She actually wasn't so sure of that, given it was the first time she'd been in any real danger. She smiled though, holding his hoof in hers.

Kane shook his head. "I would not ever want to have to test your words. Next time, leave me." Kane felt right holding her hoof. It was slightly confusing, having never had the feeling before.

She said. She didn't want a next time. For all she knew it'd be ten times worse.

She leaned in and nuzzled him, placing a small kiss to his cheek.

Kane pulled her closer, kissing her on the lips. They were soft and sweet, like he imagined they would be. Her scent enveloped him and he loved it. He had never kissed anyone before, but he could see why others did it. It was an amazing experience. When he pulled away from her, he felt almost empty. "I'm sorry...I do not know what came over me. I shall try and control myself better." Kane couldn't keep from looking at her, though he felt he should turn his head.

She blinked several times, unable to find her voice.
Midori pinged into the room, squealing at the top of her lungs. "Rosette! Rosette!" She beamed as she perched herself on Rosette's lap, snapping her out of her dreamlike state.
"Eek! Midori!" Rosette wanted to push the girl out of the room but instead listened to what she had to say. "What?"
The little girl beamed all the more. "Who's the guy you kissed?"
Rosette turned bright red. "Uh... This is Kane. and how would you know if we kissed?" She frowned inwardly. Great...a little evesdropper.
Midori grinned. "Cause it happened just a minute ago as I was about to come in."

Kane cleared his throat quietly. "I see that someone has very good eyes." He smiled softly at the child and patted her on the head.

"And you've been nibbling on your lip again. You know Daddy doesn't like it when you do that." Midori pointed out, beaming quietly as he patted her on the head, moving from Rosette's lap to Kane's.
Rosette rolled her eyes. "and your father's not my boss..." She blushed a little though glancing at Kane. "My niece, Midori. My brother Dash, has a tendacy to think he's my boss even though he's the sweetest thing..."
Midori frowned. "BUt your lip..."
"Don't worry about it. I'll get some lip balm or something from Ris when I leave, okay?"
"Promise?"
"Promise..." Provided she didn't forget, frowning a little tiny bit that the girl was cuddling Kane. How silly of her though...Why was she getting jealous of a little girl?

Kane smiled and stuck his good hoof out for Midori to shake. "You must love your aunt very much to look out for her so. I am glad she has someone like you to help her." He winked at Rosette from behind the child. "I agree with your brother. We do not want any part of you sore or hurt."

Midori shook his hoof. "Of course! It wouldn't be as fun with just Raffee about." She said with a tiny pout.
Rosette blushed and nibbled at her lower lip.
"see! There she goes again!" Squealed Midori.

Kane shook his head. "Don't you think we should give Aunt Rosette a break? She has had a rough time the past couple of days. I bet she is very stressed. In fact, I was just about to see if I could help her destress when you came in."

"By kissing her?" Midori wrinkled her nose. "Ris says she should be sleeping and resting....I don't think Kissing counts..."
Rosette sighed. "Alright Midori....go check on your brother and your father...make sure they aren't getting into trouble..."
Midori watched her with a questioning look before she smiled. "Okay." With a hop down, she skipped out of the room.
Rosette followed after her only to close the door and slide down it, locking it. The last thing she needed was her cousin and nephew to trot in with her niece.

Kane put two hooves on the floor, standing up shakily. He offered Rosette a hoof up, his face a mask of concern for her. "Come and rest on something soft, Rosette."

Rosette lifted her gaze to meet his, her heart thudding in her chest.
"You should be sitting..."
She said softly, reaching for his hoof anyway like nothing was wrong.
