No matter how hungry he was, he wouldn't take so much as a grain of rice away from them if he could help it, but no reason for her to know that.

"It's akin to a spasm or a cramp, it's muscular. So walking stretches it out. Which way?" he asked keeping the hand that belonged to the pocket with the money in his, his other hand around her waist, aware of how much they look like a couple.
(Can I take it as assumed NPCs can be grabbed and used as needed?)

An NPC employee from the orphanage ran out to greet her. "We have a new kid, and you'd never believe what he brought!" He pulled out an envelope filled with money. "We can fix this place up!"
Chayne slipped free of her and slowly slid to the side, away from her.

Narina smiled, "That's wonderful! Does the staff have any idea what area's they're looking to remodel?" She turned to wave bye to Chayne, but didn't see him. "Bye..." She muttered before following the employee inside to help with the details.

At some point she would find the money he slipped in her pocket. At some point they'd see a news article about a serial rapist pedifile that had been killed. And the questions of "Was it the Dragon Slayer, or some one else?" As there were claw marks, but no fire. The new kid pointed to the picture of the dead man and told them all cheerfully that it was father. He didn't seem upset to see his father was dead.
Chayne slipped into the darkness between two nearby buildings, making sure he was alone, before he slumped to the ground. "Well that's that, Yamiru. A double good deed for this group. I should move on for a bit soon. Some one else is hunting my territory. Mmmm One or two more kills. That's it. Just one or two more kills....."
(Yeah. you aren't missing anything, there's no one there with him. )
