"Well the night is young...and you still need to buy me a pretzel." She said witha definate nod, nudging him playfully. "And why dont you were your hat? It looks lovely with your shirt..." She smiled, joking. He didn't have to if he didn't want. She was just in such a good mood, and Damian made her so happy.

"Oh, you think so?" Damian fished the hat out, tore off the tag and in no time was wearing his spiffy fedora. "I look like a shady charmer. Which, really, shouldn't be all that different."
As they walked, Damian kept his eyes peeled for a pretzel stand, though knew that was probably down further along. "So... do you come here often, miss?" he asked, peeking into stores here and there.

Raquel pulled out her own scarf, tying it tastefully about her neck, letting it hang over her jacket. "Occasionally kind sir..." She retorted, closing her eyes as they walked, jstu taking in the moment and the bit of sun coming through the skylights above. "More frequently in my youth, but not so recently..." She smiled, opening one eye to look at him. "What about you monsieur?" She asked, hugging him slightly.

"I only frequent this area when with the one I love, miss," he said, suddenly walking straight-backed and slow, with a haughty tone to his voice. "Only she could drag me down here to experience the life I have never experienced... A rare and beautiful creature, you can be sure."
He gave her a wink before stopping his silly walk. To think that was how he always carried himself.

She smiled, cocking her head idly. "And a lucky one at that..." She said pondering witha sensuous little look on her face. "To be accompanied by someone such as yourself..." She smiled coyly thinking. "I hope she doesn't mind me stealing you away for the day..." She added, releasing his arm to saunter ahead a few paces, swinging her purse as she looked back at him, a playful look in her eye.

"Oh no, miss. She wouldn't mind... she has enough spirit to have come here herself to make you conveniently disappear while I'm not looking. A bit of the jealous type." Damian gave her another wink to show he was just kidding. Though something distracted him: the music shop they had visited their first day out was coming up. He remembered Raquel playing a song upon a new guitar, and that sad look she possessed all the while...

Raquel smiled and giggled slightly, taking her place back at his side. She wouldn't have noticed the upcoming music shop if it weren't for the sounds coming form it, catching her attention. They walked by and Raquel slowed to a stop, cocking her head as she looked inside. A pretty little girl was getting a guitar lesson. She was struggling through a simple little tune, one Raquel recalled learning and drilling over and over when she first learned. Though the small child seemed frustrated, she didn't stop, just kept working at it with a few encouraging nods and pointers from her instructor. Raquel would have stayed longer, but realized that this was indeed the music store they had passed so long ago. She said nothing really as she started walking again, smiling softly to herself as she watched her feet on the shiny white floor.

It surprised him that she didn't want to go inside at all. She just... walked on, after looking some, and nothing more.
"You're not interested?" he called, shuffling quickly to her side. "I thought you loved the music shop..." Concerned eyes examined her closely, trying to see if maybe she was concealing or repressing something. Damian felt like he was just being paranoid, though.

Raquel glanced up at him, shrugging idly, as her gaze wandered. "I..Guess not..." She shrugged slightly, looking down again. She hadn't noticed it but her passion for her music had slipped away from her. It was a little sad, but she just hadn't picked it up in some time.
"I was thinking about selling my old guitar..." She said, looking back up as she thought aloud.

"Why?" That shocked him so badly that the bag slipped from his hand. If Raquel had lost her music, the one thing that kept her going for so long, then what did she have to replace that gap?
"I thought you loved your guitar. I thought you wanted to play when you could..." Silver eyes reached out to her, just asking for some kind of answer for this sudden turn.

Raquel had kept moving though stopped when she heard the shock in his voice. She gave him a confused look, picking up the bag that had fallen to the floor. "I don't know..." She shrugged. "I guess I just dont think I need to?" Though that couldn't be it. Really she had her reasons that were her pawn and simple enough. "I wouldn't just pawn her..heck no, I couldn't get much for her anyways.." She shrugged. "I'd sell her to a friend who's a collector... I used to bring her into the cafe some nights to play for extra tips...He always loved her, and swore if I ever wanted to sell her to give him a call and he'd have a favor waiting for me in return..." She explained, taking his hand to get him to come along. "I want to call it in so..." She shrugged, scanning the crowd. "Ah! There's a pretzel stand." She smiled back to him as she headed that way.

"What favor? Raquel..." It sounded as if it was something he couldn't do for her. And if there was something he couldn't do for her, then what was it? It would drive him mad. "What if I bought it from you? So you'd never really have to part with it, and you'd still have what you needed..."
Damian stumbled after her towards the stand. She was too calm, too... sedate about it all.

She sighed, exasperated as they neared the pretzel stand. "I wouldn't have brought it up if I knew you'd be upset..." She said, throwing her arms to her sides annoyed. She furrowed her brow, looking around. "Alright...so...The friend who wants to buy, his uncle is on the board for this private art school... My friend's been trying to get me to apply, but I just..I just never had the money, nor the hope I could do good..." She explained with a shrug. "So along with this new good word put in by his uncle, I can use the money I told you I've saved up, and I can apply..." She said quietly, shrugging a little. She didn't look at him though, knowing he'd want to offer to pay her way for her.

At first, he wanted to fight her on it. He wanted to make her see that she didn't have to give up her guitar, her memories kept away in that thing. But the determined look in her eyes told him to back off, and that she wanted to do what she thought was best.
"Would you regret it?" was his only question as he met her fierce green eyes.

Raquel's eyes softened as she looked away a moment. She couldn't answer that because he knew the answer. "She's a beautiful instrument..." She said distantly, if not a little sadly. "But...sometimes you jsut gotta move on you know?" She seemed a little more than reluctant on giving her up, but it was the first step in getting back on her feet. To do something to provide for herself...despite the sacrifices.
