Duncan snorted. You couldn't ignore a stare like that. He sat up slowly, brow arched.
"What."

"Tell me."
He watched him, just staring. He would wear him down. He had the powah! He could do it!

Oh.
"Drop it, Al." No anger, just another heavy sigh and another stolen lump of meat.

"I'm not going to."
He rolled his eyes at him, snorting. "You know me. I'm like a beast with a bone with stuff like this." He scratched the egg absently, watching him. Juuust watching. Kind creepy, wasn't it?

Extremely.
"Al. I'm serious. Stop." A bit stern!

Juuuust watching, Duncan.

"Alright. I have a crush on that guy who chased you into the woods," Duncan hissed, showing his first slightly flash of temper in...well. In forever.
"No, wait. The girl I just heaved fruit at. She's just gotta be crazy about me."

He blinked, and snorted a little. "Don't lie." He rolled his eyes at him. "You didn't see the guy who chased me. And you don't even know who that girl was, I bet." He rolled his eyes again, snorting.
"Fine. Don't tell me. And if it's a jerk and they hurt you you better tell me then so I can hurt them back." He glowered at him.

Duncan's eyes actually flickered up to meet Alister's a moment. No negative reaction to 'that guy'? No 'she', just 'they'? Hm. The Gargoyle's face went suddenly innocent; shamed.

He snorted a little at the expression, finishing off his bit of meat irritably. He tapped on the egg, scratching quietly at the shell.

"Be careful. It fell a long way," Duncan offered, back to his cool self. The shame was gone. Now he was just a hungry Gargoyle.

He nodded, sighing a little, and pressed his ear against the egg. He tapped it lightly, listening, then straightened up. Watching him again.

Duncan just watched back. Hmph.
"Look, Al.Just get me drunk some day. Real drunk. I'll probably tell ya, and I mercifully won't remember." So there.

He snorted at him. "I shouldn't have to get you drunk when I just want you to be safe." He growled out, more irritated then angry. He rose, hefting the egg. "I should put this in the rookery before sunrise." He said finally, sighing.

Oh, Al, but that's what he was worried about. Staying safe.
"Alright."
And then, as an afterthought.
"I'm sorry."
