Xander strung his bow and held it to the back of the man's head as he searched the area. He was about to release but stopped, this man wasn't another soldier, but he wasn't a civilian either, maybe he knew something. Either way, Xander sometimes liked to have fun, and putting an arrow in the back of someone's head was fun, but there were funner things. Xander dove from the shadows, sending an elbow at the back of Tiki's head. He whistled for his attention as he did so.

"Hm?" Tiki's head was half-turned when Xander's elbow made contact with it. Tiki stumbled back, his hand going to his head. "What the hell was that?!" he cried. "Jesus, man! Who the hell are you?" He rubbed his head gingerly, poking where he was hit.

Esther nodded quickly, and sat down, "Y-yes. I found out a couple months ago..." she shook her head, a sad smile coming to her face, "To be honest, part of me still isn't sure I believe it. It just seems so surreal."

Xander cocked an eyebrow, Not exactly the most popular response to being hit... he thought. He stayed in a fighting stance and began to circle around Tiki, "Who are you?" he asked, ignoring Tiki's questions.

Gray nodded solemnly and pulled a small badge out of his jacket. He put it on the table. "It was true. I worked with your father myself." He leaned back. "Esther, I won't lie. I'm here to see if you would like to work for us."
Tiki stumbled back a bit and sat down on a piece of rubble. "What the hell! I asked you first!" He looked at Xander while rubbing the side of his head.

Xander sighed deeply, "And I asked last." he said, not seeing the point in who asked first.

"Fine," Richard snapped. "Send him in, if you please. And thanks for your help," he added, not necessarily sarcastically. He began to pace. "Gentlemen, I hope you're ready for action," he murmured to his team.

Esther could only stare at him in shock, her mouth growing dry, "Work for you? What do you mean? I'm--I'm just a private investigator."

During a lull in their conversation, Dr. Sewell took the opportunity to ask, "With whom, precisely, are we meeting?"

Seeing he would get nowhere with a guy like this, Tiki stood and let his hand fall away from his head. Holding his left arm out and his right arm across his stomach, he bowed. "Tiki Xero, professional mercenary. If you're a mercenary as well, which I think you are, you should have heard of me." He looked up and smiled. "No?"
Gray nodded. "Yes. Work for us. We in the agency could use your skills and talents to aid in our work." He laid down a piece of paper that detailed an obscenly large sum of money. "This would be your salary."
Connor looked around again. "I have a friend who might be able to help us. He's a bit...eccentric at times, but he is well-informed in all matters and is highly capable. That, and the man's excellent company." He smiled. "His name's Tiki."

Xander sighed, such formality, "No, actually, I haven't heard of you." he said, not offering his own name, "And I doubt you've heard of me."

((Gahh! Missed your post, sorry.)) The young soldier nodded and left. Two minutes later Commander St. Cyrill entered the room. "Can I help you with something?" he asked stiffly.
Tiki straightened up with a sigh. "Man, someone's a bit stiff. First you try to bash my head in, then you won't even introduce yourself properly. Tsk tsk." He shrugged, smiling. "Oh well. Want some tea?" Quicker than a flash, Tiki had a small camp stove burning with a dented little kettle over it, holding water that was to be boiled.

Xander narrowed his eyes at Tiki, he was behaving very peculiarly, Who offers the man who just hit over the head tea? he thought, "What kind of tea?" he asked, ignoring Tiki's complaints about him being "stiff" "Oh, just take the tea!" came the voice of Alex in Xander's head, "He might know something about the substance."

Esther cautiously took the paper and examined it, her eyes widening as she blinked repeatedly, making sure she had read it right. This had to be some kind of joke. She glanced back up at him briefly, and quickly dismissed that thought. He didn't really look to be the joking type.
Her head was spinning as she answered, "I suppose this isn't really a refusable offer," she sighed, putting her glasses on to make sure once again that she wasn't seeing things. She could use the money, though maybe not the sum they had offered. But she wasn't going to complain either. And since her father had worked for them, she guessed they must be good people for the most part, so it wasn't like she was getting involved in something she would later regret...she hoped.
"What exactly do you need me to do?" she asked, looking back up at him.
