Fred nodded. "For the most part. Though sometimes I sleep and hang out elsewhere. Where do you live?" Fred asked Sara curious if she was close enough to at least occassionally visit.
(some romances maybe)

"Well I tend to live in my own den nearby the river." She paused a bit wondering what he was getting at. "Although I must say, others seem to like it." Sara looked down. "Hey...I know this sounds awkward, but do you have any family?"

Fred smiled. "I have family, but not biological or mate wise. The creatures at the mansion are what I consider my family. But I will find a true family someday, I am sure." Fred stretched and smiled. "I like it out here. Nice atmosphere."

Sara lowered her head down to look at her paws. "Yes...I'm sure you will...I...um...feel the same way. Although sometimes the special fox could be right under your nose without you knowing it." She stopped for a moment realizing it wasn't the best conversation to have. "Well...at least that's what my mom said when she was still around."

Fred blushed and was a little nervous as to not understanding why he had. "What happened to your mother? She sounds like a smart fox." He hoped he was stearing the conversation onto safer topics but wasn't sure how his question would be taken or if it would cause her pain.

Sara put on a smile before slightly frowning. "Well...when a pack of wolves came along they tore her limb from limb. She died trying to save me." She shook her head. "I never regret the life she had with me nor do I mourn for her right now. All I do is try to make it in this life. That is what she would want of me to do." She paused before sighing. "Sometimes that is all you can do."

Fred felt his heart tear. "I am so sorry about your mother. She was brave and loving. I can tell that even though I never met her. Because if she wasn't, you wouldn't be here today. And I am sure you are right in her wanting you to live on and have the best life you can."

Sara wasn't really sad. "Thanks...I don't seem to think of it much nowadays. I've been alone for a while, but..." She cut herself off. If she said the next thing it would be extremely awkward. Nonetheless she knew she would have to say it. If he didn't like her then she could always look elsewhere or wait for the right one. "...that's why I've been wanting a mate. To share my life with. To have a family to go home to."

Fred smiled. "That's a good dream. And I can say, I have the same dream. Only one thing is different. I think I may have already found the mate whom I want to share my life with." Fred gave her another small and somewhat shy smile."

Fred smiled. "Well, I haven't asked her yet but anyway, she is loving, caring, gentle. She is strong and independent and can take care of herself. She doesn't mind helping others and has a good spirit. And I am looking right at her." Fred said and wondered when Sara would figure it out.

Sara looked pretty surprised. At first she didn't know what to say since she had been searching for a while. Before long she glomped Fred and started crying. "Really? You love me? I didn't think I would end up with someone. I've just been waiting and keeping strong hoping that someone could like me because of my inside beauty since I don't have much outside."

Fred laughed. "Well, I'm not much to look at either. And even though I have only known you a day, I do have strong feelings towards you that I have never had for another and you get me to get off my lazy butt. How can I not love you?" he said as he stared up at her from where he landed after her glomp.

Sara got off Fred in a hurry since she didn't want to suffocate him. "I'm sorry...it's just that..." She paused a moment before shaking her head. "Nevermind...I'm just too content right now for words." She laughed a bit.

Fred smiled at her. "It's okay, I do not mind. Just took my breath away for a second. It's good that you are happy. At least it is in my opinion. Don't you think?" he said as he started laughing with her.
