"Hush, pup, there's no need to cry anymore." He mumbled as Gizmo snapped awake, frowning slightly, he felt the eyes of the pup on him quite easily. "Why are you so pained?" He asked bluntly, staring forward with blind eyes. Closing them after a moment, he allowed the heavenly pounding of deers' hooves on the ground...far off, he could hear them--see through their eyes. There were herds heading in the same direction as the pack...thank god. They wouldn't starve.
"Why do you let your mind be so hurt?" He asked this in a different question, glancing over his shoulder to the pup on his back.
"There's no need to feel pain anymore, you're safe now. I wont let anyone hurt you."

Gizmo pointedly ignored the question, or rather he heard him but could not bring himself to answer. His throat felt thick and clumsy, unable to form words whether he had wanted to or not.
Then when the wolf turned to look at him he felt something twinge in his heart, and the ache which had faded once again returned. His eyes fell to a small droplet of blood that had dried into Gaara's fur and a wave of grief racked his body.
The tremor was so violent that the pup let his body slide from the wolf's back to land clumsily in the snow, and once he felt the ground beneath his paws he straightened himself and continued onwards.
What was he supposed to do? How did one accept the loss of a family member?

He watched him fall, and ceased his steps, turning fully on his haunches and blocking the pup from moving on. "I know you're angry with me, you hate me deep down, right?" He got an amused smirk from this...though, from a trained eye, they could see it was fake.
"Tell me, Gizmo. How does it feel to know that I destroyed your friend? ...Your brother." He had connected their scents after he had killed sable, they smelt alike, and that's what got to him.
"Let out your anger, pup, let it out. Tell me that you hate me and you want me dead, you want me to be killed in a more painful way than your brother...you want me to squirm in pain and feel what Sable must have felt."
He growled this, staring down at the pup. Gizmo was small, but getting bigger, and stronger. He lowered his body, and fell onto his side, spreading his body out, and baring his neck.
"You want me dead," he smiled to him...a warm smile, not that of a twisted murderer. "Kill me. Rip my throat out, let your pain loose..."

He paused in step, lifting his muzzle to look at Gaara, there was a dullness in his golden eyes that made it clear he was in no mood to fight or speak or do anything but walk...walk to new lands...start afresh once more...
Ears flattened against his head as he listened to the elder speak, he wanted to growl, tell this wolf to leave him alone and stop saying such horrible things, but his voice evaded him once more.
Let out his anger? Did he really expect him to kill? Gizmo had been the one to destroy his brother even if he hadn't done so physically, he could not blame Gaara, not one little bit.
He swallowed as the wolf spread himself on the snow, as if wishing for death, why was this male so strange? Did he not care that if he died, Lexi would be as broken as he himself was now? Did he not care that he caused pain to others? He canted his head before lowering his gaze and with a swish of his tail, walked silently past. Why...why could he not find any words?

He stood, and followed behind Gizmo, making sure that every stumble the pup made, he would make it back to his feet. "Gizmo," he sighed, and would look down at the small pup. Nudging him with his nose, he'd keep his head low...to the pup's level of vision.
"I know how you feel," he commented, and looked to him, wanting to be heard. "You still have siblings...yes? You aren't alone in this world. You have Lera, Haku, Kamali, that female..." He had yet to meet her, so the name he did not know. Lifting his head, he frowned. "Lexi, and I bet on my life many many others."
Closing his eyes, he allowed the chilled air to rush across his blood coated face...the scent of Sable's death still fresh in his nose. "I wont let anyone hurt you anymore, I'll protect you. I wont allow myself to harm you again, either."

Suuru watched from his branch, his head tilting to one side at the strange behavior of the marked one- the murderer. He was a twisted one he was.... malus was spread along him as much as the markings had. Blood still stained his muzzle and fur in places- he was guilty but seemed to have taken pleasure in it, pleasure in tormenting the young ones. A dangerous one he was- dangerous and mad. The crow felt for the young one- he could see the pain and sorrow and guilt, it was so thick he could almost taste it. Be strong little one..., he spoke in his mind, wishing there was a way to translate it to the pup, The hardest winters bring forth the most pleasent springs.
He launched from his branch and glided down to the pup, backwinging and landing as carefully as he could on the pup's shoulder. His golden eyes locked onto one of the pups and he made a silent chirping noise- clicking his beak as if trying to speak. It did little but it was something.
((Man I feel so bad for Gizmo))

The sound of their paws crunching in the snow was one of comfort, Gizmo walked slowly, his legs felt strangely weighted, and his head held low. He shivered and swivelled his ears back to listen to Gaara's words.
He noted that the wolf was using a softer tone now, and wondered why. Only a moment ago he was growling...wanting Gizmo to end his life. Perhaps it had been a test? To see if he was strong enough to take revenge? But what did revenge do...it would bring only more hate and bloodshed into the world and he did not want that at all.
He nodded as Gaara listed the names of the ones he still cared for, they had not protected his brother, but then neither had he.
By 'that female', he guessed that Gaara was speaking of Aeria...where was she now? Further ahead? He hoped she was okay, she was his first friend and would always be regarded as 'special' no matter what happened.
At Gaara's last sentence Gizmo halted and looked up at the larger wolf, a look of confusion in his eyes. This wolf was fierce and violent in one moment, then kind and gentle in another...in this state Gizmo could not help but like the older wolf. He was being genuine and he had only done what he had thought right at the time...protecting the wolves he cared for.
His ears perked up as he heard the clapping of wings and turned his head round to regard the black flitter in surprise. His maw hung open and eyes widened as he watched the small black creature in slight fear. Did it mean to harm him? He could not help but let his gaze become drawn to the sharp beak.
His tail curled around one hind leg and a whimper managed to break free from his thick and useless throat, but he remained motionless, afraid that any movement would cause the bird to attack, and yet one glance in those eyes made the pup realise that perhaps this bird wasn't intending to hurt him. Could it possibly understand what had gone on and merely wished to sympathise? He hoped so.

Suuru turned his head, gently preening at a tufft of fur on the wolf pup's cheek as he had done for his master many times. His talons gripped lightly so they didn't poke at the pup- they were firm so he didn't fall but not enough to seem forcefull. The creature seemed frightened of him for some reason or another...than again not many of his kind would allow a crow near them, perhaps it was fear? Speaking of fear the murderer was still there. The crow watched him out of the corner of his eye, the feathers along his head ruffeling just slightly. He'd certainly not hesitate to kill a crow if he felt it would be sport enough...

He'd smile, and lift his head...Ceasing his steps when he heard the pup stop as well. It was true...he held a neverending grudge and hate to Sable, which would still not be calmed, despite the death of the pup. He'd sigh heavily, and look back down to him.
"You can depend on me, I'm your protector. You're part of my family, and I will treat you that way." He nodded, and would eye the crow that came down to land atop the pup's shoulder. He knew...he knew that the bird wouldn't harm him either.
"You're tired," he commented, and would nudge the bird off of the pup's shoulder, and slowly pick Gizmo up. Setting him against his back once more, he'd move towards the pack once more...half expecting the bird to follow, but paying little mind to it as he passed it by.
"Your friend is up with Haku, lets catch up so you can tell her you're okay. She was worried about you," he commented, not looked back to Gizmo while he moved. Looking to Suuru, he turned his head a bit, as if baring his shoulder so the crow could come with them for a ways...he could tell this bird was that of Feanaro's, remembering the last time he had seen Feanaro with the crow atop his shoulder...his old Alpha, his former father.

The crow narrowed his eyes a bit, the feathers ruffeling out as if insulted by the offer of his shoulder. He'd not have much to do with this ungrateful pupling... the creature sought to assist the female pupling in murder of his master- the bloodlust in both their eyes had given way to that, the angry snarls and wicket fangs gnashing at them. He cawed, hunching his wings over his head slightly- almost scolding Gaara if a crow could have an opinion on the matter. His wings beat into the sky and he found himself a comfortable draft to fly on, his eyes never leaving the form of the pup.

The pup calmed a little when the flitter made no move to hurt him, and a curiosity consumed him, he reached forwards to touch his pink nose against the bird, and almost jumped out of his pelt when Gaara nudged it away.
Gizmo merely nodded at Gaara as he spoke, not making a sound as he was picked up and draped over the wolf's shoulder blades. He turned his head back to regard the crow, wondering if they were really as intelligent as they appeared to be.
His eyes felt heavy but he did not sleep, instead he turned his head to face forwards once more, letting his eyes trail up to the canopy of bare branches above them.
Aeria...they were going to see Aeria...

The alpha male sighed and kept his pace, now that Aeria was relaxing atop his shoulders, he would make his way towards the river. This would be the hardest part, he would sigh. They all needed to watch out for the three pups. The current might be enought to wipe the pups out. The ice had melted from the part they were crossing.. He thought it would be safe her to through then try to cross over ice. Breathing heavily, he would continue to move.

Kamali was sick of being hoiseted around. He knew it was for his own protection, but at the moment he did not like any of these wolves. Deep down he knew he had a family love for them, but right now? He was confused. And depressed. And even angry. He didn't quite understand anger, but he knew he was it.
He squirmed "Carmen, put me down please. I would like to talk a little." He did not let his anger show, though. He did not want to hurt anyone, physically or mentally. Or be hurt. If he showed his anger surely they would hurt him..
His gaze flicked to the back, head turning. He was trying to spot Gizmo. He wondered why he'd fallen back. He didn't know Gizmo had a brother. He wimpered lightly. Where was his own brother? Why did he not come with them..
He did not even get to say good bye. Something clenched down on his heart at this thought. The worst thing in the world most be to not be able to say good bye to a loved one. What if you never saw them again?
"Please Carmen, put me down!" His voice was more urgent. He didn't want to be with any of the adults right now. He wanted to walk by himself.

((pathetic attepmt to catch up >.<; ))
Just a flash, a few seconds of time passing and the deed had been done. Haku has left her side and the next thing she remembered was the blood and a fallen pup. The sickening smiles on Garra and Lexi's faces. Lera clenched her teeth beneath her lips, her eyes hard. If this didn't want to get burned, he should have stayed away from the fire. Time could not be turned back and remorse couldn't not set. Lera remained silent, her mind occupied on her still slim stomach. It was still to early to tell if she was expecting, yet she kept her heart willing and strong.
Next thing she knew Gizmo had fainted and had then ben scooped up. her attention turned, they had reached the river. Haunting memories of Notoka's near death experience hunted her. But if you fell beneath the ice, there would be no saving you. She guled as she looked into the brackish water, yet kept a strong face to the pack. Lera sniffed at the shore, pressing her feet against the ice to test its strength. It was thin, too dangerous.
Lera moved back to Haku's side, the part that had melted was one of the shallower parts of the river, she had remembered when she crossed over...
"We are crossing here," she nodded assurance to Haku, who too, seemed to be wary of the river: it was only natural. Lera then turned to the pack, "We are crossing here, but let us first rest." she said, weary herself for all the events that had so recently happened ((X3 ))
