"I'm working on it," Dil replied through pursed lips, eyes finally finishing their rather lecherous tour of Sati's new figure and coming to rest on her face. His lips twisted up into a smirk. "I can give you way more than a hug if that's what you want, baby." the Fa'e offered - hugs weren't really his thing. In fact Dil couldn't remember giving anyone besides Nyoka a hug, and his guess was that it was a really awkward, crummy hug.
Not one to show weakness or hesitation, however, Dil threw his arms around Sati and dipped her slightly, a la tango. "Does this work?"

Sati raised an eyebrow at that suggestion. 'I imagine you would, if that's what I wanted.' she just laughed a little, although the thought of anything sexual with Aadil just reminded her that he had once dated her best friend; who she had slept with, a little gem that she wasnt about to tell him. When he took her and dipped her, she was startled briefly but then held a leg aloft and tilted her head back a moment, before looking back up at him. 'That will do fine.' she said, then asked, 'Gonna let me back up then?'

"Yeah," Aadil replied, using his new angle to his own peeping advantage. "Just gimmie - y'know. Like a minute here, or something." It wasn't long until he had raised Sati back on to her feet however and the younger Fa'e grinned, stuffing his hands deep into his pockets. "All right, so. Besides turning black, what else has been going on? You still with that stupid ******** fleabag?"
Never one for tact, apparently.

'Should I just get you a camera and you can go to town?' Sati flicked his arm closest to her lightly, before doing some rearranging of her necklace and skirt. She sat down again, tucking a leg up, her foot underneath her bottom. 'No.' she said, forcing her tone to stay light, but a tightening of her jaw betrayed her feelings. 'I'm not with Silver anymore.' she looked at Aadil. 'I could ask the same of your relationship, but I already know the answer.'

Aadil shrugged. "Nyoka's a slut," he said with forced flippancy. Moving to sit next to Sati, he crossed his legs to sit Indian-style and gripped his ankles; while his face betrayed no emotion, his knuckles were clearly white. Nevermind the bruising one ankle had sustained, he could hardly feel it at the moment. "I bet Rune isn't the ******** first anyway. She played me 'cause she's a whore and that's what whores do."
And that was that. Aadil slapped a messy grin on his face and turned to Sati, shrugging his shoulders. "Glad to see you wised up to that a*****e though. You're like a billion times way too ******** hot for him."

Sati could hear under the bluster, hear that he was hurt. It didnt surprise her that Aadil had feelings, everyone had something that affected them. She laid a hand on his knee, choosing her words carefully. 'She's not either of those things. She just got lonely, and I know that doesnt excuse her actions, but we do dumb things sometimes.' She removed her hand again as his attitude changed and tugged on her hair, distracted with her thoughts. 'Thanks, I guess. It wasnt hard to finally come to the decision to break up after he attacked me.' and she forced a smile.

Aadil's colorless eyes traveled down to the hand resting gently on his knee, and for perhaps the first time in his life Dil's cheeks colored just slightly; something about the gesture was surprisingly soothing. It was the sort of comfort Aadil had never allowed himself to receive before. Clearing his throat, Aadil averted his gaze and tightened his hands round his ankle. "Yeah, well," he grunted, at a loss for words. He prefered to think of Nyoka in negative terms - it made the situation much simpler, and easier to swallow. The alternatives were just a bit much for him.
Desperate to change the subject, Aadil raised his eyebrows at Sati and dragged his eyes back to her. "He attacked you? That ********. Seriously, I will take him out if you want me to. I will cut a b***h." Please. Please let him. Aadil liked nothing better than to imagine Silver as a furry, red streak on the floor.

Sati smiled softly at Aadil. She really did like him, but she wondered if he knew how much she appreciated his friendship, if he would back off, or even be brutally dismissive of her. Maybe it was best to be guarded, although she disliked doing that with her friends. She actually laughed a little when Aadil made his offer, but she shook her head. 'I can handle him,' although that wasnt completely truthful as she still didnt know if she had the strength to fight him properly. It was those emotions that Kali couldnt keep her from feeling, and the soul fragment residing in her knew that was Sati's big weakness. 'I havent seen him since. I dont know that anyone has. He walked away from me after I gave him back the ring.'

"Callix?" Lethe echoed hollowly, merely staring as her friend grabbed Seung and ran. "Where are you going? Wait, don't leave me behind--!" As revolting as the thought of blindly barrelling into the darkness was to her, that's exactly what she did, merely guessing at the direction the other Fa'e had headed in.

In the darkness you hear someone close by pausing and gasping for breath -- and then breaking into a run, their footsteps veering to the right. The sound eventually fades away, halting completely with the sound of a door being slammed. You hear absolutely nothing else, nor can you see anything of any immediate threat.

"********!" Arrien wasn't all that adverse to swearing in front of the kids when there were thigns trying to eat her hand, it seemed. Withdrawing as quickly as she could from the snapping teeth of what was supposedly the only exit from the HQ, the Jack-of-all-Trades fell flat on her rump and squirmed further back, eyes wide with panic as the door strained at its hinges to try and snap at her. Alas, it was all but welded shut; the woman was safe, for now.
Dustin watched this with disbelief. What, now her own GUARDIAN was scaredy-scared?! I mean, sure, the door was trying to eat her and everything (and she'd teach the door a lesson later for her Guardian's honor, make no mistake)... but this was just embarrassing! So much so, in fact, that Dusty was forced to cross her arms and scowl. How was it that her role models had a tendency to fail her in times like these? At least Lethe wasn't running away this time... or, uh....
"... HEY!" Seeing the ends of the girl's ribbons disappearing into the shadows, the deerkitten wheeled around to follow. Stupid Lethe, trying to run away when there was a door in need of being fought!

Amaris just watched, shellshocked and completely out of her element. One thing registered sound and clear in her mind, though, as yet another found themselves trapped in the newfound nightmare. "Aylana!" She cried, and although she glanced at the other necromancer in confusion, she quickly rushed to the winged fa'e's side, grasping her arm.
"Are you okay?" She rushed, then looked around defensively - it looked like everyone was starting to scatter. She cursed under her breath. "Nobody go into the basement! Everyone dies in the basement!"
Yeah, probably not helping.

Dustin, able to see into the dark better than the other Fa'e, can see that the walls -- even in the hallway -- still ooze the same foul liquid as in the common room. Something skitters with many legs along the ceiling in the low light, following Lethe's path. There are many pieces of debris lining the hallway, shapeless things of unknown origins.

Without hesitating, Lethe followed the footsteps. She stumbled and tripped over things unseen, having absolutely no sense of purpose or direction beyond what she assumed to be her friend's. "Callix, wait!"
She promptly slammed into the far wall, and immediately her hands flew up to her face, rubbing her nose where she had hit it. The wall, like all the others, was wet to the touch -- undoubtedly she didn't look her best anymore. Trying her hardest to pretend it was water, Lethe touched a finger to the wall and, fighting back shivers, traced it along until she felt the seams of a door. Grasping the doorknob, she twisted it and attempted to open it into the next room.
