened in the sun, the workmanship was imaculate and really showed how the maker cared for the item. "That sash you have really looks nice, I bet it cost you a pretty penny" He laughed as he took another swig, he liked his drinks rough, no ice or anything to bring the taste down, but after many years of whiskey drinking he became almost addicted to the actual taste of whiskey instead of the textures, the warm feeling it gives was just so welcoming to him that no other drink could give.

As Foust walked into the traing grounds, he stretched his arms out, while letting out a great yawn. He thought,"Yeap, same old training grounds, but no people to talk to." Turning his head, noticed two other people. RFoust sensed that one of them was strong like a vice captain. Only one person came to mind, and that was the new Squad Seven vice captain Kaisho. The other guy had to of been a newbie.
Foust started to jog over to the two. To him his jog was slowish, but really it wasn't. To some it would be kind of like running, but he was just unaware of it. While arriving up to the two, his foot hit a little rock making him fall forward. When falling he ended up leaning too much, so instead of just falling he ended up rolling a few feet. Foust sat up with his hand on his head, and all he could think of was,"What did I trip over this time, sheesh." he blinked a few times while looking upward. The two people were right in front of him.
Foust was right, it was the vice captain and a newbie. He got on his feet, brushed himself off, and said," Well that wasn't embarrassing at all. What's up Vice Captain Kaisho? You too newbie of Squad Seven?" Foust bowed to the vice captain, then turned to Kuma and bowed to him too. In Foust's mind he was hoping that they both would not think of him in a bad way, after his example of his clumsiness. Then again, it happens a lot for him. You would think he would be used to i by now, but nope.

Kaisho merely nodded at the question about his sash, stating at a man in the district he used to live in made it for him. Then, instead of taking another drop of his cream liqueur, Kaisho simply placed it behind his sash again. He had listened intently to Kuma's query, as he noticed that practically all new members of Sereitei wondered this at some point. After Kuma had finished talking, Kaisho let loose a faint cough to clear his throat. "He is approachable, although trivial questions from a new member would not be met with the best attitude. Until you have a place among the seated members, it might be best to speak to me with such queries." Kaisho said, thinking of his own first impressions of Bullene, which were mostly correct. "Speaking of which..."
Kaisho drew Kangetsu from his scabbard, staring at the wakizashi admirably. "Hageshii-san, my advice to you would be to wait until you are physically and mentally ready, before asking the question regarding your zanpakuto." Kaisho said flashing his gleeful gaze from Kangetsu to Kuma, his eyes changed back to their usually calm stare. "By that time, you are probably well versed in your own fighting styles, are more knowledgeable and proficient in the arts of Kido, Hoho and Zanjutsu... and will have trained enough that your reiatsu is fivefold of what it used to be. Only then can you be ready to ask..."
With that, Kaisho flicked Kangetsu from a reversed grip to the more traditional method of gripping, twirling his left wrist in such a way that the wakizashi twirled vertically around the centrepoint. "Of course, there are exceptions." Kaisho finished, sheathing his wakizashi once more. Just then, Foust appeared before them in his unwaveringly clutsy manner. Kaisho mused at Foust's mishap, but gave him an encouraging smile. "Ah, Ninth Seat Foust, this is Kuma Hageshii. I would rather you referred to your fellow members more formally though, respect and manners do go a long way, after all." Kaisho said with a soft tone. He was actually scolding Foust in a way, acknowledging the fact that he had not referred to a member of the squad in the correct etiquette. Whether or not Foust knew Kaisho enough to recognise this was a different matter altogether.

Foust felt a little down, since he was basically the first person the new vice captain got onto. He may or may not have tried to make it seem that way, but to Foust he felt as if he was in trouble. He knew he would have to make sure it doesn't happen again. Foust respected everyone in his own wayand manner, but since no one really knows him that well, it would be hard to tell.
With another bow to the vice captain, Foust said,"Yes sir, I will do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again." After his bow, he turned to Kuma and bowed again. With the bow he apologized,"My apologies Kuma Hageshi. I will have to remember your name, but like Vice Captain Kaisho here said, I am Ninth seat Foust. Um, I can't really tell you my last name, sorry." Foust stood back up straight, and rubbed the back of his head with a sad face. He started to think of how he doesn't know his own last name. It is a mystery that he could not figure out. So many things in the world were already hard to figure out, but now Foust had to live with not knowing his own last name. To some people it wouldn't be a problem, but to Foust it was like not knowing himself.
He finally snapped back into reality, and realized he met one of the new squad members. Foust could just feel in his gut that this guy was an ok guy. Laughing a little, Foust looked at Kaisho saying," Why is it everytime I meet up with you, I end up on my but from some clumsy fall or something? Not really the best way I would want to approach a freind, but I guess it is just not my luck." At this point both men had Foust's interest. Foust knew Kaisho was strong, but exactly how strong. One day Foust would have to test that, but he was also curious about Kuma. The newbies always interested Foust, for he never knew what to expect from them. To Foust that made it all the better. Foust then made a open question to both of them,"Would either of you care for a sparring match?" Foust started to think if either were actually in the mood for some fun sparring.

Kuma shyed away slightly feelings silly for mentioning such inexperienced thing, however the answer he recieved from Kaisho pleased him as it gave reassurance that he would just need to be patient, at that point Kuma remembered himself, he wasn't the type to be rushing into things but instead let them happen in their own time, he was a very laid back type of person after all. Holding onto his zanpakto he glanced down and thought of how it didn't matter when he trained, it was already 'his' blade, part of his own body even, he was simply excited to have an even stronger bond with his zanpakto, and couldn't wait for his shikai. He bowed to Kaisho and thanked him for his advice, it had really made him feel at home here in seventh squad. "You will be a great captain one day" He said with a smirk across his face.
Noticing the arrival of another member he scanned across him as he approached, trying to access the person and simply hoping they would be friendly as Kaisho was. The comical fall of the man was enough to give Kuma a smile from ear to ear as he saw the man get to his feet. Listening to his introduction he noticed the reference he gave him, however he simply brushed it off as for all he knew this was Foust's personality. Kuma sat back as Kaisho corrected Foust, afterall it was not his place to get involved. As Foust bowed Kuma smiled to him "No need to worry, would you like a drink? I have plenty of whiskey on me" He laughed slightly.
"I may not have my own shikai, but I would be glad to spar." Kuma smiled as he adjusted his hat to lower it further over his eyes.

Foust thought of the idea of drinking the whiskey , but he had never really drank alcohol before. He shook his head no,"Thanks for the offer, but I am going to keep alcohol out of my stomach. My gut just tells me I shouldn't be drinking it." Foust always followed his gut, no matter the situation. Some people would try to follow their heart, but for Foust it is the same concept just with his gut instead.
Foust thought Kuma would be a good sparring partner, but still thought he shouldn't underestimate him. Then again, Foust himself shouldn't be underestimated either. Foust turned to Kaisho, and with much respect said,"Sir, do you want to spar Kuma before I do? You were here first, so it is only fair that I let you fight him first if that was your intentions." With either answer, Foust felt he would fight someone today, so being patient wouldn't hurt. He just didn't want to start fighting Kuma if Kaisho was planning on sparring against him. Thinking of this made Foust realize how much he has changed. He used to be impatient, and try to be the first to fight. In a way, he has really matured since he joined Squad Seven.

Kaisho blushed at Kuma's reference to him being a wonderful Captain one day, as it was only recently that Kaisho had become the Vice. However, he did take this as a compliment, and thanked him. When Foust proposed a sparring match, Kaisho's mind began to ponder this proposition. Normally Kaisho would have dismissed the offer of sparring with anyone from the squad, but something made him think otherwise this time. It was true that Kaisho knew that Foust had learned Taekwondo, and he had always felt that this would give them an edge in battle against someone with a lack of a style and the inexperience to deal with close combat situations.
"No Foust-san, I'll be your sparring partner." Kaisho said with a gleeful grin, untying his wakizashi from behind his waist and resting it up against the pile of crumbled rocks that Kuma had devastated earlier. Kaisho stepped away from the two Shinigami into an area of space with enough even ground to fight on, and without taking up a proper stance, he slanted the left side of his body back. The only adjustment he made after that was a simple slide of his left foot to widen the stance.
"Before we begin, Foust-san..." Kaisho started, "Could you tell me all of the skills and techniques you have learned since becoming a Shinigami?"

As Kaisho got into his fighting stance, Foust could not help but show a blank face. The vice captain actually wanted to fight him. This made Foust feel a little special, but also made him excited. After all, it's not everyday you get to fight a vice captain. Shaking the blank face off, he said," Sure, this will be fun." Foust turned to Kuma to say," Sorry buddy, but I should fight the vice captain first since he basically just ordered me to. I will fight you after him if you want."
He turned his attention to Kaisho, to quickly analyze his stance. Then, Foust walked over to the same rock that Kaisho put his sword. Removing his sword from his side, he set it down about four feet away from Kaisho's. With excitement running through him, he ran back in front of the vice captain to get ready for a fun sparring match. They were just about five feet away.
Foust got ready, and started to get into his own fighting stance. He put his chest facing forward, tightened his fists, and put them at belt level about a few inches away from his stomach. Foust's feet one shoulder width apart, lined up parallel to the Kaisho. Toes on both feet pointed forward toward the him. His knees were straight, but not locked, and his back straightened. Shoulders were back, his head up, and eyes looking straight ahead to Kaisho's eyes.
He was so anxious to start the fight, that his hands and feet were shaking a little. Foust was ready to test his skills, and maybe impress Kaisho. Still, Foust was sure this fight would be eventful. He smiled, and shouted,"Let's get it on Vice Captain." Foust decided to let the vice captain make the first move. Not to make an advantage out of it, but just out of respect.

Kuma acknoledged Kaisho's offer of fighting instead and moved himself towards the sideline in which the swords had been left. "Don't worry I should really get some more training in anyway" He smiled to the two as he watched them shift into position, this would be quite an eventful moment in Kuma's life, his first insight into the great power the vice captains had, obviously both would be holding back to prevent any real damage but still he could barely hold his excitement. Raising his hat slightly he took a seat on the largest piece of rock that remained taking a quick sip of his whiskey and returning it within his clothes.
Kuma loved martial arts in every way and viewed hand to hand combat as a beautiful and honourable thing yet he had only his own knowledge to work with and imagination as to create a style, however he one day planned to learn the style of Eskrima as it fighted him perfectly. He noticed a strong and balanced stance from Foust yet Kaisho did not display much of any stance inparticular, Kuma thought to himself that this meant he either wasn't fighting with a particular style or he was reserving them for later in the battle.
Sitting on the edge of the rock Kuma watched patiently waiting for the action to begin.
