Raquel sadly knew it was time for the second part of situations like this. The aftermath. She was thankful, so so thankful, that Damian had stopped all of this before it got too far, but nonetheless, it was time for her to stop crying and do what she needed to do. She gently but reluctantly pulled away from his hold, using the wall to try and stand herself up. But she didn't leave his grasp entirely without stealing away a grateful, sad kiss. She cleared her throat as her shaking, white form grabbed her ripped gown. Leaning against the wall, she tried to slip it back on, a pained look on her face. "W-w-we'll handle t-this together..." She said softly, holding the broken strap with one hand as the gown she wore seemed as lovely as it was just before it was ripped off. a bit more wrinkled but still gorgeous on her. "I-I'm so s-sorry....D-damian..." She said through shakily tears as her crying started up again. she fell back against the wall, crying. Usually in situations like this, She would hide away alone, crying and scared for hours, sometimes even a whole day, until she made herself put it behind her. Was that what she was trying to do as she stood shakily, her lovely green back where it should have been? Her hair a mess, makeup running down her face?

While all this was going on, Terra had made her entrance into the Ball Room, had given her grand welcome speech with all the sanity she could muster and fake, and had begun the musical festivities without the songbird Chase, whom she loathed. His music made them dance. She hated dancing circles. Circles and lines of moving people who all glittered... it was madness.
But there was no party past the employee door. Damian helped Raquel put herself together, though let her do what she could on her own. She had to, he knew, in order to have some dignity. "Darling, I left you, this is my fault..." he whispered. "I left you for a fruitless venture. I left your safety in the hands of everyone else, and I... I should have known." As she cried, he pulled her gently to him again, and held her. The police would come. He would very well be arrested for the damage he'd done to Chase, while Chase wold be arrested and hospitalized, though perhaps not in that order. The medical facilities in Veratia were so incredible that his face could be placed back to new, if not better, so he felt no guilt there. All his guilt rested within Raquel.

Raquel had obviously been thinking the same thing. "...Let's not discuss this now..." She said softly, making her way, her head held high, towards the door. In her mind, she was walking straight and proud, and a look of confidence and dignity on her lovely face. But in reality, she was beaten, bruised, in pain, scared, shaking, and just wanted to cry."We need to get out of here before the police..." She said, obviously having been through this before. She fell against the doorway, choking back scared tears. It was almost inhuman for her to be functioning right now. Thats when she had to remind herself that she was part Amarathien. She could suppress her emotions long enough to get out hf here. "D-darling.....w-would you please escort me h-home?" She asked, holding her shaky hand out to him, a weak smile attempted.

Strength. At that moment, Damian asked himself how could she not see that for herself. With one more burning look to Chase, Damian rose from the floor and walked to Raquel. "There is a back way," he said shakily. "We cannot go through the crowd. Too many people, and someone is bound to see..." Damian placed his arm about her waist and took her hand with his other. If they were to escape and get to the speeder, they would completely avoid the crowd and police. But did they really want to evacuate, leaving Chase to concoct a tale while they fled? "Raquel... we do need to take care of this..." he said, thinking of the trouble they could sink into by running.

"...Who said anything about running? And I'm quite aware someone will see. I want them to." She had a strange look on her face. "I'm not asking you to go with me...but I just want to show these people what I really am." She gave Damian a look that held a wild new determination. "Let them see...I don't care any more...nothing else can be taken away from me at this point. They've taken almsot everything from me...but they wont take my fire, and they wont take you..." She looked at him with a longing expression, not knowing if she made sense.

She was the only person who could take his breath right away with a look or a few words. He was so proud of her that his heart felt like bursting, both with that pride and the sadness at her condition. Damian straightened his back and set his shoulders, before nodding with a grave seriousness.
"Then we shall go together..." Damian wasn't truly aware of how sweaty and bedraggled he looked, with bloodied hands and a still wild look in his eye to anyone who wasn't Raquel. He was frightened of this impending doom, but he would do it for her. He would face the crowd and disown them, even if they were no longer his.

Raquel smiled at him, her eyes sparkling. She took his hand in hers, pulling him gently out into the hall, and then into the Ballroom.
And there the two walked. They trumped straight down the middle of that ballroom. Raquel beaten and bruised, now even a little blood from various wounds were viable in this light. Her make up smeared face held an expression of integrity but with a fierce side to it. She was arm in arm with a tussled, bloodied up Damian. She didn't look to his face, though she could feel the emotion emitting from him. The crowd parted in silence, only to be broken by a few gasps, and a few horrified whispers. That was only interrupted by the loud, angry rambling of another figure, stumbling out form the hall way. Raquel hesitated only when she heard one word. "WHORE!" A bloodied, barely coherent Chase screamed at her. "Damian Centurion disgraced this ballroom. by bringing a wretched, dirty whore into our midst!" he pointed a shaky, bloody finger at Damian ad Raquel, who still had their backs turned. "And look what he did to me! Damian Centurion deserves to be banned form this ball room, and any five star establishment in all of veratia!" He cried, taking a few disillusion and infuriated steps forward.
Raquel was so distracted by his words, she hadn't noticed Terra who seemed to be running things around here, nor the flashing blues and red lights outside.

"And you disgraced us by raping the very same woman only moments ago!" After the last syllable escaped him, Damian realized how dead silent the entire room was. That only happened while the owner was speaking, or when a very important announcement was being made. Domestic disputes went noticed, but never earned such a reaction. Did it stop him? Of course not.
He met every eye that dared look at them in the center of the room. "Do not act as if you are all any better... all whores, all thieves marred by what you have done. Swindled those who are fighting to get by every day--"
"That is enough, Damian." The cold voice of Terra was so unnaturally penetrating in the silence that he could have sworn she had a device to aid it. Her eyes, still hidden by contacts, were still bright with mischief. The act would be upheld, however. They turned to Chase. "I heard your crimes echoing through the halls... and I sent Damian to see what was amiss. Did you commit your crime, you pristine song bird?"
The lights were brighter, and the police force was slowly entering the scene. Damian began to panic, and wanted to run for it with Raquel, but knew he could not... for both of their sakes.

Chase stood there in disbelief. The way the crowd was looking, he knew they already knew. "I-i-...." he stood, hit face swollen and beaten in, yet he was being treated as a common criminal. He finally stood upright, fixing his tux jacket as best he could. "...I was simply using her for the only one thing she was made to be used for. It's not my fault if she's been spoiled to a life that doesn't belong to her. It's not my fault she's resisted, resulting to such an unfortunate label....so if you look at it that way...yes, I raped her." He said with a venomous look to Raquel, shooting his poison deep into her system, scaring her slightly. She grasped Damian's arm a bit tighter. He smirked, sending her an unrepentant vibe, letting her know he'd do it again and would as soon as he got the chance.

Terra was the perfect aristocratic lady. Her cold, calculating eyes examined Chase from head to toe with reserve, though her voice was laced with condescension. "So you just confessed to your crime in the presence of the authorities. You are not as clever as you seem." A snap of her fingers, and a few officers emerged from the crowd to go towards him. The next question was posed to Damian, whose bloodied hands gave him away upon first sight.
"And did you assault him in the act?" she asked with perfect sweetness. Damian nodded, earning himself two officers as well. He would not part from Raquel, however. Not then. "And we all know now that this woman was viciously assaulted within the ball room and should be given the full extent of the law regardless of her perfectly legal practice. You all do it regularly, I'm sure."
The officers had to resort to near violence to part Damian from Raquel, and try as he might, he could not return to her side. His hands were cuffed behind him, and he was slowly dragged away towards the front of the Ball Room. "I am glad to be rid of you all," he said with clarity despite his terror at being dragged off. They were his last words to the crowd before being pulled out the doors.

Raquel tried to reason with the officers that Damian was only guilty of defending her, but they still wouldn't allow her to be with him. Instead she was pulled off gently by one of them, to be questioned down at the station. She was slightly near tears, not wanting to show her emotions now, but they were starting to bubble over, to the point not even her Amarathien side could take over. She mouthed "I love you" to Damian as he was forced into the back of the police speeder. She didn't want to be alone right now. She wanted Damian. She wanted him to take her home, lie in bed together and just cry and make up. But there was nothing to do as with all eyes watching, Damian Centurion was arrested and driven off. A few grunts and disapproving remarks were smirked and thrown about as Chase was forced into an ambulance to treat his beating before he went in for questioning. Raquel was helped into a separate ambulance, an entirely new experience to her, to make sure she was alright and sound physically before she was brought in for questioning as well.

Terra observed it all.
She watched Damian be dragged off, heard his words though they were whispered. She watched Raquel be gently directed to a vehicle to be taken off to the hospital in her tattered dress. And with a certain relish, she regarded Chase as he was dragged away and arrested as well.
Chaos like this was meant to be her doing. This place was hers, these people under her thumb... and that prat had the nerve to rape one of her own in her walls and in one of her rooms. To say Terra was possessive would be an understatement.
"That was enough entertainment for a week, I'm sure!" she called out in an oddly high-pitched voice. A snap of her fingers brought the artificial music playing through the speakers, hidden within the walls so that they could be discreet. Terra wanted them to simply be gone, but that was impossible. And so, slowly but surely, the room returned to its past buzz and glamour, as if nothing had happened. As if a woman had not been assaulted, as if the grand son of the last noble Centurion had not just been arrested, and as if their favorite songbird had not just had his wings clipped in front of them all.

A couple days after the little social intrigue that played itself out within the ballroom walls, Cosette strutted in, a newspaper clutched under one arm and a bag in the other. She was stylish with her black leather like coat the cut off at her elbows, her short black pencil skirt that happily hugged her hips with black tights and heels, the outfit topped off with a pair of large sunglasses to hide her very red eyes. She moved sinuously as if she owned the place as she moved up to the reception desk. " I need to see the manager, please." She said, looking at the male clerk over her sunglasses and pulling her face into a smile. He looked enraptured before clearing his throat and buzzing her in, sending a loud buzzing noise into Terras office to signal an arrival. Cosette beamed and slunk off towards the office, smirking softly. She needed information, and she would get it.

The buzzing noise always made Terra twitch. Then again, most things did, and what things did catch her fancy usually found themselves twitching (and more often than not, writhing) from her attention.
"Come in," she called out in the most sane voice she could muster. She'd been working on that all day and every day since she was appointed manager of the place. If anyone thought her insane, well, she would be mocked, and those who mocked her could not be eradicated if they were prominent members of society. That had only worked once, with Damian's father, Liam, and only because everything was arranged just so.

Cosette twisted the old golden knob, slipping silently into the room and sending Terra a slim smile. " Hello, dear. I hope you love chocolate." She drew a box from her bag and set it on her desk, before happily flinging herself into a near by chair with wanton ease. " I trust you've been well? Managing a ballroom can be tough work." She pushed the sunglasses up on her head and winked at the golden eyed super.
