Ziggy looked up after taking a fresh bite and saw the bag of powder, and leaned close to peer at it, "The library is trafficking drugs? Nowai! Oh chica, you shouldn't have told me! You should have told the police! But now you know, and knowing is half of um, something" He finished chewing and looked around for the cell phone, "What's the number for 9-1-1?" He asked around chewing.

Looking at him with an expression of growing horror she snatched the baggie and held it close to her chest. " Its...its not from the library. Its mine......and....I thought you'd help me....."

Ziggy turned around and look horrified, "You do drugs?!" His eyes started to tear up and his lower lip began to tremble. "B-but why? It's not healthy!"

Lunaria's eyes were echoing her father's with tears of frustration. " THIS isn't drugs! At least....I don't think it is. It....it comes from me, or I find it on me, AH! I'm not explaining this right, I don't know WHAT it is! Thats what I wanted help with!!!" Her voice was rising to a panicked wail as she fumbled with bag opening and in her haste a small cloud of ice cold glitter poofed out.

Ziggy's eyes cleared up and as soon as he saw the puff he understand immediately. He leaned over and pulled Lunaria closer to her and hugged her, "I'm sorry Luna-pop. I thought it was something else." He pulled back and looked into her eyes, "This stuff is called star dust." He made sure to make the word stand out with a bold effect. Ziggy silently applauded himself for doing this difficult task.
He grabbed the baggy and looked at it more closely examining it's texture, color, and brightness. "Have you ever tried looking at it in the dark? It will always have a faint glow. It looks like you've inherited this from your dad... who is me." He added the last part, not necessarily for her benefit, but more for his as a reminder. "How long have you been making it?" He asked.

Her eyes grew wide hearing Ziggy call the pretty powder STAR DUST. "Urms....making it? I'm not sure that I make it. But the star part makes sense. I like to fall asleep looking at the stars, so I moved my bed to be by the window. And on nights that its clear and I can see the stars I fall asleep looking at them. And when I've been waking up this stuff is all around me..... I thought there was something wrong with me...."

Ziggy chuckled and smiled like the bro he was, "There is nothing wrong with you at all! All Illumens have an element that they can control to some degree. Mine is Stardust, I can make it out of anything," he looked up slightly confused, "Or almost anything. Anywho, like, cha, stars can make star dust as well. And it looks like you inherited some sort of affinity with it as well." He thought about it some more and shrugged, "It's easier if I show you!"
He walked over to the edge of the blanket and pulled a bit of sand onto the blanket. He then pushed his paws over it, and closed his eyes. the spots all over his body began to glow and a light emitted from below his paws. He opened his eyes and lifted them up and what remained was a pile of star dust where the sand had once been. "This stuff sells pretty nicely at market. Rico calls me her little money maker." He smiled at the nickname, it made him feel proud.
He pulled a little bit more of the sand onto the blanket, "Why don't you like, give it a try?"

"Oh wow! That is soo pretty! And you glow when you do it too!" She smiled at his happieness " Worth money huh.....maybe Em would be happy about that...."
She walked up to the edge of the blanket and sat as Ziggy had. " I'm willing to try it" She cupped her paws over the sand and felt the warmth of the sun seep into her paws from the sand as she started to feel warm all over. Excited she opened her eyes and quickly shifted her paws "Did I do it, Did I" Looking down she saw the same pile of sand and her face fell.

Ziggy patted her shoulder and hugged her close, "Don't worry about it. Your instinct will naturally guide you to discover your element. You have only begun learning about stardust and it's not an easy thing to understand. It's complex and full of magic, that's why it's a basic in almost all spells." He nudged her again towards the pile of sand, "Why don't you try again? Think of the stars while you do it. Something Rico taught me was, "Good, Better, BEST! Never stop to rest, until your good is better, and your better is at it's best!" Ziggy paused and raised a paw to his chin, "Though I don't really know what it means."

"Aww, thats a cute saying, I like it!" Nodding she mumbled it to herself under her breath to commit it to memory. Moving again to the pile of sand she set the sun out of her mind and thought of the stars. Her stars, how the sparkled and twinkled at night when the lights were out. She thought of the cold sweet light that dazzled her in her dreams as she put her paws over the sand again. She felt a tingling run through her and she held her breath. After another moment passed her eyes popped open and she peeked at the sand, that was still sand.
"I can't seem to do it!" Feeling the failure keenly she flopped down onto the blanket again dropping her head to her paws. " Its no good, I'm not as good as you Dad..." Closing her eyes and seeking comfort she thought again of her stars and how the motes swirling over her bed formed a mobile for her in the starlight. Again she felt the tingle and this time ignored it. On a whim she let out a deep sigh. As she did the spots on her coat began to glow very faintly with a soft colored light as they shifted and whirled on her coat. Lunaria's breath hit the pile of sand and it changed into a small mound of glittering star dust.

"Woah!" He ran a paw through his hair and took a closer look, "Luna-pop! You did it!" He smiled and started hopping up and down, "You did it! Try again! That was like, really cool!" He pulled up a small pile of sand and said, "Just do what you just did... I think."

She looked in awe at the small glittering mound." Oh cha!"She smiled at Ziggy's praise and enthusiasm as she shifted to lay by the next pile of sand. Closing her eyes she focused again on the motes swirling in the silvery starlight and felt the tingle. Suddenly she was aware of the sound of the waves, the surf rolling in against the beach. Rather than blocking the sound she thought of the beach at night, the waves looking crystaline in the light from the stars.
Her spots began to dance, the tingle got stronger and she took a deep breath. As she exhaled harder this time, her breath caught the sand and lifted it, swirling it out and cupping it back in. As the sand shifted it solidified into the perfect form of a small wave cresting, complete with spray and all, no bigger than Lunaria's paw. It looked like a spun glass figurine made out of stardust as it glowed softly even in the sunlight.

Ziggy looked in awe as his young daughter made the crystalline figure. He looked down at it and then looked at her, his mouth forming a big "O".
"Omigod! You just-Did you-Is that-HOLYCRAP!" He picked it up and looked at it, his eyes glazed over and the faint glow reflecting in his eyes. Then he said as if in a trance, "If I were 2 cm tall, I'd so be riding those swells." He looked back at Lunaria with a childish wonder.
"I wanna try!" He quickly pulled a pile of stardust from earlier and placed his paws over it, and then concentrated thinking of the waves. He removed his paws in a flash and looked down at his eagerly. His glee sank to utter sadness. His eyes began to water and his lower lip began to quiver.
While the dust had formed into the shape of the wave it was still no more then dust, and quickly crumpled. His chest sank and a tear rolled down his cheek.

Watching eagerly her heart fell at seeing Ziggy's statue crumple. " Aww Dad! I'm so sorry. But I can make them for you whenever you like! HEY! I have an idea! I bet we could do one together! But we could make it like...BIGGER!" Quickly she hopped off the blanket and dug a small pile of sand onto the blanket till it was about half her height, then settled herself down by Ziggy and looked up at him with trust shinning out of her eyes. " Can we try it please!?!?"

Ziggy sniffed, and wiped away his tear, "R-r-really?" His big watery eyes peered at her and a small smile formed on his face, "Okay!"
