Oh, well. Seen plenty of Doctors come & go.
What's sad is when the actor DIES. Then you can never see them or hear them doing that part ever again.
To cheer the DT fan girls (&boys) up....think about this:
DT wasn't allowed to do cons while he was the Doctor, was he?
So, when he isn't the Doctor any more, he should be able to make appearances at last. smile
Then you can start watching the con listings like hawks, so you can go MEET him.

I'm not exactly easy to get in touch with. I haven't been on this forum in over a week . . . found out this morning on my LJ Friends page, 2 people I knew had posted about it. At least one posted the interview, but I don't think I could take watching it cold like this. I'd cry. Honestly, I've just gotten to like him, and now he's GONE ?!?! crying cheese_whine I was actually trying to play it off, making smart-a** comments to my husband all morning about "listen, the sound of thousands of weeping virgins . . . " But now I read how many of you young ladies really ARE crying, and I feel like a jerk. And I'm sad too. Even though I've been through this before, many times. Once I start writing for a character, they become a "real person" to me. Part of myself, even. And everyone who read my fan-fic has been saying I write DT very well . . . SIGH! They just need to arrange the specials so there's like, a century of the Doctor's life UNRECORDED in between them. So we can continue to fill in the blanks with yummy, yummy fan-fic. DAMN! He was HOT! burning_eyes For a skinny kid. *suspects my jealous husband forced him to regenerate* rofl

Nope, I didn't know it was finally for real 'til you e-mailed me. I've been ignoring this as a rumor thread for quite some time.
Someone should alter the title a little to show it is now serious & true news.

Eirwyn Nope, I didn't know it was finally for real 'til you e-mailed me. I've been ignoring this as a rumor thread for quite some time.
Someone should alter the title a little to show it is now serious & true news. Sorry you had to find out the bad news from me, E. I'm just surprized you didn't hear before I did. And hello, mods, y'all probably ought to put something in the heading of the thread now. Something like "OMG, it's not a rumor!" And then pass out a lot of virtual Kleenex. Reminds me of when I heard the show was being cancelled back in 1990. I bawled like a big baby. I'm so gonna miss DT. He was cute. Lickworthy, even. As in, "lick, mine!" (who put that into the banana thread? I cracked up!).

I would blow this off as a typo but the same website has a quote from RTD as saying "...the Tenth Doctor still has five spectacular hours left! " OOH. So have they slipped and told us something we don't know? ninja Aaand: the cover for Einstein and Eddington has been released!

gonk Has *nobody* seen him as other than Gollum? sad He's a good actor! Pulls off a great British accent and it kinda reminds me of Rowan Atkinson in one movie he was in.
Also: The reason I'm surprised at the "five hours" is because there's only been four reported for 2009. eek
I'm SO having a crazy party when I get the eps. biggrin

Well...You could have one that is movie length I guess...or combos of 60/90/120 that end up as 5 hours. I don't know. It'd be cool if one was a true movie!

Everyone keeps on telling me this, and I'm still really kind of confused,
because I was almost positive he was signed on for one more season
:/
Besides, he's such a popular, well loved doctor,
in addition to the fact that he seems to love what he does.
I mean, sure, the show isn't coming back till 2010, but.
I'm not even sure what to believe anymore :/
And I guess just a handful of specials would be great,
but I really wish he'd stay for another season.
His leaving will lead to many a tear/riot.
I'm REALLY curious as to who they'd cast for the next doctor, though.
My friend has always wanted a female doctor,
but, though they have never said for certain,
time lords seem to only regenerate within their gender.
I hope he gets to be a ginger, like he wanted to be. <":

knightofthe21stcentury Lennie the Fish I shall be annoyingly honest and say YES! I never really like David as the Doctor. Mostly because to me the Doctor is not some hyper pretty boy, he is a grumpy old man. Now that doesn't mean I don't like Paul or Peter. They may have been pretty and not all that grumpy but to me they were very good Doctors. But sadly any hopes I have of a good Doctor (in my opinion) are dashed away because as long as Steven Moffet is there we'll probably just get another pretty boy with some clingy female companion. *sigh* ( I swear if anyone starts flaming me just because I hate DT I will hunt them down and kill them because I hate flamers like the Daleks hate the Doctor! ) I didn't like him at first, but then he got kind of good, and then he left. Just when he got good. Typical or what? I don't think your quite getting what I'm saying. I'll write it out with equations. Doctor Who= Pure awesomeness Doctor Who + Love interests + (Drama x 10) = Pure crap That's my opinion, I'm sticking to it `so Death to Ten!
