I'm fluent only in English, but I've taken 5 semesters of Japanese, 2 semesters of Mandarin, 1 semester of Americian Sign Language, and independently (and briefly) studied Lakota, Latin, and French. xp
yalie--I think Chinese is easier than Japanese...well, the grammer certainly is. xp Chinese prounciation is harder. sweatdrop

Chinese is a lot harder.
There are more charactars to memorize, more different pronunciations. It's hard for people with anglo-saxon first languages (English, spanish, french).

yalie5 i wanna know if i'm the only one who thinks that japanese would be easier to learn that chinese? Japanese is probably easier. And instead of learning all the kanji you could just learn how to write the words using the english alphabet.

I'm learning Japanese (I think it's MUCH easier than CHinese, much less characters) and I know a tiny bit of Korean, French and German. I'm also learning Mando and am pretty fluent in Canto.
