More dead bodies laid littered around the inside. The walls had been splashed with the blood and the floor was slippery with the same substrance. However, there was no trace of the huntress or the vampire for that matter. Though the castle still held a few secrets within it. Most notable was the room that laid hidden behind the bookshelf. The book entitled, Humans and the World, held the key to the lower level.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

November was no where near the castle now. She had been walking after the cold tracks of Raziel who fled before the attack happened. She groaned in pain as she held tightly to a branch she had picked up and was currently using for a walking stick. A trail of blood had long since dried behind her for the most part. Her own body was sticky with not only the blood of those monsters, but her own blood as well.

Her brow was furrowed as she kept that look of determination. Despite the high fever, the incredible loss of blood, and the various wounds she had taken on, she didn't stop. She couldn't, and had vowed not to until she killed him. Raziel's death was the one thing on her mind.

D searched the castle, the blood on the walls and floor teasing his bloodlust, room by room trying to find any clue to the Noble's whereabouts. But after coming upon a lot of vacant rooms and stepping over several deceased and decaying remains D came to only one, obvious conclusion, the vampire wasn't here.

"From the looks of it he hasn't been here in awhile, just his experiments or rather whats left of them." The voice concluded.

"I want to check one thing out." D replied as he entered the library, or main office of the castle. D knew all to well that bookshelves served a double purpose. Extended his left hand, a small face emerged from his palm and was placed against the books upon the bookshelf. D went slowly, his hand gliding over the books bindings.

"Got it!" The parasite exclaimed as D ran his hand over the oddly entitled book, well at least odd for a Noble to have. D yanked on the book and the bookshelf gave way to a secret room that lay behind it. Stepping inside D began to search some more.

The stairway that lead down to the bottom was covered in what seemed to be moss that had crept it's way inside the castle. Once D reached the bottom, he would be able to see all the experiments up close. Failures, each and every one of them.

Their bodies laid there on various tables, some had their organ's removed and placed into jars for further testing, others where so much of a failure, that they where still intact and deteriorating in the room. Their faces each held a horror that would stay there until their flesh melted away.

In the far corner laid a desk, most of the books had been cleared out but a few useless notes that Raziel had disgarded. It wasn't something he needed to keep around. He hadn't been able to make this experiment. It had been much to complicated and he lacked a proper vampyric specimen for it.

After giving the room a once over and not spotting anything of interest, even after leafing through a few of the notes scattered about, D gave up his search. Though he wasnt about to leave the room just yet. Finding the main computer that controlled the lab and kept it running, D called up the screen. His fingers glided over the buttons, clearly knowing what they were doing. Alarms started going off, at least what was left of them, and a crimson light started flashing.

It wasnt until his work was done that D left the room and headed upstairs. As he walked up the secret passageway, the computers voice blared in a language only known to old Nobles. It seemed to be counting down, to something...

D exited the castle and mounted his horse just as small explosions inside the lab began to take place. Eventually there would be one big one that would take down the entire castle, or at least most of it. D lashed the reins to his steed and raced off back to the town on the main road, unknowing that he'd eventually cross paths with November, so long as she stayed on the path.

It certinly wouldn't take him to long to catch up with her. His horse was fast and though the woman had a day on him and had covered a great deal of distance in her condition, it still wasn't what she was normally used to covering.

She would stay on the path. She was following the tracks the best she could. Now, her eyes were starting to loose focus. She shook her head a few times to straighten her eyesight and continued on. If it hadn't been for the stick, she'd have fallen a few miles back. She had paid little mind to her wounds. Since she had been in a hurry, she simply tore off the cloths from one of those failed experiments and dressed her wound with that. In her mind she knew she would kill herself if she continued, but she wasn't dead yet. That was the strange thing.

The sun started becomming visible again in the bland and sandy landscape. Like a blaze from hell, it warmed her up to the point where she felt she was going to pass out. Why did it have to be so hot for her? November reached one of the saddle bags that hung around her neck and pulled out a canteen of water. She opened it up and took a sip, she would have loved to simply douse herself in the water, but she knew she couldn't. It was wrong to waste water and that was on resource she needed to keep for as long as possible.

((masquerade: you realize that storyline wise this puts D and November a day or so ahead of everyone else? Cause it was dawn when he left the village, and now its dawn again or am i reading your post wrong? Maybe we should slow down?))

D raced along the path, his nose picking up the smell of fresh blood, even if it was a day or so old. If he was correct in his calculations, the female would have left the castle minute he had set out from the town. Ds steed pounded the earth, racing by at blinding speeds, and yet he seemed to be riding his horse no harder than a fast gallop.

It would be around noon when D caught up with the girl. She didnt look well, in fact she looked like she had been to hell and back. Slowing his steeds pace to a slow walk D watched the girl for a bit. "Where is he?" D asked November his blue gaze landing on the girl. He didnt seem to care too much for her condition, for he didnt stop his horse and offer her a ride. The youth had an air about him that spoke of all business and nothing more.

Gina had finished her meal and then looked around the room. she smiled as the boy finished his food as well. she "do you know excatly where your aunt lives?" she asked him. she at least could take him out, find the aunt, and then leave before the sun rises too high for her. she could find a place in the forest, like a shaft or a cave, or even in the trees shade to reside at. she did not want to stand being there. she had to find out everything.

the leader then saw the group had resided at a village. he would do no good there, for his Master told him that he would not make publicity out of it. he told the other Elites to return back to the Castle and follow the one already ahead, Mizu. he would have to stay behind for the time being.

Mizu had finnaly reached the grand Castle in the record of 3 days. he saw the castle tower over many things, showing its superiority. he walked inside, as the guards knew of his presence. he ran over past the many rooms and went into the main chaimber. he bowed on his knees to present himself to the shadowed figure on his rightful throne. "Master" he called out. "your daughter is well. however, she has been acquanting herself with others. two are vampires, and two were humans."
"describe them" boomed the dark voice of peril.
"the humans are a mere huntress and a widowed boy without a family. one vampire is a noble from unkown lands, and the other....." his voice trailed off, but the dark lord could understand his quiet details.
"find them. send out a reward for my daughter, and i want the head of this vampire hunter on my walls." the voice said.
"yes, Master." Mizu ran off, back to begin his journey.

Catherine thanked the lady and was shown to her room for the night. She took off the belt that held her sword and gingerly placed it on the bed. The warm breeze made the room stuffy and to warm to sleep in; so Catherine went to the window and fully opened it. Outside, Lucifer was resisting the urge to break down the door and trot up the stairs to Catherine.

" Be good"Catherine hollered to Lucifer when she noticed the michevious look in his eyes

(No it was just ment to be the effect the sun is having on her right now. It was still dawn when she was out so I guess now it's about noon for everyone right?)

November didn't turn her head to look up at him. Who did he think he was? She let out a low growl that sounded a little to beastly for a young woman. She continued walking thanks to the stick, but the sweat continued to pour from her brow as well. She finally spoke up once she felt the urge to, "He's not yours to kill hunter. He's mine. I'll kill him, and I'll shove his head onto a pike and let his body rott in the most gruesome swamp."

All she could think of was killing him. Her eyes weren't that of a humans, but that of a predator. Her raven hair hid the various reasons why. The bite, the p***k on the back of her neck. He was going to die for biting her and putting her through hell.

She finally turned her head up to look at him and narrowed her eyes to him. Her tone was as serious as his. It was then that she remembered the small group that had been with him, all of them were gone except for him.

"I realize that people with cold hearts do reckless things. So don't you give me any bull crap about how I can't take him on because I'm hurt. Just turn around and go back. Collect whatever reward you were offered. You can consider it a free lunch." She turned her head back and tried to pick up the pace.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The boy looked up at her and sighed. "Well, I may have um..made that up. My aunt died a little while ago. I read the last note that was written to my mom." He blinked as he heard a horse outside and looked out the window and down.

"Do you think he'll be back? It looks like he left his horse." The child was, of course, mistaking the horse outside, for the one the great hunter D had been riding.

((ah nvm then lol))

It was at this point that D brought his horse ahead of the woman and cut her off, stopping his horse in her path. "If he hurt you this badly what makes you think you can beat him?" D asked the girl.

"You should take your own advice, and dont let your anger get the best of you." D said simply as his eyes went over the woman. His gaze would have seem perverted if it had been anyone else but this youth. D was looking the girls wounds over, assessing just how badly injured she was.

D offered his hand to the girl, silently offering her a ride back to town.

(No worries, it's good to be on the same page. ^_^)

She stared back at him. "Because like you I am a hunter, and I fear that if I stop now, it will be the end. I'm not weak half breed. I'm not going to give up just because of a few inconviences. Yes I have wounds, but they will heal. Nearly everything does with time."

She looked at his hand with a brow raised, as if she wasn't sure what to do with it. Such a strange thing it was, in all her life no one had ever offered to help her. Only taken what they could get from her before leaving. Such a gesture made her weary, she didn't have anything to give his outstretched hand.

Once she figured out it was an offering, she shook her head. "I'm not going back to town if that's what you were thinking. My destination lies wherever he went. Now, please move before I loose the strength in my legs."

She was definatly determined, and very much involved in her work, despite what it may do to her. But something puzzled her. This man's heart was frozen in a block of ice that no one could get past. "Why would you offer to help someone you don't know when your own heart is as cold as the ice caps of the far north? You get nothing out of it, and you are definatly not a man who does things just because he has a kind heart. No, your heart has long since frozen over, possibily due to loosing someone or something you cared deeply about. That much is clear, so why pretend to care when two minutes ago, you where just going to leave me here? Seems pretty suspicious to me."

Halfbreed? How did she know?- The thought was lost or rather never spoken while the girl talked. D was a cold statue offering his hand to a woman in need. Pulling back his hand D dismounted from his steed and approached the girl. His beautiful visage was like an icy tundra and yet there was such eternal sadness behind his eyes. The girl had hit Ds character right on the head, but was it really him she was talking about and guarding against? Or was it herself?

"If you go and fight him now, you'll only be singing your death certificate." D said to her, his blue eyes meeting hers. "I cant stop you from going about your way but i do think you should reconsider what your doing." D voice was calm and collected as usual. "Id advise you to head back to town and at least get your wounds properly wrapped before you pursue him." D said before turning his back on the girl and returning to his horse.

She felt her heart stop but she didn't move or flinch. She looked over at him as he stepped over to her and spoke before returning to his horse. "If I return there now, what's to stop you from going out and slaughtering him on your own? If I go back now, my chance at revenge will be lost to you. I've never let anyone get away from me once I've set my sights on them. He is no exception. Besides, I'm not that hurt." Her pride wouldn't let her see the seriousness of her injuries. If she did turn back, this one would hunt him down and possibly kill him. Then how was she going to get back at Raziel for the hell he had put her through.

She took a deep breath and looked over at D again. She knew he was right, even if she didn't want to admit it. But that look in his eyes, he had felt the same way once. "What about you? I know you've felt the same thing once long ago. The hatred that will consume your soul unless you get your revenge. I can't let him get away, not from me, not after what he's done. I just can't turn away, not after I've come this far."

November bowed her head and leaned against the stick that was now holding her weight up. To her, it felt as if the sun was cooking her alive. He did something and didn't tell her. If the hunter killed him, she'd never know what it was.

"You saw all of those monstrousities didn't you? All those people where from that little village." She pulled her head up slightly and looked at him again. "I know you aren't one or the other, you're both. It took me a while to figure it out, but I saw the small differences of each side. I don't know how and I'm not going to ask you your life story. I'd doubt you'd tell me anyway. If you are headed for him, consider taking me along. I know that no matter how much I tell you that his head belongs to me, you'll head there anyway."

(For Grete)

The carriage pulled up slowly to the large castle that held his comrad. Raziel had been going over the letters that he had recieved and his proposal was something to good to pass up. A war between humans and vampires. With all the research and experiments Raziel had done, he was sure he would be of great assistance to Gina's Father, in more ways than one.

The door to his carriage was opened by one of his better experiments. Still not what he had been hoping for, but a good start atleast. The crimson haired gentleman removed himself from the carriage and proceeded up the steps and inside the castle. He looked around at the interior, and found himself quite pleased at his new home. He knew his minions would carry his things to his new living quarters, so he didn't have to worry about that. Raziel simply waited for one of the minions to lead him to the room where he was to meet his new comrade.

Gina turned her head to the boy. "what??" she asked him, shocked to hear about the news. she couldnt believe it. he had nowhere togo, and she couldnt take him with her, as much as she wanted to. he would end up being in the way, for if anyone knew about the boy and Gina growing fond of him, they would use him to get to her, and she knew that. she didnt know what to do. "oh no.." she looked at him with a frown on her face. she was disapointed, but she understood why he would do something like that. she sighed deeply and rubbed her face. "what are we going to do then?" she asked herself, but aloud.

One guardian turned his head to see a carriage pull up. he let it known to his comrade about the new arrivals. as the figures approached the gates, the guard halted them, blocking their way. "what buisness have you here?" he asked them
