Angie rolled her eyes and bipassed the two males in her journey to the right, veering down the slightly slopped path. "To the ocean, of course. Who wants to go back inland, anyway, when its crawling with centaurs and cervitaurs?" She scoffed, flicking her tail in a very annoyed manner.
Rees slowly walked past Ulric, shrugging his shoulders with a sigh and lethargically following after the female. Thats how the entire day continued. He followed obediently behind the two like he had earlier, listening to the blabbering only half-heartedly as he took in the surroundings. As the sun started to make it descent over the trees, Rees noted that the forest was becoming thinner. He could smell the salt in the air already, and they still had a long way to go.
Darkness collapsed on them like a cheap backdrop. Angelique's stomach grumbled and a few times she tried to hide it by burping or coughing, one time even blaming it on a disgruntled Rees, but in the end she had to give up. "Maybe we should make camp for the night, " she yawned, swiping at her eyes with the back of her hand.

Ulric's head snapped up, the nice nap he had been enjoying while walking over. "Yeah. I think that is the better idea. If we keep going at this pace, we'll reach the shore in no time" His sleepy smile widened, his hands already gropping for his thin sheet. Once found, the ragged cloth was thrown on the ground, barely a suttible covering. That sheet had been with Ulric for what it seemed like forever. Twigs, branches, roots and small logs were gathered for a warming fire. Soon the popping of wood was soothing Ulric into sleep, until stomach pangs awoke him. "Maybe we should find some food..."

Angelique came to the conclusion that with the fight and his already travelling ways that Ulric would be knocked out soon, food or no. She hung her pack from a high branch on a nearby tree, safely out of the way and still close enough so she wouldn't forget it. " I'll go out and try to-"
"Don't bother. " Rees, who had been about to turn in himself, yawned and stretched his hands above his head into the eternal darkness blanketing the forest. He scratched his chest, slapped his lips around for a while, then trotted off into the woods, intent on finding enough food for three hungry foxtaurs.
Oh, and some for the others as well.
With a soft smile, Angie settled in next to Ulric by the fire. "He can be considerate, when he wants to be, can't he?" She asked offhandedly, rubbing her arms to warm them.

Ulric smiled, loving the close scent of Angelique's skin. He could feel the warmth of her skin, even if she rubbed her arms for warmth. He could not help but wear the smile that spread across his face slowly. Wrapping a muscled arm around her, Ulric drew the shivering foxtaur closer, warming her with his self-produced heat. "We all have our considerate tendencies. Though I believe his motives are more for self satisfaction. But a tired stomach cannot hold the ammount of food he is likely to bring. For now, just relax in the warmth of the fire." His eyes stared to slip closed, a content expression crossing his face. This was what made him feel as if he was part of the world. A warm fire, a lovely companion to warm against, and a snarky foxtaur to keep the conversation going. Ulric could feel his muscles relaxing, how long had it been now? Everyonce in a while he would open an eye, searching for an equally tired Rees, and to watch the fire dance in Angie's eyes. He smiled once again, relaxing into the warmth of sleep.

She hadn't been cold, quite far from it actually. Angelique liked the feel of skin on skin and when Ulric pulled her close, she smiled. Having a man next to her made all the unease drift out of her. Though she could have the same closeness with Rees, she didn't feel the connection. " Alright. "
The lolling rhythm of the fire, along with the ebbing weariness and Ulric's warmth caused the foxtauress to drift into sleep. As empty as her stomach was, nothing could have kept her awake. She yawned petitely, snuggling close to his side and wrapping her arm around his, snuggling into his arm like a pillow. A orchid tail wrapped around the pair, adding an extra layer of comfort to the night.
Rees appeared from the tree line sometime later with a deer slung over his back, covered in its blood and with bags under his eyes. His arms were laden with dead squirells and rabbits, easier pray that he caught when he was too tired to deal with the big guys. He noticed the coddling, but didn't say anything. Instead, he supressed his urge to sleep, since he was still running on little sleep from last night, and trotted to the outer edge of the camp to skin the meat.
At least if they were going to have a heart supper, then breakfast would be spectacular.

[congrats on your new little one btw heart ]
Ulric was hardly aware of Rees's return, his eyes fluttering open to stare at the many pounds of meat. Angie's yawn brought a smile to his face. "Do you need help?" His hearty voice was barely a whisper, careful not to awake the vixen that slept peacefully in his arms.

(Lawl, she's not really new, but she needs sig time. xD Congrats on the birthday!)
Rees shook his head from side to side lazily, yawning as he dug around Angie's pack for the knife he knew she had. When he found it, he unstrapped the deer from his head and tossed the smaller animals in a pile. With dejected eyes, he looked at the blood drying on his pelt and groaned, turning back to his work. It was going to be a nasty night.
"Stay with her and get some sleep," He whispered in a reply. "I'll join you shortly."

[oh. Well it is adorable. And thank you]
Ulric knodded, watching Rees skin the animals. The soothing sound of the knife, and the fire crackling slowly got to him. The sweet embrace of sleep swept upon him. "Goodnight"

The night carried on in peace. Crickets sung to their lost mates and courted potentials to their dens as Rees worked, glancing enviously to the sleeping pair every so often. It was long while before he could successfully lay down his knife and string up the meat. A midnight moon had taken over the vast ocean of sky by the time he settled in close to the fire, stretching out on the ground as sleep over took him.
-----
Angelique awoke with a yawn. She stretched her arms out infront of her, becoming vaguely aware of all the cricks in her bones from the uncomfortable sleeping arrangements. Her hands rubbed the sleepy gunk away from her blue eyes while she chopped her lips. It was a couple minutes later that she realized she'd slept in.
And apparently, so had everyone else. With Ulric still dozing next to her and Rees sprawled out, tail dangerously close to the extinguished fire pit. It was peaceful, this morning and even though she had her morning ritual to take care of, she stayed cuddled next to her violet protector, subconsciously wanting to be the first thing he saw when he woke up.

Ulric awoke with a yawn, stretching out to release the tension in his muscles. His eyelids were still heavy and his eyes unfocused. He could feel the faint breaths of Angie curled in his arms, and looked to her. Even though they had slept out in the open and had just woken up, she was uncommonly beautiful. "Good morning my angle. Did you sleep well?" His smile was on the goofy side, a side effect from just awakening. Ulric could see Rees in the corner of his eyes, thankful that his friend had managed some sleep during the night. Concern went through him as he saw how close his tail was to the fire.

Angelique nodded and smiled pleasantly at him, a rogue spark lighting up her eyes as she watched him wake up. She was sure the 'angel' bit was a side effect of morning disorientation, but all the same, it made her heart blossom. "As well as I could have. I mean, this isn't exactly high class sleeping arrangements, is it? " Her hand motioned out to the expanding forest, then to the ground.
"What about you? How are your wounds holding up?" Cautiously, she reached out to cup the side of his face, her thumb smoothing over the blackened skin around his eye.

Ulric couldn't help but blush, closing his eyes as he resting in Angie's touch. "They are holding up fair enought. May take a day or two for them to completely heal up." He loved the affection she showed him, the soft touch on his face. Ulric could live in this moment forever. "A beautiful girl such as yourself should sleep in five star hotesl every night. Regretibly, I can only get you campfires and taverns."

"A hotel?" She tilted her head at the foreign phrase but didn't give it too much thought. One quick swipe of her hair made her grimace and she remembered what she wanted to do before he woke up. Standing slowly, she stretched out her limber paws and twirled her tail around her backside seductively.
"Well, time for a bath. If your lucky, I might just cook some of that meat Rees caught for breakfast when I get back. " She winked at him and laughed before undoing her hair, making a big bush behind her head and walking into the surrounding forest.
Rees waited until she was good and gone before rolling over to his side, one hand propping up his head while he pouted at Ulric. "Cozying up real fast, aren't we?" It was as much of an accusation as it sounded, but he didn't like the woman and he made his position clear.

Ulric smiled as he watched Angie walk away, laughing at Rees's clear dislike of her. "Don't worry, she could never replace you." He winked, nudging Rees with his elbow. "When you travel the road as long as I have, you can judge people pretty quickly. She seems a trustworthy person, and it is nice to have a lovely companion. I have been lonely for a very long time remind you." Ulric glanced back towards his friend. "Besides, three sets of eyes are better than two."

Rees frowned and toyed around with a stick that was seeping out of the fire. As if pretending it was the pink fox herself, he turned it around and shoved it back in. "You are simply the most ignorant man I have ever met." He stated simply, locking Ulric's eyes with his old impassive ones. "Whether or not her number adds to our travelling success has yet to be seen. She's a petty thief, if you haven't forgotten. Those were family treasures and they had a better right than us to them." Hobbling up, Rees stretched out his limbs and yawned. "However, if you wish to pour your heart out to some vixen you just met, be my guest. I'm going to skin breakfast." He then wobbled over to he met and sat down, back to Ulric.
