After taking a glace out of the large window in the living room, the drow gave a stretch before slipping off the couch. Cale seemed to have fallen asleep, a trickle of drool dribbled from his mouth.
Chuckling, Zaniah searched in the hallway closet for her spare helmet and this time grabbed her belt with it's dagger and sword strap attached. She hated being unprepared.
Taking a glance in the hallway mirror as she grabbed a clean t-shirt and pulled it on. It was a pale blue color with an odd symbol on it. The shadow hunter had had it made at a printing shop. The symbol was of her cultural language, and it meant "Proud Warrier".
Leaving her baggy black pants on, she slipped a spiked dog-collar on and plopped the helmet over her head. Soon she found herself at the park, having been able to dodge the early morning traffic with her extrodinary skills with a bike. It's not that she didn't like to go fast.. she just wasn't as obsessed about it as that elf apparently was.
Turning the engine off, she extracted the keys and placed her helmet on the seat before walking a few feet away and pressing a button that was on her key-chain. Giving a soft 'beep' it began giving off a steady humming noise, as if something electrical was still running inside it.

Arkus awoke as he always did, abruptly as if he had just had a nightmare that he could not remember. It was not frightening, just... sudden.
Of course, Arkus stood and changed into a new set of the clothes that he always wore, always having the appearance of wearing the same clothes day to day, though he was quite clean and made sure of it.
Not wasting any time, Arkus began the trek to the park, those that knew of him regarding him with either terror or simply with a nod, others regarding him with wonder, and the two groups talking about him and informing the ignorant group of his 'disfiguration' and the reason why he wore the 'mask'. This of course was a lie, and Arkus had used it many times.
Arkus arrived quickly at the park, wandering around and generally staying out of sight and out of mind, as best a minotaur could... He generally did not attract attention to himself, and he began to look for Hybrid, though he remembered that the man was a shapeshifter, and could be anything. This thought gave him chills, and he realized that the man could possibly be a duck or a frog or something of that sort....

Na'fiel awoke, just barely catching herself from gasping for air with her nonexistant gills. Not really wanting to sleep anymore, she yawned and sat up, stretching before slipping her feet into a pair of slippers and heading to the bathroom. The mermaid wasn't a vain little creature, so she didn't wear much makeup. Her complexion was smooth and her eyes didn't need any more colour. She started walking into the kitchen, a toothbrush in her mouth. After noting that the fridge was quite bare, Na'fiel shrugged and returned to the bathroom, spitting out the toothpaste and rinsing out her mouth.
Looking through her various clothing items, the woman seriously doubted that she could dress 'inconspicuously' (sp?). Her eyes and hair were enough to attract attention. Taking an elastic band, she pulled her hair into a polytail and stuck on a hat. She also wore sunglasses, to shield others from looking into her bright optics. The rest of her outfit was comprised of black pants, a dark blue tank top and a black jacket.
"Well, I guess I'm off..." she thought, grabbing her purse and keys and heading out the door, remembering to lock it when she left.
The jorney to the park was uneventful, considering she had just beaten rush hour traffic. The sun had already risen, considering it was summer and the bright azure of the sky was showing off it's flawless hue. Clouds dotted the skies in few places, leaving room for the sun to warm the earth. Parking along the sidewalk, Na'fiel hoped that this was the right park. After she had scanned the area a few times, she saw that a few of the others from last night had already arrived.
Now...to look for Hybrid...

With a large yawn, Kort stretched and murmured to his apartment/bed companion, "Mrm, five more minutes." A hand glided across her hip and he curled up more.
"It's-" He felt her lean over. "-only...really early, Kort, you don't need five minutes." With a contented sigh, she wriggled closer. Really early...or late. His mind barely registered it, but when it did, he popped up.
"AGH, god damn!!!" One of the elf's more favorite expressions was ejected when he rolled onto the floor with a crash, taking all the blankets with him. "I need a NEGATIVE five, babe!" Z'Kort stumbled through the apartment, ignoring the woman's murmured insinuations. She couldn't catch him with her words as much as a frog could catch an elephant.
Thud.
"Who closes a bathroom door?!" He roared, ripping it open and stomping inside. A quick shower and the usual hygeine rituals brought the man into his closet.
"Black...I need black." She was moving around in the kitchen already, apparently awake, now. "Hey! Do I own anything black, babe?"
"Sure, you own everything, Kort," she replied, adding. "Sunny side up or scrambled?"
"Anything fast," he grumbled, digging around. Finding a tight-knit black sweater and slipping on a pair of black jeans, it was little trouble getting socks on. White, though, because black socks made one's feet smell bad. His pants were baggy enough to hide the white, anyway.
A quick perusal of the kitchen area rewarded him with a bagel. "Bagel!!!" He screeched, grabbing it and stuffing most of the thing into his mouth. "Ugh uhn-u'er?"
The woman giggled, pulling one out of the toaster and quickly lathering it in cream cheese. Handing it to him along with a napkin, he rushed off, not bothering to lace his boots up.
The elf spent five seconds at a red light tying the shoes up and finishing his first bagel. When he reached the park, the space he'd taken the mini-van from was still empty. Parking the vehicle there, Kort grabbed his last bagel, then locked and exited the car.
As he chewed on it, the speed demon glanced around, noticing the other three from last night. "God damn, I'm last again," he murmured. The speed demon shrugged. No matter, I'm not ridiculously late. Already half-way through the pastery, he strolled up to the other members, silent.

((w00ts! I'm back whee ))
Hybrid watched them in solemn silence. The minotaur walking around as well as the drow. Both seeming to search, or look for something. He sighed without a sound wondering if they could try to be less obvious. There was the mermaid, she too starting to look around.
Hybrid thought for a bit and then suddenly changed. The man no longer stood there. Instead something stood in the darkness watching with great interest. Only the golden eyes were the same. Hypnotic and intoxicating. He breathed slowly and normally before walking from the shadows, when the rest weren't looking.
Ah...the elf could be seen hurrying in last and later than should be. The day had passed by for the man quickly. Yet no longer was he a man. The voluptuous woman walked slowly up the hill dusting her skin tight jogging pants off. She wore a cut off top that showed her toned stomach, as well as plenty of view of her cleavage. She wore a hoodie, pink in color, over that, but unzipped to allow others to see her beauty.
She began walking along the street and smiled at the minotaur with a dazzling bright smile. Her eyes couldn't be seen because of a pair of sunglasses she wore. Her hair though was about midback in length, and platinum blond. It shone like diamonds and jewels in the fading day. She walked past him and then moved along to the others.
She would pass each with a smile, walking along through the park seeming to be working out in the last few hours of day. There was no aura, no pull, or a feeling of power. Hybrid seemed to not be there...maybe it had been a prank, or maybe there was something he was doing to them. Who knew...

Na'fiel looked around the park, her eyes only finding trees, grass and few people. Was this another one of Hybrid's tests? He never seemed to want to just tell them outright where he was and what to do. Why was that?
By mid-afternoon, it was starting to get hotter and considering that she was wearing all black, the mermaid was feeling more than a little uncomfortable. She strode over to a nearby bench and sat in the shade. Usually being more comfortable in the water, Na'fiel was not enjoying the heat.
A large-chested woman passed by, giving smiles to each of them. The gears in the woman's mind began to turn. On one hand, she could be just a friendly person...on the other, it could be a clue as to where they were supposed to meet Hybrid.
Standing, she waved a greeting to the young woman.
"Excuse me," she called, "Do you have a minute?" Well, it was worth a try. Even if she didn't find him, she could narrow it down by process of elimination.

The woman stopped with that celebrity smile nodding a bit. She had a bit of sweat on her showing that she had been working for a while. Her eyes hidden behind the spectacles of tinted glass. Her hoodie hiding her shoulders and back, but not her front in the least.
Her hourglass form shaped nicely down to her toned legs. She wiped her brow and rested her hands on her hips with a nod. "Yes miss I do...what did you need?" Her voice was sweet and soft. Such kind flowing words floated from her lips seeming to be what needed to be said. She didn't seem to waste words or her time.
Despite this she stopped and waited for the young lady in black to speak. Her words flowed out again before Na'fiel could speak. "Aren't you hot in that black attire? It may be getting close to 6 at night but still..." She smiled and shrugged. Her undershirt was grey, and her hoodie pink. The workout pants she wore were pink with white stripes down the sides. She seemed like she could be a richer New Yorker in Central Park((If I'm in the wrong city it is just a small park instead))...it was completely possible.

Watching the well endowed woman with a curious interest, Zaniah made sure she was within listening distance when the mermaid stopped her.
Reaching into her back pocket for a sky-blue base-ball cap, she plunked it on her head, hiding her ears well enough. She wasn't wearing all black like the others, and almost laughed when they all showed up looking like a group of spies.
Her pale blue t-shirt and baggy pants would make her seem like a teenage delinquent of sorts. And the pack of ciggerettes she pulled out of her pocket added to the spectical even more so. Lighting one she leaned against one of the many trees, staying as much out of the light as she could.
There was something odd about that woman though, either she was truely that flawless, or she had had one too many face-lifts and bo-tox injections. After learning how humans had changed their features and 'imperfections' it was so funny to the drow that she had almost falled over laughing upon hearing it. Sure her own kind did that too, but only a few mages could, and that was with doing serious magic. But it never lasted more than maybe a few days.. depending on the power of the magician.
Taking a drag of her lit cigerette she looked as if she was just watching the joggers and cyclers.

Arkus saw the woman run past him with a smile. Either she was one of his fans, which he doubted from her looks, or she had eye problems... Anyone that could smile at a eight foot tall, heavily muscled black man obviously was either friends with him or simply wishing to go by unharmed. Something wasn't right. Arkus had a feeling it wasn't... Maybe Hybrid was testing them...
Farther away, he saw the woman, Na'fiel or whatever her name was, talking with the woman... he would wait until the fool elf tried something, then he might intervene... as a matter of fact, where was that elf? He looked around. Seemed like he had been a late arrival... was this a trap? A prank? Arkus' mind did not usually think things things through, but he was trying his best, this time.
He thought for a few moments. At any rate, Hybrid must be found, he figured. Once again, not thinking things through, trusting too much at what lay before him...
Now, Hybrid was almost certainly here by now. He wouldn't let them all pop up in one place at any given time and not have them under his supervision. No, Hybrid was not like that, he knew from just watching him those few minutes in the room behind the mirror.
Yes, Hybrid was most certainly here, but who? Arkus did know of Hybrid's shapeshifting abilities, as the knowledge of them had been shared with the four.
Or even, what was Hybrid right now? He could even be a stone, a rock, a frog, a duck, the bench he stood in front of!
He turned around and poked it a few times with a large finger, just to make sure. It eased his mind, slightly.

Na'fiel shrugged.
"A little, but it's nothing," she answered, straightening her glasses, "Well, I stopped you because I'm here to meet someone. It seems like he's not here yet, though. I was wondering if you've seen him." I wonder if you are him... were the words that came unspoken as Na'fiel waited for an answer.
If this was Hybrid, he should understand her meaning. If not, then the mermaid would just be another visitor to this park, stopping a nearby jogger just to ask a question. She hoped it was the first.
As they spoke, Na'fiel noted the presence of the other three. Well, apparently, she was the first to try this. Although some of them were out of sight, she could sense their presence. The presence she couldn't sense, though, was that of Hybrid. How could he hide himself so well? For all that any of them knew, he could very well be this woman in pink. He could be anyone, or anything, in this park! Heck, he might not even be in this park!
The thought of him abandoning them completely, frustrated her. If this was some kind of joke, then all four of them were wasting their time! Then again...working at the pool was pretty much a waste of time as well. Thankfully, the Rec center was being removated and it was giving her a few days off. No work or practice.

The woman shrugged and kept that almost false smile plastered upon her vivacious features. "I'm sorry miss. I've seen a man with a bull head...other than that I wouldn't know...I'm so sorry." She smiled and waved before starting off again. Just as She got past Na'fiel the mermaid would hear some words. "The shadows sure are moving again..."
If Na'fiel turned around to look for the woman, which was predictable, she would find no one. Just as everyone else. It would simply seem like she disappeared from existance. Hybrid had become something too small for them to see. He now moved faster than any of them could...he was the wind. He fluttered past the drow, pulling her hat off her head and lifting it up into the air, before letting it drop back into a nearby stream.
Hybrid floated along to behind Z'Kort and appeared suddenly. An old hobo, walking from the corner toward the park. He was totally different. His face was covered in hair to hide the nearly flawless features covering his face. His eyes covered by a pair of sunglasses, and carrying a cane. He tapped it along very convincingly as if he was blind. His head turned up just a bit to add something on.
Hybrid was testing their senses, more than anything else he wanted to see how they worked...if they worked well, especially under pressure as they were now under. They needed to find Hybrid to finish this 'adventure' or else feel like they've lost something. Hybrid was enjoying the fool out of himself. That was easy to tell at least...

The fingers holding her cigerette twitched slightly at those last whispered words from the lady. Then when Zaniah glanced, she chuckled to see the woman not there.
But that chuckle turned into a curse when her hat suddenly flew from her head in a gust of wind, dropping it into a stream, soaking it completely. Muttering, she did her best to just stay in the shade, counting on the shadows to hide her ears.
Black eyes darted about, seeking Hybrid, and before she knew it she had her dagger in her hand. the blade flat against her wrist to half-conceal it from anyone that would be passing by, but ready for action if needed.
"He's playing with us..." The drow whispered to herself, but she wasn't quite sure if it WAS him, though if it was someone from that... company place that Hybrid had mentioned, wouldn't they have just attacked them? Feeling a little uneasy now, the shadow hunter reached up and grabbed a low tree-branch before jumping up onto it with the agility of a gymnast.
Zani wanted to be in the position to surprise anyone that wished to surprise this group.

"Shadows..." she mumbled and turned to look at the woman again, not surprised that she had disappeared. Without noticing it, a grin made its way onto her lips. Well, she had found him, but now he was gone. Without a doubt, he was still here somewhere...but where?
They had made little progress since arriving. Turning, Na'fiel went back to her bench and sat down again, in the shade. Day was slowly turning to night. Shadows stretched across the grassy surface, but still no sign of the strange man.
Taking her chances, she strolled up to the bull-man. Arkus, right?
"The shadows are moving beyond our sight," she said, quietly, "He's toying with us." That man...he must be enjoying himself immensely. They had to make the effort and find him. He was just playing a game... Testing their strengths and probably their weaknesses, too.

The blind bum tapped his way along the path not near anyone. He made it to the bridge, stopped, tapped a couple more times, and then walked to the peak of the small wood bridge. He turns and stands there as if listening to things. His head tilts down and he simply stands there now. His bearded face ruffling in the wind as the day faded into nothingness.
The night lights on and shining to brighten the normally dim night. The stars not visible as the makeshift suns shine throughout the streets. This was the time of shadows and the time when the 'night-owls' came out to play. The bearded man didn't seem to mind in the least.
Yet something about him was...strangely attracting. Not immensely. Maybe it was wisdom, or intelligence never used. Or maybe a hard life that could be shared with others. There were plenty of things, but the charisma oozing from that blind bum was obvious. Maybe he was once a politician or someone of importance who still held that aura. It was common in New York.

Arkus did not scornfully regard Na'fiel, but did not welcome her warmly. "Of course." He snorted his bull-like snort. "I feel it as well, but I don't know who... or what... he is. For all I know, you could be him..." This thought made his eyes widen slightly. "Are you him?" He poked her in the shoulder, and guessed that made him sure that she wasn't.
"I know not." The tall bull-man turned sideways to her and crossed his arms. "All I know is that I wish to take care of our business... I grow frustrated, and I am bored as well... I wish to fight, as it is my life." He cracked his knuckles, the loud popping of the air leaving the sacs between his joints filling the air around him, somewhat a sickening sound.
He saw the hobo on the bridge nearby. "Hmph. I doubt he would make himself obvious. He's testing us, I know. Anyone, anything could be him..." His eyes narrowed.
