After all.. Now that word was out that he was alive, he wouldn't be long until others knew.. And if AVALANCHE heard he was alive, however, not knowing he had changed his ideals.. They, or anyone else, might come after them..

He felt his heart skip a beat when the words registered in his head, 'working with the president....' it was at this point, that Marlute came to the specific conclusion that he'd much rather be off with the others than have to face working alongside the head of the company and not know at all what he was doing. He knew that Rufus was right to make such a descision, and that he probably would have done the same thing were he in such a position....but he still felt incredibly nervous, none the less. With a quick nod, he replied. "Yes, sir."

Reno Yawned and streched out his arms before cracking his neck to either side, getting the kinks out. "I'm going to go outside for a while...Unless you have anything more i should know...?" He said as he stepped away from the wall and looked at Rufus.

"Nothing more." Rufus shook his head as he watched Reno on his way out.
"Try to contact Elena and Rude by phone if you can... For all we know they may refuse to be answering from our phones because it is an unknown number.. Possibly if it is one they recognize they will reply." He'd look to Tseng and the other SOLDIER, then to Marlute..
He could tell the new Turk was nervous. Who wouldn't be? Their first day, working alongside the president of the entire company.. And Rufus just smirked a bit before parting those soft lips to speak. "I may have been a terror in the past, but you have nothing to worry about." He reassured him confidently.

Zeren lounged against the wall again, "So, where do you want me to be, sir?" He asked of his President, not really wanting to spend much time in that room anymore. Hospital smells were weird....

Marlute blushed slightly out of embarrassment, he had been trying his best to hide it, but the President had seen straight through his facade. He smiled, acknowleding Rufus' words with a slight tilt of his head. "Of course, sir." Turning to look at the man near the back of the room as he spoke, Marlute began to wonder if this was all that was left of SOLDIER after Shin-Ra's demise. It was a sad state to actually realize that within this room was almost all that remained of the company's elite...

It seems many of them are selling out their services.' "...Selling out their services...." Marlute repeated to himself under his breath, "So then they're decided to just become mercenaries...? That's highly dangerous, isn't it? what with highly trained SOLDIERs doing odd jobs for pay...who knows what kind of people could employ them." It was a unnerving thing, realizing that so many of the best trained fighters in the world could be off working for lowlifes with extremely high payrolls...

Zeren nodded to confirm the statements. "Yeah, most of us became mercenaries. I was seriously considering it myself, and I did for a while, but it's just not my kind of thing. The pay was really good though, depending on the job. But the whole idea...it just kept me thinking of whoring myself out or something. When I heard that the President was alive, I decided to come back to my old job." He said with a shrug. He then sighed and said quietly, "Being a mercenary is dangerous. One of my friends...well, he's not around anymore becasue of it."

Reno wandered out of the room around the time they began talking about SOLDIER and headed back outside of the hospital. Taking a deep breath a sighing, he walked over to a small pile of rubble and sat down. "Places like that kill me, yo.." He said as he shuddered slightly. "Never thought i'd see Rufus lookin like that.." He said as he leaned forward and placed a hand on his forehead.

"Well it's good to see you returning, instead of working with other groups against us... The pay will stay the same, however, like I said most of the jobs we need are simple guarding duties.." Rufus paused in the middle of his words and brought his hand up to cover his mouth lightly, letting out a faint cough. After the short fit came to a quick end his hand returned to his side and he looked back to Zeren to continue. "We don't have any known groups against us just yet.. So we can't send anyone out to take care of them.. We're still in the process of rebuilding, and until we begin to make progress there won't be much for you to do other than stand guard.."

Tseng nodded. Guard duty was fine by him as long as he was protecting Rufus. He didn't know what he would protect him form since like the President said, there were no groups working against them...yet. But there could be individuals, driven by a disaster or somesuch caused by Shin-Ra's meddling in the past. If that were ever to happen, Tseng knew instinctively that he would be the one to put his life on the line for the man he respected.

Zeren nodded and saluted again, "Understood sir." He didn't mind the pay, it had always been good enough to live on and even afford a few luxuries. It was nice to know he had a constant authority again as well, since working for random people got confusing and there was no way to know if you were being loyal to anyone or not. He took that as a cue to step outside the door and just stand guard. A feeling of welcome familiarity came with it, and he really was glad to be back.

"...?" Something soon caught his attention. Eyes traced over to another side of the room and upward at the ceiling, though he didn't turn to face exactly where he was looking. And what he had found was suprising.. Suprising that he didn't notice sooner..
The blonde Shin-Ra paused and cleared his throat before speaking up in a louder tone to be heard more clearly. "How long do you plan on hiding, you're not fooling anyone!"
