1wolffan Long posts aren't a bad thing. As a matter of fact, most of the folks around here view that as a mark of a good literate RPer. I'm not much into ghosts, but your character seems quite well developed. And the fact that the girl had a "near-death" and can see him, lends to him being visible to some others. I personally think he'd have to overcome his phobia of people to be able to solve the mystery of his semi-death, and move on to the real afterlife (whatever that may be). Now for the questions that make you think... If the reason he's still there is an object, there should be other 'ghosts' too. Can he see them? Would he be afraid of them too. WHY is he REALLY afraid of living things, could that be linked to his half death? Will he eventually solve the mystery of his 'existence' or will he be doomed like that forever? You have a nice character, think on how he can interact with his environment over time. It'll make for some interesting thought-provoking brain usage. Hmm... Maybe the reason he's still around is because all of his life he has spent a great deal of time in this one particular library, and feels as if it is 'his' library. He also died there, so maybe some part of his essence, or soul if you believe in souls (I don't), is held within the books. Or recorded in the books somehow, so he is like a living story ('cept for the bit where he's not alive) There probably is other ghosts around, but the town where he lives is very small, and he doesn't go very far outside (just a couple blocks) so he's never come across any. As for the girl, I hadn't put much thought into her, I only invented her because there would be no point in a rp character who had no influence on the story. I'll have to think a bit more about her and why she can see him.

Idea!
If Miles' 'spirit' is recorded like a story, maybe its actually only recorded in one specific book, and instead of the cliched near death thing, anyone can see him if they read the book.

gianttacosalad So, once I've come up with a character for this class, what do I do next? It's been reviewed, there's nothing more we can do with it. Put it in an RP somewhere and see if it works out. Yeah. Like, was it created just as an effect of something, or did someone purposely write it? Why and who? Hmm. That could be cool.
thanks for all the input, made me think smile I doubt there's a rp out there that he would do well in, but you never know. I could always make my own ^^
Though I'm starting to think he might be a better novel character then roleplay character.

Name: Karticon
Race: Human
Age: Mid-20's
Sex: Male
Personality Traits: Main disorder is "Gemini Thought". No matter who "good" Karitcon wants to be, a darker half of him takes control of him, making him sub-consciously evil. He has potential to be save the world, or destroy everything (cliche, I know) To be further developed?
Physical Traits: White spikey hair, deep blue eyes. Face covered constantly with a mask of any kind, so his face has not been seen. Clothes seem to be nicer then most, but not rich and flamboyant. His clothes are black and white, in proportion to his disorder, changing color accordingly. Has muscular legs, in turn has high amount of speed and agility. His arms are much weaker then his lower half, so he resorts to using weaponry in stead of hand-to-hand. In the chance his weapon is broken or lost, he can create weapons with the elements around him ("earth", "fire", "wind", "water"). Has weapons with him at all times.
History: When he was 7, his parents were of high power, intil a pair of assassins executed them. Ever since, Karticon has trained to match the abilities of the Masters of Shadows ("ninjas"). Thought missing since death of his parents. None else known. Has no intentions of re-gaining his parents power, though he would like to kill the murderers...

Seems a bit too overpowered being able to use any element. He should choose one (or maybe a second) element to be able to make stuff out of. But I like the idea of clothes that shift with his personality. And the fact that he's constantly battling his dark side. It would make for some really interesting plot developments. What would happen if wanted to be dark-sided? Would a 'good' side then develop? Gemini, by definition means equal but opposite.
You don't seem like a n00b, but you do seem like a newb. There's a difference. Newb is simply a newbie. The other one is basically a jerk about everything.

I'd reccommend Water for one of them. Because it can be quite powerful (ice blades, drowning, HOT steam). And Earth, for when you're in a mountain or something.

So about Karticon. If you're going to stick to just two elements, why not make them opposites to stick with his theme? His good side uses one, his bad side uses the other. You can basically personify any of them as good or evil if you do it right. Example: Fire is evil for destruction and burning stuff, water is good because of the soothing life giving nature of water. Or contrariwise: Fire is good because of the heat can be linked to courage and passion to do good, water is evil because of the dark mysteries lurking in the depths. Some of them are harder to do. It also may be a good idea to stick with your typical opposites
Water/fire
Ice/fire
air/earth
water/earth
make the most sense to me, though you may see otherwise.
