The monster's eyes were smiling. It was a twisted feeling. It seemed as if it had emotion. This monster was happy. Happy that it was about to accomplish it's goal and destroy this light monster.

It began to grow larger. Larger than the light monster. It's hands grew, and as their hands were clasped together, it began to crush the light monster. The light monster's hands shattered into tiny bits of light that flew everywhere, but the darkness monster was not finished. It gleefully began to rip the arms from the body of the light monster. The arms too, shattered into bits of light.

Gleefully, the monster trust it's claws into the belly of the light monster, continuing to rip and shred it from the inside out. A great mouth opened, lunging down to devour the head of it's foe. It ripped out what seemed to be the creature's heart, finishing it. The light monster burst entirely into light bits, covering the ground and then disappearing. Gleefully, the darkness monster came to it's feet. It turned back toward the mansion, it's great feet causing huge prints in the ground below it. It clawed away what was left of the barrier and turned to look at the heroes, a grin forming on it's face. Finished.

The bird laguz was renowned for his laziness, but that didn't make him weak or stupid. Castello's brain ran a mile a minute, analyzing the situation and snapping off decisions rapidly, one after the other. He rammed his shoulder against Evelyn, knocking her so that she fell onto Triumph's back, sitting sidesaddle. Then, without hesitation, he grabbed the Gwyllgi's tail and pulled on it, hard enough to elicit a chorus of yelps and send the monster tearing into the woods, carrying Evelyn away from the danger as the others got well back. Shento was already gone with... somebody, and Castello had little doubt that Kyros, at least, could get the others somewhere safe.

That left the prisoners. Damnit, they were lying on the ground.

"Get up!" the bird yelled, reaching down to grab Rhys and Amelia each by the collar, and surprisingly quickly he started dragging them back to the cover of the trees, just before a scything beam of light incinerated the earth where they had been just seconds before.

He crouched in the safety of the trees, watching as the monsters clashed and spreading his wings to stay between the prisoners and the battle. What a strange feeling, taking orders so... seriously. Was he always this serious?

He rather hoped it wouldn't become a habit.

When the lights stopped exploding behind his eyes, he looked up to stare at the monster's grin, and slowly reached up to hold the crest on his necklace. Red light emanated from it, forming a glow that radiated between his fingers. "Not good..."

As epic of an afterparty this could have been with the flurry of lights that was raging, it was most definitely not a celebration. FD simply stood next to Nils and watched in anxious anticipation as the light and darkness reacted to each other violently. They were far enough so as to not be in danger of the energy but remained alert for fear of something else happening - which of course happened when rather than have orbs of energy wailing agains each other, whatever powers were at work procured giant monsters to duke it out. FD could only hope the light one would come out on top, only to see it beheaded and shattered. He saw no point in transforming; that darkness monster was easily larger than he was even transformed, and its willingness to tear heads off was most definitely not good. All the same, he remained prepared to if necessary to protect Nils.

Fefga failed.

As the light creature was torn into tiny shreds, Fefga cried out. But this time, it wasn't to call on power.. she was in pain. She fell to the ground, and turned and laid on her back, looking up.

Outside, the remains of the light creature turned into particles of light and sparkled in the sun as they faded away. The barrier fell and crashed, but dissipated before the pieces hit the ground. All light inside the manor was now gone.

Deep within, Fefga's body began to become transparent. "Forgive me.. gods and goddesses... I brought her as far as I could. She's captain now.... but..." She paused a moment and shut her eyes. "It turns out that I was useless after all..." A tear leaked from her eye, and fell off of her cheek, vanishing almost instantly, as it dropped. Her body then slowly turned into particles of light and whisked out of the manor.

"Live on... Nino."

She was gone.

Victoria came beside the two dragons... not knowing what their true transformation could be. One of them, Nils looked like a mere child to her in human form. How dangerous! And FD... a little bit older, but not much?

"It looks dangerous. I know a lot of people here have unusual talents... but this is no place for youngsters." Victoria warned them, while pulling out her forged Divine tome that had injured her not too long ago during her desperate escape.

It's probably a good idea to get up, Amelia found herself thinking, sitting up just slightly to continue watching the two creatures duke it out with each other. It wasn't until Castello's hand appeared at her collar and dragged her to her feet that she found herself capable of getting her feet on the ground, and she barked out a short yell in surprise and indignation. As she watched the light blast out and burn into the ground where she had been moments before, she found herself being shocked once more.

Okay, April Fool's is over. Everything, go back to normal, now.

One of Amelia's hands found Rhys', and she gripped it tightly, a sort of reassurance that he was there and not some skid mark in the now-scorched dirt. The other rested very lightly against one of the feathers of Castello's wings; he was barring their way out, but he was still protecting them, right?

Amelia looked over to Rhys, then to the monster. The light had stopped blinding the area, but now... where was the light one? The one from the manor? The only one left was Mika's creation, now wearing such a sadistic grin that Amelia had to suppress a shiver. "What, is it coming after us now?" Amelia demanded. The anger in her voice was completely marred by the breathless fear, and her fingers twitched. She had dropped her spear back before Castello pulled her into the trees, and it was no better than dust now. s**t.

But what the hell could a lance do against that thing, anyway?

"Can't she just tell it to stand now or make it disappear? She brought it here!" Amelia said, voice gaining some strength. There wasn't any point to whispering and staying hidden now; it could see them quite clearly, it had just smiled right at them.

Oh dear..... Isadora thought as she widened her eyes, seeing the two monsters about to fall. Not wanting to be crushed by the giants creatures, Isadora pulled the rein and urged her horse to race.

Where was she going? She didn't know. How far would she be safe from the powerful blows of the creatures? Far, but not too far from the manor. Would she be able to help her fallen comrades? This she did not know either.

With the battle of ancient magic and the terrible fight between the monsters, she was unable to check on Rhys and Amelia to be sure if they were safe. Wherever they were, she prayed that they were in no harm way.

Thinking that she was far enough of harm way, Isadora stopped her horse. She turned her head to see what had the battle become. Things looked grim to her as she watched the dark creature destroying the light creature. Light particles flew out in every directions before vaporized into the air.

Wondering whether the creature was on their side or not, Isadora gripped hard on her reins and prayed. Her knuckled began to turn white. However, she feel something heavy went down in her abdomen as she watched the creature destroyed the barrier surrounded FEFGA's manor.

No...... It cannot be.... She thought. Her fear and anxious grew more as the creature let out a grin. It was impossible. It couldn't be. They were about to lose. The fight from their side was losing.

Unable to let her hope died in vain, she could feel the anger rushing in her veins. Not willing to let the creature do any damage anymore, Isadora once again raced toward the house. It was unsure whether it was her courage and determination that made her raced into the fierce battle..... or was her recklessness and anger that may lead her to her doom.

Queen Melethia Dagon
Melethia opened her eyes a bit. She was a little surprised when she saw Shento stroking the side of her face. "Weren't you the one who shot me with an arrow just a moment ago?" she asked

Shento simply looked at her, deeply, as if she meant something special to him. His normal face changed, as he grinned slightly at her. "...Dratebo quel nolshesta ot rodeh..."

He spoke to her, as if he expected her to understand what he was saying. He clearly thought this woman was somebody special to him. "Shadjah vo... Katalis." He leaned in closer.

A gasp.

There had been a sudden fall in spiritual influence.

As the barrier fell and the light behemoth dissipated, Neros jolted awake, his existence less disrupted now. He swayed as he sat up, the images unfocused and unclear. The attic was normally dark, but with his nightvision he could spot the silhouettes without difficulty, and being able to see these objects only allowed room for further disorientation.

Something was wrong, something had happened to wake him up and stabilize him...

Sorrow...

Profound, encompassing sorrow...

The walls around him seemed to lose their will. Colors seemed to drain, leaving the place even more monochromatic than before. The mansion was suddenly empty.

Very, very empty.

"Spirit...?"

Weakly, Soren stood and blinked through the darkness.

"Fefga?"

Fefga's gone.

What do we do?

...What do I do?

He rotated his head here and there before locating the severed head. Upon finding it, he realized he had lost his appetite, and irritably he punted the head across the attic. Neros was in no mood for growls or grins now.

He would have to wait.

A blonde woman clothed in holy attire had approached FD and Nils, apparently with the intention of warning them to leave the area due to the obvious dangers present. Was she new here or something? "With all due respect, ma'am, we're arguably the oldest people you've ever met. Don't let our looks deceive you: Kaoru and I have both participated in wars you can only hear stories of. We're dragons." FD returned his attention to things at hand. He was unsure as to what he should do in this situation...

"Hold on." Melethia said, "First off I don't know what you said. Second, my name is Melethia not Katalis. Third, what the hell are you doing!?"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 09, 2009 1:05 pm

"Ah, Dragonkin." Victoria nodded. She'd heard of Bern using them amongst their ranks, but never saw one in person. The bishop had no idea what to think of them. "Well, I'm a bishop here. My name is Victoria... I must say I've never met one of your race personally, but... well, my staff works on all, so if you need healing, I will lend my power. Now, let's get closer to this darkness and hopefully vanquish it."

Shento looked at her, somewhat confused for a moment. Apparently she had learned to speak the language when she arrived, he figured. He had been asleep a long time, so surely she had been able to master the language, while he was asleep. But that didn't matter now. She was here.. with him. It had been a very long time since they had been together in Impersus, where they worked together to save the world. He was just happy to see his love again.

"You...are speak well... Katalis. I to be... happy."

To say that Nils wasn't terrified would have been a completely absurd lie. His hand was clenched tightly around the flute he was carrying, to the point where his knuckles actually appeared to be white. His heart pounded loudly and rapidly, to the point where he mentally questioned if his companion could hear it as well. His eyes were slightly widened and locked on the monster in front of his eyes, which had completely destroyed the barrier to the manor. If it could tear apart a protective barrier like that, then who knows what it could do against someone like him? "What in the world is that thing...?" He muttered to himself softly.

He nearly screamed in shock when Victoria had approached, not even noticing her presence until she actually spoke. "Ah! I'm not young, thank you..." The dragon bard protested weakly, trying to keep the slight tremble of his body from affecting his voice. Thankfully for him, FD explained to the bishop who they were. A small smile came to his face and he willed himself to breathe normally. Calm down...

Nils nodded slightly. "Victoria, my name is Nils. And although I'm, ah... not able to fight at the moment, I hope my music could be helpful to you."
Of course, the rings are still with Ninian... I never did ask for one of them. He thought sadly, his expression not faltering. All my music can do at the moment is restore the fighting spirit... but would that even be enough?
