Kurei's a weird person he's an Okama a Man/Lady thats weird isnt it?

Well, this is a huge question.. and there's lots of pages already covering a lot of what makes it so huge, though I only skimmed after the first couple pages.

Here's my idea.

On the one side, this might be the full crew--Luffy said 'about 10' and Luffy always ends up being secretly infinitely wise and prophetic about things, so goodness knows the crew will end up having 10 members. If you COUNT Luffy, that's one more... if you DON'T, there's two more to go. I don't think counting Vivi and saying we're already there really counts--though she was the 'closest' to being a 'full-time nakama' of any of the part-timers or other friends, Luffy considers a good number of people as at least somewhere-near-as-important 'nakama' as her--so many the crew would far surpass 10 were they all counted. I.e. Bon-Clay, the Galley-La Company, Boa Hancock, probably even Ace despite his belonging to another crew.

Then again, we have EVERYONE who could possibly be thought up as having a distinct 'role' on the ship; our captain, first mate (Zoro), cook, doctor, canonner, navigator, etc. and through the whole series Luffy's been begging for a shipwright and musician both of whom we just recently attained, which would seem to fill it out. Also, as has been stated, we're right at the brink of the New World now and if anyone EVEN FURTHER is introduced at this point, we may not get to know them as closely or see them grow as much as the current cast--plus, everyone's off on their own little personal 'spiritual journeys' of sorts now, which in a way kinda says "this is the final crew, now they're all gonna go power up in their own unique ways and come back to form the greatest team in the One Piece universe" etc etc

*HOWEVER*

A) As for the 'positions on the crew' thing, no one ever asked for an archaeologist/historian that I recall, but we got one. No one asked for a canonneer/sharpshooter, but we got one, and very early on too. There are many possible 'positions' we might not be thinking of that could be filled; a bartender has been mentioned (though Sanji probably kinda has that under control as-is)-- a few more I could think of is possibly a deep-sea diver (like a fishman or mermaid) that's able to scout/collect stuff/disarm traps/etc underwater, or maybe something as simple as a ship cleaner.

B) There are still a variety of prominent One Piece character-types that have not found their way onto the crew yet. We have normal humans, Paramecia users, an animal and 'special' Zoan-user, a cyborg, and an 'undead'... but we still lack ANY form of Logia user, a fishman or mermaid, a 'normal' animal like Carue, a 'normal' Doan user (a human that can turn into an animal, instead of Chopper's special case), an ANCIENT Doan user, or any non-human races whatsoever aside from Chopper (who is a special case, and Franky and Brook are just modified humans)--such as a White Sea dweller/Sky Islander, aforementioned merfolk, etc.

C) As stated early in the post, in my personal opinion there's room for at least ONE more crewmember, and possibly two.

I also believe there's a high probability that there'll be at least one more female member since as it stands we have 7 guys and 2 gals, and were *very* close to having a third female in Vivi way back when--and a LOT of the current possibilities happen to be either female, or okamas (I could definitely see Bon-Clay actually joining the Straw Hats permanently at this point, after recent events)--speaking of which, we don't have a single okama or homosexual on the ship either, and before you say 'oh that'd be dumb', just think of the ridiculous level of humor if they were around Sanji and Brook! Especially someone like Bon-Clay who can trick them with his power!

But anyway.. yeah, long post, long post.

Contrary to popular belief, it's unlikely that anyone by the names of Bon Clay, Boa Hancock, or Buggy will be joining the crew. rolleyes

Personally, I'm hoping for Ace. He's awesome, let's face it, the brother of the main protagonist, and uses a type of fruit not used by any other fruit user thus far: Logia. There are a few things to support the theory that he might be next to join, but it's never certain.

First and foremost, he's Luffy's brother. Recall how in the Alabasta arc, Luffy wanted Ace to join. Exact quote is uncertain, as well as episode number or chapter page, but he said something about it. Ace said no, and Luffy respected his wishes, but Luffy's always gotten the people he wanted to join before, hasn't he? It's always worked out in the end like that.

Second, let's take a look at Aokiji. Luffy lost in a heartbeat against him in their first encounter. Obviously, he will be making another appearance sometime in the future. I'm sure that Luffy could come up with some way to deafeat him if it came down to it, but how awesome would it be to see Ace go and whoop HIM in a flash? Fire > ice, afterall.

And let's not forget the very fact that Ace got captured in the first place. This has to have happened for some reason. Obviously, he won't die, and will be saved, probably by Luffy. Whitebeard COULD come and rescue him, but, so far, it isn't looking like it.

There are some contradicting facts to this theory, primarily Ace being a part of Whitebeard's crew, but it could somehow get taken care of. With Oda, you never know. ninja

I'm not saying it will happen, just that it could. 3nodding

Seeing how there is no need for a new member I don't think anyone is joining.

I actually reckon, judging from the newest chapters, they're going to get either Boa Hancock or Bon Clay join them. xd I really wish it's Bon Clay, he's too amazing. Or perhaps Ace? I dunno.
