Lai nodded. That did make sense. Einar was from a time vastly different from his own so things must have changed over the years separating them. Shee was a smart woman, and he felt a bit better about it. The first person he had told this to had not condemned him, but tried to help clear the fog away from his vision. A reassured little smile popped up and he answered her question.
"I think so. That is what is most important. It is like in the books where the characters are from two different walks of life and their feelings for each other are condemned, yet they care not." He hoped that comparison to his and Einar's situation made sense. It did to him, at least, in his head.
"Say what I feel...And be honest." The former was going to be hard. He did not know what he felt. Einar was handsome and he had felt a couple of connections with the other man during their meeting, but the feelings were odd and sent out mixed signals. "I agree there Shee. I think it will take a lot of time. I need to find myself, my feelings and sort them all out. Right now everything is in chaos and I do not know what is what. But I do know I feel better now. It feels like a pressure was lifted from me when I told you all of that. So thank you for helping me with that."
He beamed at her, raising himself up so he wasn't slouched over any longer. Though still painfully confused about his feelings for Einar, he did have a better understanding of why the man had acted the way he did that day. Now came the tough part, actually understanding how he himself felt. Lai stood up, extending a hand down to help Shee up as well. He knew what he could do as a thank you.
"I shall repay your kindness, understanding, and help by making you the best sari I can out of that red material. I know it is not much, a small thing compared to what you have helped me learn, but I shall get started as soon as I depart here. Which should probably be soon as I think it must be late in the evening now and I am sure you must have other engagements planned."

"Oh! Its like Romeo and Juliet... sort of. Or Heathcliff and Catherine! But you're both not crazy. Or you're not, anyway. Or... Heer Ranjha! Sassi Punnun!" Shee sighed happily. "I don't think anyone here at LOTUS would condemn you. Most people here... have their own sorts of problems." She neglected to mention Senza-- he would definitely condemn something like this.
"I'm glad I could help, Lai." Shee took Lai's hand and jumped up, braids swinging. At Lai's offer, Shee grinned maniacally and threw her arms around the man.
"Thank you Lai! I'll be looking forward to it now, you know. I'll have dreams of red saris." She drew away, and looked serious for a moment. "Don't be scared."
She rocked lightly on her heels, trying to remember what she was supposed to be doing tonight... there had been something...
"Oh! That's right, Lai! I was supposed to help Wraith look for-- uh, his favorite katar, that he lost. Um, a few hours ago?"
That was a horrible lie. She might as well said she was going to help Wraith look for a date, or a recipe to make cheese. The only way Wraith would lose a katar would be to stick it so far in someone he couldn't (or, rather, wouldn't) get it back out.
He was going to kill her for being so late. She turned to face the door, and then looked longingly towards the bed.

"Erm, I hope it is not at all like Romeo and Juliet, Shee. It was basically lust on both parties counts and ended in their deaths." He shuddered at the thought of that happening to anyone like that. "But I am glad to know that. It eases my mind to know I will not be looked upon like a leper should these feelings of mine be what you say they are."
At Shee's hug he froze up a bit, but relaxed and gave her a pat on the upper back all the same. He waved his hand briskly as though making it seem no trouble at all but it fell to his side and a faint frown creased the corners of his mouth. Lai's eyes couldn't help but show some fear in them when she said not to be afraid. These feelings were so strange, so new that he couldn't help it. He would try not to though, he couldn't live in fear and he needed to figure out what it was he felt and wanted from Einar.
Lai nodded and quickly went to pick up the red material before following Shee out of the room with the chest of fabric. Tucking it under one arm he turned to her with less red in his face now and a more soothed and calm expression.
"Thank you again Shee. I shall be sure to come by again once I have it finished. Hopefully it will not take me too long, as I am sure you would like to wear it immediately." With that he gave her a gentleman's bow and stepped out the door. "Good luck finding the katar!"
