Huzzah.

i love the Major. I really don't know why. I like her even more in GITS SAC 2nd GIG. I like the whole black and white look she does in it.

I think that the Major rocks!

Say what you like I respect every opinion but, I only rise to the challenges i have to face to stay alive and protect the lives and identities of my unit. I have no need to prove my abilities to anyone.... sometime i even doubt them but, i do what comes natural in time of defense. Call my "Bada$$ed" if you wish but it's just a title. ((Meant in no disrespect to any opinions))

I'm a big fan of the Major, and the other GITS characters (Saito and The Laughing Man are my favs). But, what I like about Motoko (this has pretty much already said, but whatever) is that she is a tough, female character. I too am sick of seeing these whiny female characters in anime *cough*SakurafromNaruto*cough*. Its nice to see a character like this for a change.
As for the whole "is she female, is she male" thing, I think that she is very much female. She displays it in a couple, though subtle, ways. For example, the bracelet is very feminine. And the clothing that she wears. Some pieces (the gloves, leather jacket, ect..) show the tomboyish side of her. But, you probably have noticed that she often wears revealing clothing. It could either be to trick her enemies, because she likes flaunting what she's got, to show that, although she appears tough, she still hasn't forgotten her true gender, or a mix of all of the above.

And not all lesbians are that way because they want to be male. I've seen quit a few lesbian couples who still look, act, and dress like the females they are. So, just because she might be lesbian doesn't make her a man in a woman's body. (of course, I could always be wrong)
