The naiad liked swimming with Noel, but she had to wonder if Noel could handle swimming all the way to shore. They hadn't nearly swam so far when they practiced swimming together. Of course, Aysu was a naiad! She could support Noel if necessary... "If you think you can, you're welcome too, but don't swim it if you think you won't be able to," offered Aysu, confident that she could protect Noel if she couldn't do it, but not wanting Noel to do something she couldn't anyway.

"Where should we go?" Noel had flown to find her; maybe she had another destination in mind afterwards. Aysu was a little disoriented and wanted to go to the beach shores to find her siblings, but whatever Noel wanted to do was better. Noel had seemed far more worried than the naiad felt, and Aysu was always more concerned about her love than herself.

Azure yawned, exiting the headquarters to look around for Trager since she hadn't been in her room, even if he wasn't taking care of her anymore, he still cared about her. He hadn't noticed anything particularly different, but mostly because he was much too tired to notice anything. Azure's hair was all matted and messy, though it didn't necessarily look bad, he brushed his hands through it, but that only made it more messy. "Tray..." he mumbled sleepily, seeing a large group of people gathered out front of headquarters. He wiped his blurry eyes trying to see anything bright pink that stood out from the crowd. All of a sudden he felt a large thump on his head. "Owwwww..." he groaned as he wobbled around dizzily.

Trager chuckeled, she had thrown the acorn at Azure's head to get his attention since he hadn't heard her calling back to him over the small group of people that had gathered in front of the sign. She wandered over to him and picked her acorn back up off the floor. "Morning sleepyhead." she greeted him as she waited for him to regain his balance. "So apparently the island is now... an island..." she informed him "surrounded by more water..." Trager wasn't particularly thrilled since she had never liked water to begin with, but she was hoping it wouldn't effect her too much.

Kane had an odd thought while the other two were talking. He gathered his thoughts, waiting until they finished rambling before speaking up.

"Tree branches get old with time, eventually splintering under weight they once held with ease. The wood decays, breaks down...leaves rot away... If nature gets old and dies, then what about the isle itself? Not that it's dying...but if it was magic holding it up...can magic break down?"

It was an odd, unfamiliar look to be seen on the demon Pae'il's face, at least for any that knew him. There was no sign of aggression, anger, or even sarcastic comments lingering beneath the surface. Only pure curiousity.

---

Melek blinked up at Aspen, still shaking off the last signs of sleep. A yawn cut off his reply, but he stretched, trailing from the yawn into, "...'m okay, daddy." The child crawled across the bed to Aspen, ears perking up when he heard his mother's voice nearby.

Still eying the toppled chair, he voiced his earlier question to himself as he pointed. "Party?"

Takeko chuckled softly, shaking her head as she entered and took a seat on the bed next to Aspen and Melek. "No, no party, Melek. And if anyone had a party that toppled furniture like that around here, I'd have to have them a stern talking to."

She ruffled the child's hair, looking up at her mate. "It seems more than crazy...but we can't all be, so it must be real. You think your mother might know anything about this? She is one of the isle's elders." She paused, still thinking. "If we can't find Ivy though, maybe we could try the HQ. If Pae'il are going to gather anywhere in a crisis, it would be there."

Noel nodded and then slipped into the water. "I think I'll be ok, I have you." She smiled and giggled at the cool water. "Feels nice." She then wrapped her arms around Aysu and put her head on the naiads shoulder, "I feel much better." She was now much calmer than she was when she first woke up.

"The HQ? I hear that's the place to go for answers. Maybe Cinna will be there?" She hoped so, she needed to see her daughter as well. "We can swim there and see what else looks different."

Aspen chuckled at the idea of a party that could topple furniture and the idea of Takeko giving the culprit a stern talking too. "I can see that!"

"Mom, yes I bet she may know something. I don't know how much, but she talks to the plants and trees and they like the gossip." Aspen smiled as that was what his Mom always told him. "Let's go the HQ and see if she's there."

That actually made sense. Magnus grinned excitedly, liking having an answer that worked. "That would fit! Magic can be weakened by various forces, so I assume it can be worn out too. If we were being held up by magic, perhaps the magic began to wear out and we started falling."

One word in that phrase stuck out to Texas Pete. "Started falling? That implies this wasn't sudden."

"Well, maybe that's why it was so windy these past few days," Magnus felt like he was on a thinking roll, even if it was Kane who came up with the reason why they had fallen. Being a man who usually didn't bother with much rational thought besides, 'Hm, I think this feels good,' it actually felt quite nice to know what the hell was going on. Maybe he should come with Texas on these 'let's find out what the ******** is going on' adventures more often! "If the magic was wearing off, then we were falling gradually."

Texas was actually comfortable with this answer. The magic wore off, and they fell. "That makes the whole event sound a lot more natural, as if it was going to happen eventually anyway." It wasn't disturbing his world if the magic naturally just wore off and they began a gradual fall. Of course... "That still doesn't quite explain why we weren't tossed out to the sea that's surrounding us."

"It's certainly a start, though."

-----------

The naiad began to snuggle up to Noel when Noel said something that hit her as odd. She knit her brows and backed away to look at her seriously. "Wait, what looks different?" All Aysu had seen today was the deep of the lake, the surface of the lake, and now her lovely Noel. Nothing had visibly seemed to be different, though she had certainly felt strange waking up so far underwater.

"I mean, besides the fact that your cave was somehow destroyed..." Aysu frowned at that thought, but then moved back towards Noel before starting ahead, slowly as she could so Noel could keep up. At least the water was still nice and cool. "You flew here; I guess you saw more wrong than your cave... Like what? Let's go to the HQ while you tell me."

If her waking up at the bottom of the lake and problems on the mountains near her love weren't the only problems, Aysu wanted some answers as to what exactly happened while Aysu was in her odd sleep.

"Well, as I was flying I noticed a few changes. The Isle is different." Noel nodded as she swam alongside her love. She first tried to think back to all she saw so she could repeat it for Aysu.

"First, I saw a waterfall coming from the mountains and pouring into the lake. The falls were close to my old cave." There were no falls there before just a stream. "Cha'en Beach is huge now! It's grown a lot, so has the lake for that matter. There were more things, but I didn't have time to investigate, I just wanted to find you." Maybe they could look later.

Waikiki KiKi shrugged. "I don't really know. I guess it depends on if it really is cool and if my family move. Seeing that my Great Granddaddy doesn't leave the lake's beach I might not." She then began to head in the direction that the Naiad was pointing in. She felt bad that she was excited and he wasn't. She wanted him to be too, but then you can't make someone feel one way.

Jazz smiled and waved to all the new pae that were showing up. "Okay, so there is a note all. Does anyone want to go anywhere check anything out? I'm up for it." She wanted to help being an elder and everything.

Eclipse and Apollo watched and just scratched their heads.

Hula Bob watched as Jazz's relatives showed up and began to help. It seemed like it was working for now. They were getting all the water out of the bar which was the most important thing. Next would be maybe moving it...he wasn't sure.

Zuri Seabrook wished he could be excited, actually. He loved exploring things! The idea of going near salty water wasn't too appealing to him, though. It definitely was not the same as the fresh water he had grown so used to throughout his almost two year life span. "Well, maybe it'll be really cool."

He didn't necessarily want it to be really cool, but he wanted his friend to be happy too. Zuri turned to Waikiki Kiki and smiled brightly, before getting distracted by his itchy arm again. "My arm hurts," muttered Zuri, frustrated. "I got visited by this dolphin-thingy, and ever since then my skin gets really dry and flaky out here. Kinda' gross."

The naiad blushed upon realizing what he had told Kiki. She didn't need to know his skin was dry! That made him sound unattractive! ...What a vain creature he was. "Err, sorry. I think I see the beaches up ahead." Time to change the subject from his horrible skin condition; the weirdness outside was more of a concern than his dried out skin.

-----------

Aysu reeled, stopping swimming for a few moments to actually process what she had been told. Then, she resumed. "There's a waterfall? And the beach and lake have gotten bigger? Hm, the falls might've been what caused your old cave to collapse," offered the naiad, although she soon realized that Noel might not want to hear that at the moment. Thus, she got off the subject of her cave.

"Maybe there's some Elders at the Headquarters that know what's going on. The Elders tend to know a lot," offered Aysu. She had met a few elders when she was younger, though she didn't know they were elders at the time. "I'm glad you found me, my love." She kissed Noel lightly before turning back to the direction of the beach.

"Yeah, that is what probably happened." OH her poor cace. Where would she live now. "Would you like to live somewhere with me?" This probably wasn't the best time to ask, but she had to go somewhere and the idea of living alone scared her just a bit.

"Elders, yes, that's a very good idea." She smiled and swam next to her. Noel smiled and stopped swimming to kiss Aysu lightly. "Me too. I don't want to live without you."

((So, anyone who joins or goes to the HQ Jazz, Eclipse and Apollo are there. Hula Bob his family that I own and Jazz's family I own are at the bar and Coral and Memphis made it to the ocean if anyone wants to talk to them. biggrin ))

"Really a dolphin? I've never seen a real one before. What was it like?" Waikiki KiKi thought that it was really interesting and wanted to know more. "Do you think there will be some in the ocean?" She had heard of dolphins there but not in the lake. That's another reason she found it interesting.

Waikiki KiKi saw the beaches and headed towards them. She wouldn't make Zuri stay long. He must have needed his water to feel better. Still, she wanted to try out her power.

Swimming was fun. Or at least, it looked fun. Maybe later.

Perhaps the two females wouldn't have been so relaxed to know that they weren't exactly alone, but...as it was, Noel and Aysu seemed too interested in each other to notice anything amiss.

Still, once they started gaining some distance from the shore, things weren't nearly as interesting as they had been. Nothing here anyway.

A soft rustle from the foliage was the only signal that anything had ever been there.

PostPosted: Sun May 24, 2009 4:35 pm

It wasn't exactly the best time to ask, sure, but Aysu grinned anyway. Sure, she shouldn't have been grinning because Noel's cave was gone, but the prospect of living with Noel was a good one. "Of course!" exclaimed Aysu, brightly. "Until we figure out exactly where, you can stay with me and my siblings, as long as you don't mind."

Now to find some elders. "I don't want to live without you either. Let's hope the Elders have some good answers." She kissed Noel's head lightly before turning her attention to the shore she wanted to get closer to. It was the small silence that brought her attention to the distant rustle.

"Did you hear something?" asked the naiad, mildly confused. Maybe it was her imagination.

----------

"They're really cool. They're a nice silver color, with a fin like this," the naiad half-bent over and moved his hand over his back in the shape of a Boto's dorsal fin, "and they have really long 'beaks' like this," he straightened up and demonstrated this, too. "I didn't really get to feel the dolphin's skin, though, but I don't think it was all that solid. It was a spirit dolphin, after all."

Zuri Seabrook knit his brows. It really had been an odd experience; an odd experience that he still didn't really understand. "After the dolphin visited me, I never saw it again, but since then I've reacted kinda' badly to this air and can't smell much of anything."

It was then that his feet touched the beginnings of sand. He looked down and chuckled, before looking back up. "Well, I guess we're here." It actually did look very pretty. The waves crashing on the shore, the sea birds singing, and the interesting rocks in the water made for a picture perfect scene. Zuri still didn't want to go too much closer.

Noel's heart jumped at the answer! She smiled and things looked alot brighter then when she woke and found her cave destroyed. "I don't mind, I'm sure we'll find a great place. Somewhere cool and by or partly in water." Her mind raced at the possibilities.

Noel turned, "No...what did you hear?" Her mind was too focused on Aysu and a house together to notice the sound. Noel looked around and forgot to kick her legs, she dipped her head in the water and had to kick hard to get back up, "Oops." She blushed as she was slightly embarrassed.
PostPosted: Sun May 24, 2009 4:51 pm

Noel's sinking under the water made Aysu panic. She ducked under the water so she could lift Noel back up to the surface, but it looked like Noel was able to handle herself. Aysu let out a sigh of relief before swimming back up to the surface herself. "I don't know. It sounded like something was moving around. I don't know what it was, maybe it was just my imagination." The naiad glanced from left to right, checking to make sure there was nothing trying to gain up on them.

Aysu turned her attention back to Noel. "Maybe I'm just a little nervous," offered the blue naiad, with a small shrug. At the same time, Aysu wanted to turn around and check out what that had been, looking over her shoulder again to see if she saw anything. Nothing. How weird. The naiad was just on her toes now, that was it...

"I don't see anything... maybe I'm just thinking too much." Aysu determined, looking over her shoulder one last time.

"Nervous, sounds about the right way to be." She was back in the reality of the moment not floating out on the idea of a cozy house with the two of them together, it was time for worry. Who knew what was going on with the isle?

Noel kissed Aysu's hand, "It's ok. Maybe it was just the wind or something?" What else could be in the grass next to the shore? A pae? If so why did it run before they saw it? Maybe an animal? Noel just wasn't sure. "Let's get to the shore and get to the HQ." She was getting as nervous as Aysu now.
