The notebook was a diary, it read:
The following is the record of Kranza, the left wing of Chaos.
Day 1:
I arrived at the Altar of Chaos today, I need to find my balance quickly if I'm going to get enough power to save my family, I've got to move fast.
Day 2:
Today I meditated all day, trying to get both halves of myself to come to peace with each other. It seems impossible, I might as well try and move this mountain! However, I will not give up, I will find the balance, I swear it.

Azaeria wasn't sure how to take it. Two selves? Her brow furrowed only the slightest bit, but quickly smoothed over. It would seem Kranza was a troubled individual. Oh well, what did it matter to me. This was only an arrend for her. Means to an end.
Yet, she was intrigued slightly and continued to read.

Day 5:
It's the fifth day here and I still haven't done it! It's frustrating but I refuse to give up! My family is counting on me, and I made a promise that I intend to keep. Tomorrow I'm going to try something new...

Something new? She tapped her fingers slightly, considering. Azaeria wondered how exactly somebody could combine two people... or more so, two selves into one. She continued.

The writing on this page was different, it was more fluent and seemed stronger.
I can feel it! Power, absolute power! But it's not Chaos, I visited him today, he helped me. I only unlocked the power from my dark half but I can feel it flowing through me, it's exhilarating! I'm leaving the Altar of Chaos tomorrow, I'll save my family, no matter what.

Azaeria smirked ironically. Now he saves his family from an awful fate. She continued reading, thinking she had it all figured out.

Fatal cleared his throat. "...Well," he replied, after a few moments' pause, "you have me all figured out, do you? And what, exactly," Fatal continued to ask, "do you require from me, in this alliance? I gain knowledge, and you gain... my necromancy?"
((Come to think of it, we could just invent a new character that supposedly died long ago, here, too. An interesting plot twist, at the least.))

Kranza smiled and nodded slightly, "Somewhat, your necromancy and access to your assist trophies, to make into my....allies." He said with a grin.
The writing on this page was broken and hard to read, as if the person writing had shaking hands, the pages also seemed to be stained with a few drops of what seemed like blood. In some areas the writing was unreadable.
I killed them, I couldn't control it, I ju-........and then they were dead, How? how did it happen? I we-..............Him, it had to be him, I'm going to go fight him now, this might be my last entry in this journal, if anyone reads this, don't trust him, don't open the door.......goodbye....

Fatal raised an eyebrow. "Surely, my collection of... six or seven, or so, Trophies isn't enough to pique your curios--ah." Necromancy was the key. Kranza was, of course, more than capable enough of retrieving his own Assist Trophies. Fatal's were only a convenience... though Fatal was not interested in giving up his hard-earned personal spoils in Assist Trophies.
"Say, hypothetically, I was considering your offer," Fatal suggested, crossing his arms. "What would be the first act of our alliance?"

Kranza smiled and spread his hands, "I ask for something simple, one figure brought back to life, and one assist trophy, then I will tell you the name and location of someone who is able to break out of trophyfication, and is very resistant to the process itself.

Azaeria frowned. It's gibberish! She thought as she glided her fingers over the last entry again, trying to make sense of it. All that was clear was that he killed his family. And who's 'him'? She shook her head, giving up on the riddle. She closed the Diary and returned it to it's spot as it was before. She turned away, crossing her arms in impatience.

The diary opened itself once more, to the pages Azaeria had stopped on, as if some strange force was urging her to read on, begging her to keep going to the final pages.

Azaeria jerked as she heard the cover knock on the desk. She turned back to it. After a moment's hesitation, Azaeria reached out a cautious hand, realizing where it had stopped. She took a breath, then continued on.

Fatal snorted. "Those stakes aren't fair. 'Name and location'?" he echoed Kranza, "isn't even close to enough. The first and most important question, would be, what would I be able to do with this question? Track down and fight someone I can't kill? I would have to be assured that this person would be on friendly terms and willing to divulge his secret or talent, so that I could learn it. If you can promise that I would be satisfied, with the information you were to give me, and that it would lead to something I would consider worth-while, then your price would be... negotiable," Fatal said finally.
The only other question, would be... 'Which assist trophy?'
