Ora masked Xeen's image from 44, though the bots could see him they were not aware 44 couldn't. Ora gave Xeen's hand a weak squeeze her strength nearly entirely wiped out. "Save Toli Ahremin, she's the daughter of a farmer. Go. Leave me here, you don't have the time to waste." She let go of his hand, a plea in her eyes. "Please, Father. Save her."

As the straps were broken Xeen was able to blink with Ora away from the ship, leaving the bots, and 44 behind.
(She's not going to be much help, I don't think she can even stand at the moment.)

They left for Vultis, leaving 44 completely unawares.

((Fair enough.))
They arrived right outside one of the survivor camps, people pressuring the crowds to line up in an orderly fashion for various treatment as well as access to the few undamaged escape ships. It was nearly certain that most of those ships would be shot down the moment they entered space, but for some, dying off-world was better than dying on-world.
Ora's face was partially nestled into Xeen's arm, her breathing light and her skin cold. "Look for a blond girl, young, like Haldis." She whispered, her scream-worn voice as faint as a ghost's.

Eulalia Danae As the process continued, Ora was sent to hell and back repeatedly, the med-bots warning that too much of the process would eventually drive the subject insane was for the most part overlooked. They didn't need sanity, they needed an answer. Ora eventually broke, as does everyone, but the answer didn't come in the form of a spoken name, nor did it particularly get focused towards 44. Outside in space, the stars appeared to move and align by way of a massive illusion, sending a message to everyone who would manage to look, from planet or ship, from close or far. "Save Toli Ahremin." ((I posted with Xeen and Ora in the Vultis thread.)) I am of the assumption that the Kore was not stupid, and some form of scanner, scout, bored deck officer, or some kind of recording device or person had seen Ora's message, and that news would have made it's way to Haldis.

The kore did indeed find access to the name, and a call was quickly set out. The command to glass the planet was pulled back, and instead troops were given the instruction to search down and annihilate Toli Ahremin, and for assurance, any blond children of a certain age range.

In a farm village where Toli and her family lived, a local pharmacist went racing for the Ahremin house. He burst through the front door breathless and grabbed her father. "Toli--they come--where!?"
It was highly unlikely that the man he'd grabbed by the shoulders knew he was a secret member of the ACO, or what cell he belonged to. On the other hand, the writer of this post doesn't know a d*mn thing about the girl or her family, so stands willing to be corrected.

He was a young father, Toli being the man's oldest, and only about six years of age at that. He looked at the pharmacist and nodded his heads. "We know of the attacks. Word has passed quickly. My wife and children are heading with some of the other families to take refuge in the caves, while the strong stay to fight." He gave the pharmacist a small smile, placing a firm hand on his shoulder, "Earth will come to save our planet."
Despite his confidence, the man had no idea the danger his daughter was in, or why the pharmacist would speak her name specifically. He was only aware of the attack on the planet, and the sudden betrayal of the Kore.

The young pharmacist shook the man and tried to speak more clearly. "I'm ACO--The Kore are here for Toli! Better than the caves--You've got to get her out of her! Get her off the planet, Ahremin!"
Then the rest of the man's words hit him, and he added intently, "Earth won't get here in time! No one expected an attack here!"
He didn't really know what Earth was up to, or whether it would come to the rescue, but he knew that the ACO had no defense here. If the ACO didn't, that means no one was expecting this. The travel time from Earth to Jishara was simple math. They were just too far away.

As if on a qeue, the sky darkened as it filled with Hunter ships, swooping down over the farmlands, covering Kore landing craft. THe spider-like androids were quick to land, engines guttering out as the four-legged monsters began to clear the area around the LZs, Kore troops pouring out within seconds of the ships touching down.

There was no feasible way for earth to get there in time, *cough* despite the fact that the contest end-date is supposed to be today *cough*.
The father's face was confused as the pharmacist spoke. "ACO? But Toli? Why would they want my Toli? Even if I wanted to get her off the planet I can't. I'm a farmer, I have no ship." His jaw set in stubborn determination as he grasped onto the only hope he really had."Earth will come. They will save us."

44 exited a ship, two of the Hunter monstrosities pacing themselves along side him. "I want this place a desert. Kill everything living that isn't Kore, and burn the bodies. I don't want anything missed." At that, the Hunter machines that had escorted the soldiers in galloped off, looking the part of some dark and terrible horse.

The pharmacist let go of the stubborn farmer in despair and looked skyward, resisting the tub to come inside. "Look, man..." He took a slow breath. "Do as you will. I don't care what you believe. But it's my job to rescue that girl, if no one else does it first. You said the caves, right?"
