"That's wonderful... I'm so happy for you." Lorey's free hand reached over the table to take his in a tight squeeze. Besides quitting smoking, he had gotten a good job. And he loved her to pieces... what more could she ask for?
Cake, apparently.
"Ooh, is that what you told me about? I'm still having this soup you made! You're putting some healthy weight on me, that's for sure." Which was needed, since she'd been told too many times by her boss that she was too skinny.

Richard smiled, pushing the cake forward a little. "Yep, I thought you'd like to have a sweet treat during work...oh and I brought cake too..." He smiled roguishly as he gave her a playful wink, which apparently he was famous for.

"You rogue!" Lorey blushed and laughed gayly. In order to truly enjoy the cake, though, she had to drag her seat so that she was sitting right next to him. The thermos was emptied of soup, and the cake sat idly, mocking her.
"This is wonderful... I had someone get very cross with me, because they swore they ordered red roses instead of pink, even though the electronic order said pink... There was a lot of yelling on their end."
But, it was only one kink in her job, nothing more. "So you just make my day so much brighter, with or without cake."

"Well I'm glad..." he smiled in return, leaning down to kiss her neck sweetly. "But are you sure there's no one I have to go beat up for giving you a hard time?" He asked with a silly smile, but still a streak of seriousness behind it as he nuzzled her gently just to see if he could catch another glimpse of that smile of hers.

"I'm sure there's no one you need to go beat up..." Lorey took a piece of cake, and suddenly felt like she was in heaven. Sweet treats and her fiance, all in one place that wasn't pleasant, but good enough.
Lorey nuzzled him back with her little nose, smiling. "I think I have to get back soon... but I'll see you in just a few hours, alright? Thanks for coming, love."

Richard smiled a little sadly, wrapping his arms around her waist and stomping his foot like a small child throwing a temper tantrum. "Do I really need to go?? Can't I stay with you??" He asked with a pout and big sad puppy eyes as he kissed her neck a few times.

"Y-you have to go, or I'll get in trouble!" Lorey's laughter rang out again from his kisses, but she silenced herself. With his face in her hands, she tried her very best to be serious, but her eyes were sparkling with mischief.
"I'll come home to you, and we'll hide away somewhere from the world, all tucked away. It'll rain, and we'll be warm and safe." She kissed him deeply enough to last him the hours ahead, pulling away as she felt a little raindrop on her skin. "And you'll get more kisses."
Lorey hoped Richard had taken the speeder, or else he might be the one to need his umbrella...

Richard was bright red as he pulled away standing suddenly, laughing a little nervously. "Alright, alright.." he said shaking his head. "Lorey...You drive me crazy sometimes..." He shook his head a little embarassed as he leaned down to kiss her once more. "But yes...I will see you tonight...have a good rest of the day my love..." He said with a slight squeeze before turning to head back inside the shop.

She was blushing, too, but there was a strange satisfaction in knowing she could do that to him.
"Alright... I love you!"
Lorey went inside with him, but had to stay in the arranging room to finish up a new order that she'd just been charged with. She'd stay in her chilly room, while he went out and carrie on his day. There was only an hour or so, really, until she was off, but if something had to be finished, she might work overtime.
Lorey was nearly on air regardless.

Richard smiled and waved as he slipped on his jacket and popped the collar up. He really wanted to leave it with Lorey, but knew she'd be fine. That and since it was starting to rain, He;d need something to keep him slightly dry on the walk home. Richard could have taken the speeder yes, but much preferred walking. He was so used to it and even enjoyed it a bit. Besides, he hated borrowing something so pricey of Damian's, and figured they would need something available if either he or Raquel decided to leave anywhere.
He said his goodbyes to Lorey's Boss before heading out into the fresh, sprinkling rain with a smile. He, just like Lorey, was practically floating on air.

Lorey was working the register that day, along with phone calls. Lisa was working in her favorite position, in back with the arrangements. the day had been slow and steady, giving Lorey a little conversation time with her boss and even Lisa when she could. It seemed that after she had given lis a simple compliment, her day had brightened up.

It was about noon when Richard stumbled in, just as gracefully as before. He looked rather flustered but happy to see Lorey. "Lor? Lorey Darling...." He smiled, coming up to the front desk, pecking her quickly on the lips, and giving a nod to her boss before getting straight to the point. "How would you like to have dinner with my mother and myself tonight?" He asked breathlessly.

"Tonight? Really? You called?" Her shift was just about to end in five minutes, so her hopes were soaring. "Richard, that's wonderful... and you look amazing, did I tell you that?"
She was blushing and smiling like a fool behind her counter. thank goodness no customers were in, or they would have thought the scene slightly embarrassing.

Richard turned nervously, looking down at himself. "Really?" He asked quite not sure. He even had a tie on he had 'borrowed' from Damian since they were both preoccupied in Raquel's room. "God I hope so..." He mumbled,fishing for his wallet. "Here, also, can I just have one of those bouquets of Daffodils? They're her favorite..." He asked, handing Lorey a few credits for one of the pretty little arrangements in the coolers up front. He seemed like a nervous wreck, but he felt he had good reason.

"Of course..." She rang him up, and handed him the change. It made her smile, especially because she herself had arranged the flowers he was buying. The clock chimed one, and Lorey was officially off the hook.
All she had to do was step out from behind the counter, and she was done.
"So, flowers, you look absolutely handsome... what next?"
