Quite unexpectedly Cosette smiled. This fellow Super could be a force of good if she was repaired and retrained...
" Alright, she left into the sky and you haven't displeased me." She let go of her jaw, easing back a bit and offering her hand as she stood.
" I'm sorry I threated you, Terra." There was a odd openess in the gesture, though there was little hope of catching her off guard.

Terra hissed again. With a certain odd dignity, she Super stood up from the ground.
"Not sorry," she spat. "Never say you're sorry. Do you regret it? No."
To Terra, any act of violence was done simply because you wanted to do it, and anything you wanted was something you enjoyed or needed at the time. It was a twisted way of thinking, but it was all she could manage.

" Oh, but I do regret it." She smirked and moved back so Terra had room.
" If there is something you need, seek me out." With that comment, she spun elegantly, gathered her bags, and went on her way. She could now effortlessly track the Super, now that she knew her scent. It would be no problem if she found a cure for the illness she obviously suffered.

The white haired 1st gen headed down the street, back to her home to do some reasearch.

**I'm just going to RP it here. XD**

Richard drove Lorey out to his old neighborhood. It wasn't as ritzy as where Damian had shown them, nor as slum like as Lorey and Raquel's part of town.
It was simply a small gathering of streets, with people bustling too and fro, ignoring one another on their way home or to work. There were many many old buildings here and there, some holding a nostalgic touch. There were even one or two stores that resembled a few 'classics' on earth. One of which being the little ice cream parlor with the faded red canopy around it. The building itself looked rough but still durable, and the doors seemed rusted. Equally as rusted was the tiny metal bell above the door that made a pleasant little jungle when you opened it.

Richard parked the speeder near the shop, coming to let Lorey out. "Well, here we are!" He exclaimed, motioning with his arms. "It's gotten a little worn since I've been here last, but it still has the best ice cream in all of Veratia." He promised, smiling like a little boy. "Come on, lets go!" He laughed a little, giving lorey a gentle tug towards the entrance.

Richard was getting her enthusiasm, it seemed, and she was getting his mischief. She held back, laughed, and tugged the opposite direction for a few steps just to see what would happen, but the call of ice cream was far too strong.

Once they crossed the threshold, they seemed completely out of place. Lorey in a beautiful evening gown next to Richard in his suit clashed with people in shorts and shirts, making her feel very self-conscious.
"I'd just like a small little sundae," she said softly. "That's all, nothing fancy. I'm already bound for a stomach ache as it is."

An old man hunched over behind the counter nodded as he turned, doing a double take at the couple. "Erm- yes...right awa-...Richard?!" He called out excitedly. "Little Richy Mentaro!!" Richard sighed and blushed.
"Mr. Spanetti. It's been too long." He said awkwardly, rubbing his neck. "Lorey, this is George Spanetti, George, this is My Lorey...my fiancee." He introduced with a blush. The older man seemed so giddy as he jumped around to open a door leading to the back.
"Ethel get yer arse out here! Look who is is! Little Richy! And he's landed himself a new girl! And my she's a looker!" He shouted excitedly. In seconds, an older, plump little old lady came bustling out, drying her hands on her apron.
"My my Richard!" She squealed, reaching over the counter to pinch his cheeks like a little boy. Richard was thoroughly embarassed as he introduced Lorey to this woman as well.
"Well, what a pretty little thing you are!" The woman named Ethel delighted, giving her a look up and down. "Though why so dressed up?" Richard laughed and just explained how they were just out celebrating their engagement as well as Lorey new job.

Richy... she'd have to remember that when she wanted to tease him. It was so hard to believe that Richard had ever been little, but so was thinking that she was a "looker."

"You're too kind," she tried saying, but her nervousness cut most of her words short. Was this like meeting Richard's family? They were certainly friends, that was for sure. "And it's so wonderful to meet you... Richard's told me about this place. We were excited to come!"

The excitement had settled right in her stomach, making butterflies. Calm yourself, she chided. They're friends.

Richard was sweating bullets, blood red too. He really didnt think they still owned this place. "My my what manners and grace! Why she's a keeper!" Ethel exclaimed, placing her hands on her hips. George, the older man, nodded as he stepped forward again.

"Richy and his mother used to stop by here once a week and get the same thing. One 4 scoop multi flavor cone. Or as he liked to call it, the 'eye-skeem kye-scraper". We even ended up naming it that." He pointed to the menu, and there is was, plain as day, next to a small picture taped to the wall drawn in crayon of an ice cream cone, signed "Richy". Richard rubbed his temples but still smiled. "How is mom by the way?" He asked e motionlessly. George shrugged.

"She hasn't stopped by in a long time. But I hear she's doing fine...why dont you go see her, I'm sure she'd love to see you again." Richard furrowed his brow.

"Yea...Yea I'll do that." But it was with a tone that suggested he'd do anything but.

George seemed to catch the drift and changed the subject. "You're a lovely girl. I can see why Richard fancies you." He smiled to lorey again. "I'm glad he found someone to make him happy again." He added with a sincere nod, and Ethel did the same.

George then turned and prepared a simple ice cream Sunday in a colorful little plastic dish for Lorey, and created a more portable version of the 'eye-keem kye-scraper' for Richard without even asking him what he wanted. He handed them over to the two with a warm smile. "These are on the house. You come back anytime you want missy, and we'll tell you all sorts of stories about When bug ol Richard was just little Richy." He gave her a wink. "Just like the time when he and a bunch of his playmates were playing ball when they sent one flying straight through my window. Poor ol Richy had to work a month for us to pay it off!" He laughed heartily as Richard grabbed Lorey arm gently pulling her back to spare her anymore stories.

"Now you know you're always our Richy! Do come back and we had better get an invitation to that wedding of yours!" Ethel cried after them, waving them off. Richard smiled nervously, waving his goodbyes, trying to escape any more embarrassment.

"G'bye! and thank you so much!" Lorey held her ice cream with one hand and waved with the other. She had enjoyed their company, laughing and smiling at every story they shared. Richard, or Richy as he would be known in her little private world, seemed a bit too eager to get out of there. Whether that annoyed her or made her smile, she wasn't quite sure. There was something else that hadn't occurred to her until then, though, that certainly caught her attention as they made their way back to the speeder to eat their food.

"...why haven't you ever mentioned your mother before?" she asked, taking a scoop of ice cream in her mouth.

Richard hardly looked at her as he attempted to eat his towering ice cream cone with some difficulty. "She just never came up..." He admitted casually, which was true. His own history, besides his time with Rose, had never been brought up thus far in their relationship. he seemed to be pulling some sort of balancing act with his desert, finally catching it with his nose. Richard sighed, but tried not to laugh as he stopped, and leaned against the nearest wall, trying to not make a mess of things. "I remember this being much bigger....and somehow much less hard to eat. Probably because I usually didnt care if it got all over me..." he joked a little nervously as he attempted to lick at it.

"We're going to be married..." she said gently with another scoop to follow, this one covered in hot fudge. "I'd like to know about yours if I've told you so much of my life."
Fair trade, she thought a little bitterly. She'd had such a rough run as well, and yet he was the one keeping secrets and trying to keep her safe from unpleasantries, as if she couldn't handle them.
PostPosted: Wed May 13, 2009 4:51 pm

Richard furrowed his brow. "...I haven't mentioned her because she's no longer part of my life. And I'd like to keep it that way." He snapped, glaring a hole in his ice cream cone. But his eyes softened, looking up to her. "I'm sorry...I don't mean to be cross....I just...I wasn't very close to my mother after Father died...then I drifted even farther away when Rose died. She seemed to distance herself from everyone when father died, wanting me to follow in my fathers military footsteps, which i did to a certain point, but she wasn't satisfied. Especially when I decided to resign and join the police fore. It was my life not hers you know?" he paused a moment, letting that sink in with himself. "But when I married Rose...she heartily did not accept. She had wanted me to go back into the military and raise a family...Rose and I never had any children..." He said sadly, shaking his head. "And when she died, Mother blamed me...I think she secretly blames em for fathers death as well...not directly of course but..." he sighed angrily. "She's just a bitter old woman who doesn't know her priorities. She hasn't been my mother in over 20 some years so why should she start now!" He braked, but not at Lorey, more to himself. He glared at the tall ice cream in his hand, frowning. "...I'm not so hungry anymore..." He said in a soft voice as he tossed the cone into the trash with venom. "We used to order that together anyhow...I dont know why I'd want it..." He crossed his arms, staring at a small stain on the concert.

Oh Richard...
Lorey heard him out, just listening and not talking. She was much the same way with her father, wherever he was. No one else in the family really seemed to care what had happened. The story as she heard it was that they'd virtually abandoned their daughter after she eloped with the man who'd impregnated her. What good that did.

She walked up to him, her dress shuffling and glittering in the lamplight. She always managed to stick out in the night because of her white hair. Sometimes she wished she'd been made dark and lovely, like her dress, so she could know what it was like to just not be seen.

"Richard..." Even she wasn't sure what to say. All she did that felt right was raise her spoon with icecream and a bit of fudge on it to his lips.
"There's a peanut for you."
PostPosted: Wed May 13, 2009 5:08 pm

Richard looked at her, smiled shyly, took a bite, looking up at her with his big golden brown eyes. He released her spoon with a smile. "I love you...." he said shaking his head with a laugh.

Truth was, Richard didn't hate his mother...they just hadn't been close since he was a young child. He missed those days frequently, but just recently, learned to never look back. Why should he focus on all the bad memories of the past, when he had this lovely happy future in front of him, adorned in deep blue.

Lorey's white finger inched him towards her for a kiss. It was truly sweet that time, making her want several more before she pulled away slightly.
"Even if you don't speak to her, you need to forgive her. My mother forgave my father because he gave her me. You have happy memories, and need to thank her for those."

Forgiveness, she'd learned, was about the only thing that kept her mother from ranting and raving right out the front door. She was one to talk, though. Lorey hadn't forgiven Terra for murdering her yet. But Terra had give her no happy memories, just sadness. In that situation, it was hard to forgive or forget.

"Are you alright?" She wanted to make sure they were before moving on, either back to Damian's house or wherever life would take them next.
