Naw Rick Mercer is waay better, he explains the politics AS he makes fun of it. PLUS he does stuff, he tried out the G-force simulator at NASA..AND did the 0 gravity simulation in the plane. HE's imersed himself in Ice water for a random university study. Came up witha competition to get canadian university's from all across the country to have a contest to see who could buy the most nets for african families. Etc etc...

Colbert has been Knighted by Queen Noor, actually had became a character created in the Marvel Universe, has received several honors from important leaders, got Jane Fonda to 'Kiss the Cook' as they made an apple pie with another feminist, He's gotten famous actresses to admit that they love his show, AND I've seen news casts USING some of his segments

Rick Mercer has talked to possibly every politician in Canada, does weekly segments on special events all over canada (which btw he also attends/takes part in). He's done possibly every weird thing you could think of.
The only thing cool Colbert did that Rick possibly hasn't is that characer in the Marvel universe thing...

Colbert has a 'Better Know a District' wich is a 435 part segment where he interviews the congress representatives of a district. Also just about anyone that goes on his show gets the "Colbert Bump" which is if people did not know them before the show they became more widely know, weither its selling books, movies, etc, HE'S BUMP HAS EVEN HELPED GET PEOPLE INTO OFFICE!!! Colbert has created his own cartoon (The Tek Jansen Adventure). He's gotten several awards; from PBody's in Best Reporter; Emmey's, etc

Good grief charlie brown. rolleyes I am not personally going to look up any corresponding awards/abilities for Rick Mercer. Mainly because I've already written what I know of and I've only occaisionally watched the show -> which should speak for itself.
And finally -> because I thikn you're getting a liiiitle too into this... ninja
