Tomiko runs into the library and skids to a halt near Mina, nearly falling over. "you seen mustang around here?" she asked panting

Elysia opened the door to the library.
"I wouldn't call us 'dogs' of the military," she said. She hated that term with a passion. Hayate barked.
"He is a dog of the military," she said, pointing to Hayate, who scampered up to the librarian.

"Out there," Elysia said, pointing out the window of the library towards a large field off in the distance. "An alchemist exam isn't safe in the city. But the written part comes first."

Elysia raised an eyebrow and shrugged. The library was much cooler ( in temperature ) than the office, which made her remind herself to get her jacket next time they head back.
"Did you study?"

Elysia giggled and said, "Good." She stretched. "I remember when I had to do that. I didn't get any sleep for two weeks." She shrugged.

Elysia's face went bright red. She opened her mouth to say something.
"What do you think you are doing, maggot?" Colonel Mustang growled from behind K'van.
Elysia quickly yanked her hand away and kept her hands behind her back as she stared at her uncle.

"colonel mustang...may i call you roy?....i hope we can be the best of drinking buddies one day. but for now... i have a test." and without another word, kvan marched right into the testing area and sat down to wait for the exam paper

Roy just stared at his niece, looking clearly angry.
"Uncle Roy..." Elysia trailed off.
"Having fun with your little boyfriend, Elysia?"
"He isn't my boyfriend!"
"Then explain to me why he was holding your hand!"
"You always jump to conclusions!"
"Well, what was I supposed to think?"
"You could have assumed he was just being nice!"
"Sure!"
"Ugh!" She groaned. She removed a piece of chalk from her back pocket of her skirt.
"What are you doing, Elysia?" Roy asked.
"Giving you a piece of my mind!" she snarled. She knelt down and began to draw a transmutation circle. She clapped her hands together and placed them on the circle.
A huge fist made of the library's foundation flew up and nailed Roy in the chin, sending him outside the library.

Roy sat up from where he lay. Many of the civilians had fled by now, or some had stayed to watch the fight.
Elysia shifted her weight, crossing her arms over her chest. That gleam reminded Roy he was dealing with another alchemist. And this alchemist was his niece.
"Well, Mythical," he said, standing up. "Are you up for a fight before the exams?"
Elysia slipped on her gloves. They were very similar to Roy's, only hers were black and made for her hands. Transmutation circles were drawn on the backs, like Roy's.
Elysia had a similar style to Roy's of using her alchemy. She and her uncle lifted their right hands and snapped their fingers.
Two huge explosions lit up the sky. Both relatives came out unscathed.
