((He really is not listening. At all. It's like... the grownups on peanuts. "Muah muah muah, muah." Joker already got a little rise out of him with the Barbara stuff, so he started tuning out completely to avoid loosing his ability to concentrate on the important things.))

Batman's eyes widened as the knife floated into the air. A magic user? Great. Just great. Unfortunately, he was surprised enough that he couldn't get a batarang up quickly enough to knock the thing out of the air, and he winced a little as it sunk into the girl's arm. Whoever she was, he needed to get her out of there; she clearly could not take care of herself, and Joker and Gossamer would be investigating any second. He quickly flipped down into the alleyway, landing silently behind the girl, and then reached out to cover her mouth. "Stay quiet," he murmured, then released her mouth, grabbed her firmly around the waist, and shot a bathook up onto the nearest building. A second later, the only sign that the girl had been there at all was the discarded dagger and a few drops of blood.

Batman quickly pulled the girl back out of the way, over a rooftop, and behind a chimney; he didn't want to be anywhere near that alleyway when the magic user showed up to inspect her handiwork. He paused, inspecting the arm wound. It was deep, and bleeding profusely. Reaching into one of the pockets on his belt, he pulled out a roll of bandaging and began wrapping the wound tightly enough to stop her from loosing more blood, his movements fast and precise. After a couple of seconds, he spoke in a low, stern voice that left no room for disagreement. "When I am finished bandaging your arm, you are going to wait until I'm gone, and then you are going to get as far away from here as you can. Do you understand?"

"Worry about that later," Batman said flatly, finishing up with her arm and stepping back. "You should wait couple of minutes, and then start moving in that direction..." He paused briefly, indicating said direction with his chin. "Keeping to the shadows. Go slowly, and try not to fall in any more garbage." Without waiting for a response, he turned and flipped up onto another rooftop, disappearing from sight.

(( ROFLMAO at Peanuts comment. And Sapphire got saved by Ninja Batman! ))

Joker didn't hear what happened over in the alley, except a sound that he had heard so many times before, he couldn't mistake it for anything else. It was him. Batman. While Gossamer was gone, he said out loud, to himself, "Magic, can go immaterial, AND look sexy while at it? Harley might be in trouble..." When she returned and relayed her information, the clown said in a sing-song tone, "I know how she got away!" Then, in his normal tone, he continued with, "She was saved, by a Bat. See my problems here? This is how he works every time! But that's also part of what makes it so fun! THIS is why I keep inviting him to my little outings! And he's never turned down an invitation. Always punctual..." He looked at the roof of one of the buildings that made up the alley. Pointing at it, he asked Gossamer, "Is there a way we can get up there? It'll even the hand up a bit, and since they're so keen to play with the Joker, they need to be reminded that they're being dealt from the bottom of the deck... Heh heh heh..."

"Wasn't like I was aiming to..." Sapphire mumbled as he moved out of sight. Seriously...that never happened to her. She was fine the entire way here.
She glanced out from around the chimney and stealthily moved away. She might not have her powers at the moment, but she still had all of her other tricks. Still, with Gossamer down there, she didn't have much to rely on. There was just her, that guy in purple, and that other guy in the suit.
She paused a moment as a thought struck her and turned towards where the street would be. No...no, it couldn't be. As far as she knew, she was the only one from her world here.



Blackstone stared up at the rooftops, searching and thinking. The man in red had mentioned Sapphire earlier...she mentioned a blue spider....
A small smile crept across his face as he shifted his watch to make sure it was tight on his arm. He then adjusted his sleeves and looked back towards the rooftops, slowly dissapearing.

Sapphire stopped in her tracks a moment and looked around. Whatever the sound was, it wasn't comming from the roof, though it was annoying. The lights on her wrists and anklets started to blink a bit. Great, was the noise effecting them somehow? Well, couldn't get to close to the source then...didn't want to break them.


Blackstone screamed and reappeared close to the base of a building. He cluched the side of his head and searched desperately around him for the source of the noise. He couldn't find it. No little device, nothing to insinerate, nothing. Black tendrills began to snake out from his suit and strike out at the air. His eyes became dark again and bared his teeth in pain and anger.
When he did find out who was behind all of this...he'd tear out every bone in their body.

Blackstone collapsed onto one knee and let out another cry, this one sounding more like an anamalistic roar. His head was spinning and pounding, and was slowly getting worse. He knew he wouldn't die from whatever this was....but it almost felt like he would. It was unbearable!
