I don't know. O_o I just liked it. I mean, seriously. people have got to be used to it by now, the fact that they can't fit everything in. And I think they got the points across without having to add some things. Spoilerish- They'll probably explain the Gaunt thing in the next movies or have Harry get the ring somehow.
You just have to remember that the movies are NOT the books. Yes, there will be similar elements, but it's somewhat like an AU. They're going to do things differently from the book because there's not enough time to do it word for word. They're ALWAYS going to have to leave out something someone likes. So it's best to view the movie as a separate thing from the book. I basically watched it like I had never read the book (It's been so long since I've read it that it wasn't so hard)
I just liked it better than the others, is all. Maybe I liked OOTP better.... :3 Cuz of more Voldemort. Heh. And you've got to think also- Magic is a main part of a witch/wizards life. If they kept specifically showcasing magical all the time, it'd take away from the feeling that magic is a sort of normal - still extraordinary- thing, and might distract from the other elements of the movies.
I liked Fenrir though. x3 Good makeup!
Spoiler- One thing I don't know about is they didn't add the scene with Hepzibah Smith. O_o But They've probably figured out how to do the hufflepuff's cup thing in the next movies.
Anyways, I trust them to tie it all together in the end. 3nodding
I NOTICED LOTS OF SNAPE. BECAUSE I LOOK AT SNAPE EVERY TIME HE COMES ON SCREEN. AND THEN I SQUEE, NO MATTER WHAT HE'S DOING.

I absolutely ******** LOVED it. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed everything - the acting, the pacing, the special affects, the humor, etc. I can only think of one or two things I didn’t particularly like, and they’re small and based on personal taste anyway.
Highlight for spoilers, bitches!
The beginning sequences were, to me, absolutely perfect. Harry spending his time in that little eatery, flirting with that girl and reading the paper, really emphasized how stubborn and rebellious he is (about not staying where he’s protected) and that he’s a teenage boy. And I adored the concept of him riding around on the subway all day XD It made me remember how much I loved the first book chapters of OotP with Harry wandering the streets.
Effing LOVED the Slughorn scene. I was hesitant to like Slughorn due to his casting, but the actor really sold me on it - and the special affects involved with his chair-ness were surprisingly amusing. Dumbledore’s humor and his fixing up the house were both brilliant. Granted, Slughorn’s chatting about his collecting habits was borderline creepy (made even moreso by Harry’s later “Slughorn wants to collect me - do you want me to let him?” remark) but it was funny anyway. XD
And, OMG. The Lily fish story. SO ******** SWEET/SAD.
The Burrow was amazing. I loved the humor in that scene, and the house’s layout. I loved how it had a “secret base” feel too it, particularly with the fields surrounding it. And Arthur’s dusty collection shed - omg, so cute. The Burrow’s demolition later in the movie was made all the more devastating by Molly’s expression, too; excellent acting.
Ginny really, really stood out to me in this movie. Her outfits were adorable, the acting was spot-on, and her willingness to overstep Harry - first by snagging the book, then when she put her foot down about getting rid of it - was perfectly characterized. Her comforting Harry after Dumbledore’s death… guh. <3
Hermione’s involvement was fresh and sharp as well. My favorite scene just might have to be her discussion about Ron and Ginny in the corridor; I loved how Harry shifted and they snuggled as she sobbed.
Lavender… ehhhh. Hilarious, but I confess I really wanted to see more whore and less… “I sniff Ron’s boxers and my eyes roll into the back of my head” stalker. Still, she was very funny, and her voice and outfits were adorable. Her kiss with Ron in the tower, as the camera panned around, was hot and romantic, and made it all worth it. XD
AND OH MY ******** GOD CORMAC. He was attractive, arrogant, and stupid. MY KIND OF MAN. <3 I loved him catching that fly.
AND THROWING UP ON SNAPE’S SHOES. OMFG. EPIC. EPIC. EPIC.
And Draco, OH DEAR MERLIN DRACO. I want to give my soul to Tom Felton for such a powerful performance. I am incredibly thankful for the director and writers’ take on his efforts - I loved that he was alone rather than assisted by Crabbe and Goyle, and that he was shown as being an absolute mess all year. The birds were a very strong addition, and I loved that he wept after the first bird’s death - even though I am uncertain if it was for the bird, due to his own frustrations and fears, or both. Maybe both. And the bathroom scene… I was so tense, so devastated, so utterly drawn up in the movie… That scene shook me to the core and SCREAMED “this is why you love Harry Potter, this is why it’s a LIFESTYLE and not just a hobby, this is why you do this day after day without losing interest.” I cried so hard, it’s not even funny.
All the stuff between Draco and Snape really just… god, I can’t explain. It just really hit me how much I love those characters, this fandom. Especially their hallway discussion. Just… *flails*
Dumbledore was surprisingly likable in this one, and I don’t much like his actor. I cried when he and Draco were speaking on the tower. I hissed “no! oh my god, don’t DO that!” as Snape shushed Harry below, agonized by all of it… The Locket scene was tastefully done, I think; I loved the special affects, and Dumbledore’s suffering was not overdone or uncomfortable save for one or two seconds, just enough to poke you in the gut and remind you how dangerous it all was. I jumped so hard when Harry was grabbed, even though I was expecting it…
I need to stop now, but I will definitely continue gushing later. XD

OMFG! Yeah, I loved it when Harry sort of has his wand-partly raised- you can tel Harry's got his guard up, but at the same time he actually SHOWS HIS TRUST IN SNAPE.
And then when he told Harry he was the half-blood prince- he was so DEVASTATED. One, he'd given his trust to snape and so far as he was aware, it was broken. And then he learned the person who scribbled in the book was SNAPE. So like the fanfic I wrote -and really, Didn't harry make out that he sort of considered the person behidn the scribbles as a friend in the book?- harry's image of the HBP melded together with Snape and then shattered.
And then he was so angry and.... urghurghurghurgh. I mean, that, combined with the scene in OOTP where Snape's got his hadn around Harry's wrist and dragging him down into the basesment GIVES ME SNARRY FODDER.
FODDERRRRR. Even if the Snarry fodder would be one sided, or would never physically happen- I CAN IMAGINE CONFUSED INNER THOUGHTS AND THE LIKE.
BUT I AGREE WITH EVERYTHIGNG YOU SAIDDDD. Tom Felton needs like, a billion awards. <3 Oh Draco, poor Draco. 3

•Listening To: Rise Against~•Feeling: Hungry •Playing: Fallout 3 Miyazaki films always seem to brighten my day. :3 I really need to get more of them. I want to get: Kiki's Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke. There's also a new one of his coming out this year (August) called Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea. It's apparently about a little mermaid girl who wants to be human, and I can imagine how cute this is gunna be told by Miyazaki. x3
I only own Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away, but they are some of my favorite films of all time. First off, Howl is hot. The whole story, Howl's little temper tantrum where he turns to goo, the moving castle itself... all the characters have such personality. And the story itself is so bizarre, but somehow familiar at the same time.
Spirited Away I like even more. First off it has a hot dragon boy (Haku). It has blood, and anguish, angry spirits, gross dripping spirits... the animation is so awesome. When it rains it feels and sounds so real. The main character is so very human in this very inhumane place... I could go on about both these films for a long time. I love them so much! heart
Also... I wanna go see Harry Potter again realllly badly.

I want to see the movie again too. ABout three times is enough to let it all sink in there. x3
But I can wait until the movie comes out and buy it too. :O
O_o
Hmmmmmmm......... I wish you could rent anime. Maybe they have those two movies at the Movie Gallery............ humm...... yeah. I'll watch those some day.
They sound really good! ^_^ Nyar. :3
Princes Mononoke I've heard of but haven't watched either.
If I suddenly won the lottery, won like a lot of money, first thing I'd do is clear out Best Buy's anime section, or something. Wtf.
I'd buy it from some place, maybe ebay to get them cheaper, depending on how much I had.
And then I'd buy some for you too and send them to you in the mail. x3 YES.

I watched 17 Again recently, and I actually liked it a lot. Major props to Zac Efron and the writers (Jason Filardi and Keenan Donahue) who did an amazing job.
Efron's acting is shockingly deep. His control over facial expressions, tone of voice, and his ability to play off the acting of others... Christ, the dramatic scenes were sharp and painful with the agony in his eyes, yet the comedic moments were on-a-dime quick, lines delivered swifty for a lot of ZING! jokes.
The humor employed was very unique, and despite how nasty they could have taken things, they kept the writing quite clean. Curse words were used in moderation, but without the "dirty" feeling one often gets when a lead actor says "douche" or "********" - it felt real.
The casting was SPOT ON, too; even background characters were bright and memorable. Each actor brought a different level of real-ness to the film, which distracted you from the silly fiction the plot surrounded. The characters had layers and a often differed from what you expected.

I love them so much! heart I had such a girl hard-on for Haku when I first saw that movie, man. I had to rewatch the film eight or nine times to really understand its plot and meaning - moreso because it was the first of that kind of film that I had ever seen - but its twists and turns were fun to unravel anyway.
That movie is just... it takes your breath away in so many ways. Shock, sorrow, amusement, confusion, terror... Watching it with the lights off and being completely drawn into it is such a trip.

By the way, I saw Avatar on Sunday and it was COMPLETELY AWESOME. The graphics are so freaking amazing, it just will blow your mind. O_o
I watched it in an old converted theatre, so I sat 2 stories up right in the middle of the first row, with the screen right in front.
It was completely amazingggggggggg. Perfect spot. <3 I WANNA BE A BIG BLUE KITTY. biggrin

Watching HBP again was no less awesome than the first time, though I did not cry as hard when the Burrow was demolished.

So the Blockbuster I used to work at is going out of business and selling off all of its movies and merchandise at discount prices. I fully intend to take advantage of that the week after next week, and blow like $50 on movies because over the years, often in order to avoid starvation, Kat and I sold off all the movies we owned. So now like gluttons we're gonna buy a bunch lol xd

I'm watching the movie 'The Orphan' and it's. like... this lady is absolute s**t.
It seems incredibly apparent that she's like 'Oh stepson doesn't like me, need another kid to raise myself.' and 'Oh daughter is deaf, can't play piano or do anything extraordinary and is not a genius like me, need a kid who is not made of fail'
And then they go to the orphanage and are like 'aw poor russian girl who can sing well and makes genius paintings! THIS IS THE BEST PUPPY OF THE LOT, LET US ADOPT!'
And then it's all 'OH NO TURNS OUT IS NOT GOOD LITTLE GIRL SHE KILL US WHY WHAT WE DO?
Because you're a bunch of assholes who picked a kid just to boost your goddamned ego, only you're so far shoved up your own a** you don't even recognize you're doing it?
God, asswads.

me and Austin got Repo Men because I really love Jude Law and it was surprisingly good. Lots of blood and gore which I like. It's basically about these guys who work for this company that sells organs to people. They're like, metal organs. And when people can't pay for their organs these repo men go and collect. Meaning take the organs.
Pretty awesome.
Saw Inception in theaters too, and that was equally awesome. Like, boggle my mind and really make me think. I really like stuff about dreams and that's what it was all about. Go see it if you can guys.

So I finally watched The Proposal (starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds) and absolutely loved it. There's a lot of subtle acting and facial/gesture humor that really brings something different from Ryan's usual acting style (over-the-top-hilarious.) I would never in a hundred years have thought Ryan and Sandra would have ANY on-screen chemistry, but I was pleasantly surprised as the movie drew me into their body language and really convinced me of a strong connection hidden beneath the characters' outward behaviors.
Awesome movie, superb acting (the supporting cast was marvelous), brilliant pacing -- loved it from start to finish.
