MMmn I dunno about that. An alcohol dependance is prolly less likely than a chocolate or sugar addiction ^.^ Sugar is apparently as addictive as heroin.

Well I think sugar doesnt do as many messed up things as the other drugs. It is true that it can make you have cravings for, and some slight mood alterations, however most people are able to control themselves and do not need a bigger dose of sugar each time.

That's not the point Mav. If you develop a tolerance you require more to satisfy the craving. If you eat more sugary foods you eat fewer healthy foods and absorb more empty calories. Leading to excess weight and obesity.
And obesity fcuks things up big time.
(Also wasn't disagreeing gungray ) wink

Well Zetty your forgetting that you dont have to eat sugary foods to get sugar. Since just about all process foods have some sort of sugar, high fructose corn syrup, or something else like tons of sodium, that is unhealthy because its either unnatural to your body or has such high quantities that its not natural.
And people that eat the occasional sugary food, might just want to have a taste of something sweet, that doesnt mean that it'll snowball and escalate into a sugar eating bonanza. Like every once in a while I'll want something sweet, but that doesnt mean that I engorge myself with tons of chocolates, snicker doodles, cakes, pastries. No I just have a slight snack then go on my day, and probably not have another dessert for a long while.
So I think obesity isn't because of people eating sweets, I think its because of the types of foods they eat. Which is mainly processed food that has tons of derivatives, namely Sugar AND Sodium, rather than natural fresh foods. I dont doubt that sugar changes behavior, or has an addicting nature to it, but its not like its something that you can't have self control over and its certainly not the only factor in obesity.

Oh I know that. Eating on top of empty calories does contribute though. Not that I can talk. I just ate a spoonful of chocolate cake icing because I don't know what to have for supper.
lol ...I know.

I just get bored with food in general. I'm a picky eater (though..I used to be pickier.) So I hit food slumps. Then I go to surviving on snacks. WHich is so not the way to go. Though. Not all that conducive to weight gain it's not exactly helpful for energy either.
