Monroe, seeing that the male was set on ignoring her or something of the sort, decided on a more direct approach. He didn't seem too threatening. She walked up to him in several quick steps and smiled, "Hello." She greeted him as if they were old time friends.

Riima followed behind Monroe up to the strange fox, he didn't seem unfriendly. She perked her ears and sat quietly.
"Hi," Sunil grunted. He sat down on the hot sand, stiff as a board. He looked up the cliffs once more.

Monroe gave him a long look, 'What's his problem?' She then decided that ignoring his mood would be best in this situation. "Well, my name is Monroe, and this beautiful vixen right here is Riima." She gave him her best friendly smile, "Do you live around here.... Um...?"

Riima smiled weakly from next to Monroe.
"Yup," he replied cheerfully. "I've lived in my cave since I was born. Just on my way there now." These foxes seemed very friendly. He could use a few friends... "The names Sunil by the way." He flashed his white teeth in a gleaming smile.

Monroe smiled, she had succeeded in brightening his mood a slight! "I actually have a cave up in the cliffs myself! And we were on our way there as well, Sunil."

"Rabbit should do fine," Hydro replied to Kenan as they walked deeper into the forest. "What was your navigating teach like?" he asked a little wistfully "I've always wanted someone to teach me, to be a mentor. My father died while he was hunting. Lost his way in the forest, got in the river to try and find home, but was swept away. Mother died shortly after I could hunt properly, from some illness she'd concealed from me and father." Hydro shook his head sadly "before she died I wanted to become the best fighter ever, after I wanted more to learn how to heal." Hydro stopped walking for a moment caught up in old memories.

Kenan smiled, "Well then, we are very alike. Except... I don't know my parents. They left me in some forest, suppose I was too much trouble for them." His face grew hot, he was sharing too much personal information, "In the end I had to find my own way and scavenge my own food so that sharpened up my navigation quite a bit."

"Ah, that's what I was guessing." Sunil answered charmingly.

"So is your cave high up or down below?" Monroe cocked her head, curious. This could've been asking too much information, there was rarely a fox who would willingly reveal their dwelling to a mere acquaintance. "As I said, I have my own cave. So I'm not looking to brand it as my own. You could probably... Well... Kill me if I try." She laughed lightly, as if it were an impossible predicament.

Sunil glanced back at her. "Up high," he sighed. "Worse to fall from... you're correct with that statement." He added, smirking. She didn't seem too intimidating or seeming like she would steal his cave.

"Mine's pretty high up there, too." Monroe raised an eyebrow, den neighbors? That was something new. "I personally don't favor those that are low and close to the coast. Flooding, lack of illumination and scenery, you know," she smiled.

"Ah, but the higher up, the further you fall." Sunil smiled as he said this, he was having too much fun, The poor little girl looked terrified. "That is, if you're not pushed." He added, no longer smiling, he had a look of pain upon his face.

Monroe noticed his sudden change of mood. "Are you alright?" She nudged up against him in an awkward walking hug of sorts. "How's about we talk about something else? We're nearly there, anyway." She gave him a reassuring smile.

Riima was still following the adult foxes, listening to the conversation.
"Uh, yeah," he replied, shaking his head of those terrible memories. "Hmm, what else to talk about? How long have you had your cave?"

"Oh, quite a while. I stumbled upon it as a teen and it's been my home since." Mornoe sighed, her own head flooded with memories. "I'm not there that often, though. This is one of my rare visits. I think I'll stay a while, though." The sun wasn't beating down so hard any more. In fact, it was gracefully retreating westward, painting the skies with vibrant oranges and pinks.
