Kia openly laughed with relief. He wasn't crazy! It really did happen! Then he noticed he was laughing. "I'm sorry. I'm not laughing at your injury. I just didn't know how to bring up the subject." Kia offered his hand to help her up. "Well, that answers one question. The other one is, you seem to know me, or at least something about me. Can you tell me what you know?" Kia had a very serious face on now. He truly wanted to know who he was. She also happened to be the only person that treated him like a human, and not as a star athlete to be used to get higher in the social chain. "Before you answer that question, I can't keep referring to you as 'that girl' or as 'the new girl'. What is your name?" He smiled at her, his hand still reaching down at her, ready to help her up with her good arm.

"Kalia..." she said gently, "And I'm not sure myself what you are... all I know is that you are not human... but..." she hesitated she was not supposed to talk to mortals like this but he wasn't mortal so it was okay... right? "You're not human... you're also not any kind of were I've ever met..." she said trying to figure things out in her head.

Kia ended up stopping, standing still with an odd expression on his face. "N-n-not... human?" It never downed on him that he was anything but a human. "And you really are?" He pointed to her, a still slack jawed expression on his face. It seemed as though it was taking him a while to process the information, all of it. From confronting what happened last night, as well as other facts. Kia then shook his head violently. "I ask who I am, and I get a what." He was still dumb founded, but was now getting his legs to work to follow her again.

Kalia's lips twitched, "You're taking this better then most, if it's any consolation..." she said a smile hiding in her eyes, "I am a werewolf... or had you forgotten that too... I was the light carmel wolf that saved your a** last night..." she said dryly.

Kia was still a little in shock, but he couldn't help but ask, "And how many people do you have to tell that they aren't human?" He then considered the rest of what she said, "So. Your a werewolf. You can change your shape on a full moon, and stuff like that? I don't feel any different on a full moon, or for any moon. I get hurt. I have no special abilities. I mean, I pass out from lack of blood. How can I be a monster?" As soon as he said it, he regretted saying those words. "Not that your a... um.. sorry." He hoped he hasn't angered her. If he had, he might never know who he is, not to mention what now. In a desperate attempt to change from his slip up, he went on, "So, what makes you think I'm not human?" He was desperate for answers. He just hoped she would still answer them. She wasn't a monster. She might have a tough side to her, but she was soft and pleasant to be around. Despite her secrets, she seemed honest and true to herself. Her skin was too perfect, too soft looking to be a monster. Her face too nice to look at... Stop getting distracted! Have to stay focused on getting the answers. There will be time for that later, if she isn't mad at me already.

Kalia smiled, "You would be about... the 10th? 11th? about one every century..." she said, "I can change whenever I like... even on the night of the new moon...." She laughed at his 'monster' comment, her laugh the kind that would ensnare a man with its musical tone, "Actually I am a monster... that was my curse... 'As fickle as the Moon, so will ye be ruled by it, to change as it does, into the monster that hides behind your beauty' and so long as I am a monster within I will continue to change..." she said and shrugged her good shoulder, "A little bit of advice, never piss of sorceresses..." she paused to think how best to say what she wanted to say in a way that would make sense to him, "Your blood smells..." she wrinkled her nose trying to think of a good adjective, "different..."

"I should have known, the were sense of smell." Kia was still a little dubious of all of this, but he felt something was right. She had no reason to lie to him. "So then, seen as you knew a sorceress... how long have you been... you know?" Kia still didn't know how to approach this. "Also, you don't seem to need human help, so why are you here?" He probably was saying the wrong things, but he was secretly hoping she would be staying for a while. A long while. Her laugh was too funny. He was glad she didn't get upset about the monster comment. "What do you think I am? Sorry, too many questions at once. Too little time", Kia said as he looked at the clock. This class was almost done. They had done nothing but talk and walk. He didn't even do any running yet. "Um... I think we need to continue this talk. I don't know about you, but I need more answers. I'm willing to do whatever I need to as well to get these answers." He was probably sounding desperate at this point, but he was living for the past four years with no past, not history. He didn't even know he was... something other than... human. He was a monster. Something from legend. A creature. Sub.. no. Once again, stop thinking that. He was himself. He was always this way. Knowing the truth didn't stop him from being himself. Knowing a piece of the truth didn't magically change him into something else. He was human... no, he wasn't. Kia, if that even was his real name, wasn't human. He was... something else. He was no monster though. That he was sure of.

Kalia smiled faintly, "You never ask a lady her age... and it looks like any more information and your head will fall off..." she sighed and glanced at the time, "How about you call me after school and we can get together... I'll answer what more of your questions I can then..." she said before heading off to get her stuff just as the bell rang.

The rest of the day passed slowly. Kia barely paid any attention to his other classes, though they thankfully wasn't as bad as his first class. He also didn't see Kalia any more throughout the day. They only seemed to share the first two classes of the day. Alice continued her passes, insisting upon encroaching on his personal space whenever she could. Out of all the girls, she was the worst one he could have had as a stalker. She seemed to be everywhere, except for the gym, and harked on him constantly. He couldn't flirt with any of the other girls while she was there, not even an innocent wink. Her glare seemed enough to paralyze a bull in full charge. Well, needless to say, the day did end at sometime. Kia ran home, impatient to get to the phone to call, Kalia's number still written on his hand. He dropped off his stuff and instantly picked up the phone, looking at his hand and dialing. He just hoped she would be there, as he had run to get home quickly, and she might have walked. A creek from a different room startled Kia, as no one else should have been home yet. Not for at least another hour or more. Yojan was still in school. Kia just passed it off as the building shifting it's weight or something. He heard that buildings can do that from time to time. But he couldn't help but shake the feeling he was being watched again...

Kalia pulled out her cell as she rolled her shoulder to work the last of the healing kinks out of it, "Naturai here." she said briskly her normally pointedly blank voice sounding lighter then usual.

"Um, is Kalia around?" Kia asked. He hoped he didn't dial the wrong number. It sounded like her, but over the phone no ones voice seemed to ever sound the same. Just then, the line went dead. The cord dangled freely. Kia was now looking in the face of the same were as last night. Dropping the phone, it clattered to the ground, something it normally wouldn't have done had the cord still been attached to the phone. With a growl, the were showed sharp, yellowed, misaligned teeth. "I didn't expect to see you so soon, friend. Now I finally get to finish the job from last night." With a growled, the were finished with, "I recognize you from four years ago. Hard to believe you still lived after the thrashing I gave you. Time to have some fun, oh great Altrist." Kia's eyes all the while grew in size. Terror struck him as he stood there, staring into the eyes of the beast. They where golden in color, with the area nearest the pupil being a sliver. Why was he looking at the beasts eyes so intently? He should be running away! Kia tried to move his legs, but they felt filled with cement. They were heavy, and had rooted themselves into the floor. The were smiled, raising a claw into the air. "After so many years, your life ends here." Then he slashed down. Out of desperation, Kia leaped to the side, running into a wall near his bedroom's door. The were's claws dug into the floor, creating slashes into the flooring. Kia's instincts took over, as he bolted to the only seemingly safe place, his bedroom. He slammed the door behind him, setting the old deadbolt that was rarely used. The growl on the other side of the door grew, and then the door gave a thump. Some claw marks already appeared in the door. "You fool. Do you really expect a flimsy piece of wood to keep me out? I shall kill you, no matter where you go or what you do. I shall kill the murderer of my family!" Kia was already unlatching the window, but he wouldn't be able to get it open in time. Backing up, Kia saw only one way out fast enough. Running to the window, he readied for the pain. Then, just as the door smashed in, he crashed through the window. Shards of glass embedded into his arms, and a gash appeared on his face. He was outside at least, and the beast now in his room. At a full on run, Kia ran for the woods. Unfortuntly for him, it was also the last place he would want to run. The howl from behind hastened his steps. That was, until he slipped on some fallen pine needles. He fell face first into the ground, blood already starting to pool from his head wound, and the gashes in his forearms. He dared a look backwards, and realized he only bought a few more moments of life with his stunt, as the wolf creature now jumped out the window behind him, uninjured thanks to Kia removing the glass for him. Unknown to Kia however, the smaller wounds in his hands had already closed, and under the blood were healthy skin. His forehead was already pushing the glass out from his skin, but he didn't notice. All Kia noticed was the hulking form running behind him. Even at his record run, he would stand no chance against this creature's speed. Stumbling up, Kia went to a run. Every second he could buy was another second of life. He had a brother to look after. A mother who cared for him. Even if he died tonight, he had to make sure this creature didn't go after them. Slipping on the pines, Kia ran forwards, his speed increasing. The werewolf slowly gaining ground, his growling and howling growing every louder. The thudding of his feet matching the pace of Kia's heart in his ears. His time was getting closer, but he wouldn't give up without a fight.

Kalia heart a second breathing pattern for a moment before the phone went dead. She sheathed her sword that she had been practicing with and pulled her long coat around her to cover it, before taking off in the direction of Kia's house. She caught the scent of blood on the wind once she got close and skidded into the clearing. The wolf was much larger then she was but this time she would stay in human form, she drew her blade with a practiced motion, "Phase back!" she commanded the wolf, standing between him and Kia her silver blade shimmering with runes of power, "In the name of the High Council!" she said using the authority without authorization but in a time of need.

The were growled. "You and the council can go to Hell." He took a few steps closer, "Your the one form the night before? What does this pathetic piece of human shell mean to you? Have you found a lover in this murderer? He killed my family, so I shall kill him!" He charged, not caring about any consequences. His goal was but a few feet in front of him. All he had to do was get around this little nuisance from the council and he could have the kill he had been waiting for centuries. Kia was stumbling at this point. Blood has seeped into one of his eyes, stinging it till he was forced to close it. His arms and head was covered in blood and glass. When he heard a voice behind him, he turned. Fearing it was another were out to kill him for who knows what reason. Instead, it was Kalia. He had wished to see her in a more... romantic situation. Her body was beautiful. From the angle he was at, he could clearly see how strong she physically looked. For some reason, Kia liked the thought of her being as strong as he was, if not stronger. He saw her proclaim something about a council, but it didn't seem to be working. Once again, Kia tried to talk reason to the enraged beast, "I'm not how you think I am! I never killed anyone!" He shouted, spitting blood that happened to seep onto his lips. He looked like he had been through a thrasher, yet he really was hardly injured at all now, except for a few deep gashes from the glass that is.

After flinching at the L-word Kalia heard him out and when he charged she side stepped and brought the hilt (silver) down on the were's back before skipping back and kicking him to the side once he was unbalanced, "I am an Enforcer and this is a not a were. It is our duty to protect mortals..." she said, "Take your grievance up with the Council, do not try and solve it yourself, or you risk exposing us all!" She held her blade in the cross position."The council are a bunch of fools! As long as the mortals do not find out, I can do whatever I feel like!" the were lunged, yelled some more in a low growl, "Can't you tell though? He is no mortal! He is not protected!" Kalia used her hand to brace the blade as the were charged her again and sliced her palm up rather badly, but as he touched the blade she began chanting, her words awakening the spells on the blade and setting the were's fur on fire and burning Kalia's hands.
Once he had fled Kalia knelt beside Kia. Using her bloody hand still flowing freely and her blood still charged with power from using of spell she turned his face to face her, "Kia..." she murmured wondering how he would ever be able to recover from this.

The were howled with the pain, jumping backwards from the sword, and its magic ability to produce flames. "I'll kill you. She can't protect you forever, meat bag!" He pointed at Kia, with the message of death, then, he bounced a couple of times on the ground, and the lunged into the trees, disappearing again. "Kalia! Watch out!" Kia shouted as the were lunged for the first time. She seemed to handle herself though, knocking the larger were around with the hilt of her sword. Then the beast lunged again, grabbing her swords blade to rend it from her grasp, only to get greeted with flames that consumed his fur. Kia looked at Kalia. At this point, a flaming sword was no different than her being a were, and him being... whatever he was. "Are you alright? Your bleeding" Kia stated the obvious. Then again he was still covered in blood as well. "You need to take care of that..." For some reason, Kia had an urge to take her hand to his mouth and drink. He didn't know where the feeling came from, but it was intense. Without realising it, he had grabbed her bleeding hand, but he did nothing else with it. He didn't bring it to him mouth like how he wanted. Then his eyes grew in size, as he realized what he had done, and what he was thinking. "I'm sorry. I have to..." He didn't even finish the sentence, as he let go of her hand and ran in the opposite direction. His eyes where closed as he ran ahead, thoughts running through his mind. He only stopped because he lost his footing again and slid on the fallen pine needles. He sat there, resting on his knees, his hands holding his chest from the ground, as he breathed deeply. It was like someone had knocked the air out of his lungs. He was sure Kalia could still see him, but he didn't dare look to see if she followed. He probably looked rather week from her angle. Not a good thing for the girl your trying to impress. He just couldn't fathom wanting to drink blood. It wasn't food, and doing anything like that on front of her would probably make her think he was a weirdo. He fought with his desire as he breathed, slowly bringing it to rest. Then a thought struck him, how was he going to explain the house to his mother? More importantly, how was he going to take care of his own injuries? Kalia need help too, he was sure of it. He should go back to help her. Kneeling on his legs, Kia took a glance back, to see if Kalia was still there. His eye lids felt heavy now, the rush of adrenalin fading, then the world grew blurry again. Unable to see her, Kia slumped onto the ground, falling sideways into the pines and dirt. He didn't even know if she was still there, before the black abyss of unconsciousness took him over again.
